michael_33
I thought I would give you guys and myself an observation of what we can hope to have available at the spots we select in this years draft... I have included All draft picks for all teams including the compensatory picks as well... This isn't so much of a Mock Draft as it is and observation of what we can hope for....what we can expect....and what positions we can look for at there respected slots.(and as we all know how the drafts are .."crazy"..this is all just hopeful speculation) 1ST ROUND ----------------- 1. Miami (1-15) 2. St. Louis (3-13) 3. Atlanta (4-12) 4. Oakland (4-12) 5. Kansas City (4-12) 6. New York Jets (4-12) 7. New England (from San Francisco) (5-11) 8. Baltimore (5-11) 9. Cincinnati (7-9) 10. New Orleans (7-9) 11. Buffalo (7-9) 12. Denver (7-9) 13. Carolina (7-9) 14. Chicago (7-9) 15. Detroit (7-9) 16. Arizona (8-8) 17. Minnesota (8-8) 18. Houston (8-8) 19. Philadelphia (8-8) 20. Tampa Bay (9-7) 21. Washington (9-7)I honestly believe that our selection here will depend on what QB's are taken early if at all...With Matt Ryan being the only definate QB that we can say will be grabbed in the top 15,one has to wonder if any of the others will be grabbed by the time we pick here...I see Miami,Atlanta,Baltimore as your best bets from their position...The question is,will Chicago or Minnesota look that direction too?If we can get a couple teams take flyers on QB's before our selection, there's a good chance that we can land a top prospect at #21...Who it could be is anybodys guess! 22. Dallas (from Cleveland) (10-6) 23. Pittsburgh (10-6) 24. Tennessee (10-6) 25. Seattle (10-6) 26. Jacksonville (11-5) 27. San Diego (11-5) 28. Dallas (13-3) 29. San Francisco (from Indianapolis) (13-3) 30. Green Bay (13-3) * New England (pick forfeited) (16-0) 31. New York Giants (10-6) 2ND ROUND ------------------ ROUND TWO 1. (32) Miami 2. (33) St. Louis 3. (34) Atlanta (from Oakland) 4. (35) Kansas City 5. (36) New York Jets 6. (37) Atlanta 7. (38) Baltimore 8. (39) San Francisco 9. (40) New Orleans 10. (41) Buffalo 11. (42) Denver 12. (43) Carolina 13. (44) Chicago 14. (45) Detroit 15. (46) Cincinnati 16. (47) Minnesota 17. (48) Atlanta (from Houston) 18. (49) Philadelphia 19. (50) Arizona 20. (51) Washington I'm actually just as curious as who we pick here as I am the 1st round...With as deep as the D-line is this draft,I think there could still be some real gems here...We could land a Calais Campbell or a DeLawrence Jackson...But I think this will be a good spot for either D-line or WR's...Malcolm Kelly is dropping and Kiper is saying Sweed is going in the 2nd round...So who knows what is true? What is true is if the QB's are NOT taken off the board early as I hopefully presented in round 1,then you can bet your house that teams will be scrambling for guys like Falco,Woodson and others to try to land these guys...I wouldn't be suprised at all if we had a trade down here for an additional pick(s) for team wanting a QB or so!(if there are any left of course by now) 21. (52) Tampa Bay 22. (53) Pittsburgh 23. (54) Tennessee 24. (55) Seattle 25. (56) Cleveland 26. (57) Miami (from San Diego) 27. (58) Jacksonville 28. (59) Indianapolis 29. (60) Green Bay 30. (61) Dallas 31. (62) New England 32. (63) New York Giants ROUND THREE -------------------- 1. (64) Miami 2. (65) St. Louis 3. (66) Kansas City 4. (67) New York Jets 5. (68) Atlanta 6. (69) New England (from Oakland) 7. (70) Chicago 8. (71) Buffalo (from Baltimore) 9. (72) Buffalo 10. (73) Minnesota (from Denver) 11. (74) Carolina 12. (75) San Francisco 13. (76) Detroit 14. (77) Cincinnati 15. (78) New Orleans 16. (79) Houston 17. (80) Philadelphia 18. (81) Arizona 19. (82) Minnesota 20. (83) Tampa Bay 21. (84) Washington If we haven't selected a DE or DT by the 1st two rounds, then we better do it here...This is probably our last chance to land a possible starter or potential 3rd down pass rusher at this spot IMO...If we already have by now, then I wouldn't ignore the QB's,WR's or CB's still sitting on the board here...We drafted Cooley just 3 spots higher than we are right here,so the thought of grabbing a gem is very possible...Some may question why I say QB here?We are still in need of a 3rd QB for this team and we don't know what Campbell will do in this west coast system...Why take a QB in the 6th or 7th round and end up just cutting him like Palmer, when we could grab a potential stud here to groom and learn the system for a while...And with our injuries we have endured over the years,I would at least like to get a Big Arm here to actually make the roster...(I don't want to reach however)no..no..no..no..no!! 22. (85) Tennessee 23. (86) Seattle 24. (87) Cleveland 25. (88) Pittsburgh 26. (89) Jacksonville 27. (90) Chicago (from San Diego) 28. (91) Green Bay 29. (92) Dallas 30. (93) Indianapolis 31. (94) New England 32. (95) New York Giants 33. (96) Washington Redskins I've read from a poster that FB Schmitt would be good here....But this is the Dockery pick here,so maybe look at a O-lineman here?It would be real sweet to land a suprise stud here, with the way we have just thrown picks away for players who never contibuted...There is one comfort we all should share....We can't trade this pick away! 34. (97) Cincinnati Bengals 35. (98) Atlanta Falcons 36. (99) Baltimore Ravens ROUND FOUR ----------------------- 1. Miami 2. St. Louis 3. New York Jets 4. Atlanta 5. Oakland 6. Kansas City 7. Baltimore 8. San Francisco 9. Denver 10. Carolina 11. Chicago 12. Detroit 13. Cincinnati 14. New Orleans 15. Buffalo 16. Philadelphia 17. Arizona 18. Minnesota 19. Houston 20. MartinC
Your point about the QBS being the key to the 1st round is spot on. If say Brohm is still on the board when we pick we may field some calls from say Atlanta who want to move back into the bottom of the 1st round to pick him up - we may get an offer of say their 2nd round pick and next years 1st rounder to trade. If we stay at 21 then we go BPA who is a WR, DB, DL or OL. No idea who that will be. Re round 2 no way Sweed or Calais Campbell will still be on the Board when we pick in the 2nd. Getting that extra 3rd rounder is huge - we should come away with 4 very solid players and then hope to get a sleeper or two in the 5, 6 and 7th. Burgundy Burner
give me these guys....21st Brenden Albert, OG, UVA 51st Trevor Laws, DT Notre Dame 84th Jordy Nelson, WR, Kansas State 96th Owen Schmitt, FB, WVU ... and do whatever the hell else you want with the rest of the picks... id be a happy man I would like such a draft too with one exception - a stud DE at the 51st pick. The remaining picks - go for offensive line.
[[ghost]]
I would like such a draft too with one exception - a stud DE at the 51st pick. The remaining picks - go for offensive line. It'd be smarter to spend multiple day two picks on DEs, then to take one early. Though I wouldn't be against a Laws or Campbell or maybe even Jackson with the 2nd, so long as we got a solid WR with our 1st.

I'd like to get a CB as well but there's not enough draft picks in top 3 rounds. Picking Owen Schmitt is a more foward looking decision. If the WCO that Zorn builds really needs to rely on a true FB then we'll need one in the future. For next next year we can get by with Sellers. I'd like to get Schmitt but would be equally happy with a C/G such as Kory Lichtensteiger (Bowling Green).

Schmitt will likely be there at #96 but I just don't think the Skins would take him that high.

I thinks its very possible if not likely that the falcons deal those 3 2nd rounders and/or 2 3rd rounders as part of a deal to move up.... Do they really want to take Ryan at #3..?Maybe,but I'm not betting on it.. They would be smart to sit still though....Their draft could look like this... 1st round)Glenn Dorsey 2nd round)Joe Flacco 2nd round)Calais Campbell 2nd round)Limas Sweed/Kelly or Nelson 3rd round)? 3rd round)? I mean damn...! If we could land 2 of those 2nd rounders for our 21st...I would seriously have to consider it!
