StillUnknown
When's Pacquiao facing Campbell? You'd think they'd fight, wouldn't you? Campbell's not a big enough name to draw interest from Pacquiao. it would be one helluva fight though. Campbell don't back down from anyone. he's figting in september the 135lb division will have 3 FOTY type fights in back to back weeks in september: Sept 6th: Juan Diaz vs. Michael Katsidis Sept 13th: Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Joel Casamayor; Nate Campbell vs. Joan Guzman that is 2 damn good weeks of boxing:notworthy
ACW
How the hell is Casamayor number 1 in the ring rankings for lightweight? Is it because that was before Pac moved up and hasn't beaten Casamayor in that weight class yet? But yeah, Pac's one champ, Nate's the champ of the other 3, and Casamayor's the ring champ. I'd think at least 2 of those 3 would fight each other...
StillUnknown
De La Hoya/Pacquiao is not going to happen. DLH wanted a 70/30 split, Pacquiao was willing to go 60/40 in favor of DLH. kinda unfair for DLH to ask for 70% when Pacman is a proven draw in his own right. 60/40 is more than fair imo. no word yet on who Oscar will target next for his last fight. i doubt he gives Margarito the payday because Margarito could actually do some serious damage to him, and he won't want that possibilty in his last fight. unless something drastic happens in the near future, Pacquiao is going to fight Humberto Soto Nov.

Oscar need to pick on somebody his own size. But that's besides the point, who does Oscar think he is to want a 70/30 share? I don't blame Pacman; it's insulting considering he's a top draw in his own right.
GrimReaper21
OK. To answer you question ACW, forget about all the so-called champs...They don't mean anything...you have to go by lineage...Going back a little bit, Freitas was champ, Corrales beat him, then Casamayor beat Corrales, just bc Casaymayor gets stripped of his titles for bs reasons from the organizations, and they divy them off, doesn't mean he isnt champ...He is THE CHAMP. Period...Marquez is fighting Casamayor, and if he wins, he woudl be THE CHAMP...then im sure if that happens, Pacman will fight Marquez sometime next year for the recognized championship...hope this helps... GrimReaper21
Yes, it would...It's very confusing...Hopefully they will one day go away, until then, we have to try, as boxing fans, to see the big picture...
Chachie
Thanks GR. Man, boxing would be SO much easier without the Big 4. The really sad part is that fans were pissed when it was a big 3 and then it got even worse. 4? Ridiculous.

StillUnknown
Margarito vs. Clottey II is happening sometime in November. as much as i wanted the Margarito/Williams rematch first, i can't complain about this matchup. Clottey was whipping Marg's ass in their first fight before he broke his hand. Marg has improved alot since that fight, so this rematch should be a great fight. Hopefully, Paul Williams gets the winner of this fight

Let them fight (I assume it'll be for Margarito's title?), and then let Paul face the winner (if he doesn't move up to super/jr mw. I don't see anyone in the next weight class that's ranked in Ring's pound-for-pound).

ACW
Good for Punisher. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=17100&more=1 Seems like Paul could've taken an easier fight. StillUnknown
this weekend is a great one for boxing: tonight is the season finale of Friday Night Fights. James Kirkland, one of the best prospects at 154, is fighting. Kirkland has an ultra aggressive style, fighters like him don't last long, but while they're fighting, they are usually must see fighters. he is trained by former female boxer Ann Wolfe. they're doing a info piece on her training methods as well, they do some old school, crazy training with their fighters saturday night on HBO: Jorge Barrios vs. Rocky Juarez Juan Diaz vs. Michael Katsidis Diaz/Katsidis is a must watch fight, it has fight of the year potential. you got two guys who don't know how to go backwards. guaranteed fire works in this one. i highly doubt it last 12rds. StillUnknown
Big night of fights tomorrow night: HBO PPV: Joel Casamayor vs. Juan Manuel Marquez Sergio Mora vs. Vernon Forrest Showtime: Nate Campbell vs. Joan Guzman Timothy Bradley vs. Edner Cherry i'm most interested in the Campbell/Guzman fight. i've been a fan of Guzman since he was a prospect working his way up the ranks. i'm also a fan of Campbell and his work ethic. Guzman is undefeated and is a very slick boxer/puncher. he completely outboxed and ultimately dominated Humberto Soto, who's one of the best at 135 in own right. Campbell has a history of of giving undefeated fighters their first loss though. should be a great fight, but i'm taking Guzman in a close decision. my picks for the fights: Juan Manuel Marquez by split decision (two talented boxers, but Casamayor seems to have dropped a step or two in his last couple of outings. i think Marquez will handle the jump in weight fine) Forrest by unanimous decision (forrest is past his prime, but i can't stand Mora) Bradley by TKO, rds 6-8 (i think Bradley is the better boxer, Cherry Bomb has some major power, but i think Bradley will able to stay away from it. Guzman by unanimous decision (campbell is a warrior, but Guzman has is a slick boxer with fast hands and good head movement)
