Major Harris
portis isn't done he's just not in game shape, and you don't always get in gameshape by playing games. don't look now, but the season is almost 1/2 over. not in game shape? pathetic, but true. tex
Portis is done. This is not the same Portis we saw back in 2005. I think we will end up cutting him because he is going to cost 9 mil next year.I have a gut feeling we will sign Michael Turner to replace him. No more stinking high dollar free agents. Lets find a stud and draft him.

9_to_42_td
I wonder how many people still think Portis is an ELITE back. He was when we played Philly and has been going down hill from there. So has the rest of the offense.

kleese
Portis has hit that point: I do believe that he plays all-out, but his body just can't keep up. There is no explosion, no threat. Age means NOTHING when it comes to RB's. It's all wear and tear. Portis has a lot of "wear" at this point. Do I think his career is over? No. I still think he can be a serviceable RB, mostly in a two-back system. But his days as a clear #1/top RB are long gone.

MeNoRevs
But Portis is so good speaking to the Media, dressing up in funny costumes and does cool dances in the endzone.

Veretax
I agree that Portis is done. he doesn't run with conviction and seems to go down after first contact. Turner could be a good choice. It is just sad to see the state of this offense right now. I need more beer. I don't think Portis is done, but he is looking not 100% out there. That much is sure, I think he's on the decline that is a given.

SlinginSammy HOF '63
I personally think we need to look in the draft for a RB. But we have D and O line issues too.

DiscoBob
It will cost more to cut Portis this coming year (if he's not a June 1st cut) than it will to keep him. If we cut B Lloyd, like everyone expects, there is no way we could take both cap hits. Expect to see him next year....

eljeasel
Im sick of these Philly fans ignoring the struggles of the ENTIRE OFFENSE. it will be really great when we cut Portis and the 27 year old running back goes to philly and kicks our teeth in

frommd
I'm personally in favor of cutting the entire team and firing all the coaches after every loss. This will save time in having this debate after every game.
