deejaydana
Only Congress $pend$ money with more reckless abandon than our Front Office. Wow, do we look like idiots for this whole deal---the highest paid safety EVER in the game. It just gets passed on to the fans on game day... The Sisko
i was hoping for 5th. 6th round picks are useless. ...and da Bears pick will be at the very end of the 6th round, i.e. a 7th round pick. However, I guess that's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
jimster
Actually we do. Our cap hit would be a lot higher to cut him than it would be to keep him on the roster. OTOH at his age Arch wants to play as much as possible since he probably doesn't have a whole lot of seasons left to play. Doing a deal works out for everyone in this situation. true. We get cap relief and he gets to play in a system that suits him.

RunClintonRun26
Let's just hope we use the 6th rounder effectively . . . Oh, and I hope not one person who wanted him to go so badly complains if he does well next year . . . Because like I have been saying since the beginning, I always wanted to keep him. ibrahim
Wait, its reportedly for a conditional 6th rd pick. this means its a 2008 6th rd pick right? Depending on how well Arch plays for them. If so, this is really bad.
REDSKINZ-RIDEORDIE
Dam, I wanted a higher pick then that. I was hoping for a 4th or 5th rounder. You guys think we could have done better?
RWJ
Somehow, someway I hope we get sometype of cap relief?

deejaydana
he's was the fifth highest. Actually at the time I believe we made him the highest ever. I hope you're not trying to defend the deal either way. It reeks and so do we for orchestrating it...

It was bad enough it was a 6th rounder for this year, but at least it was for this year. I hope that isnt correct.
lovetoaster
50 bucks says he is NOT a pro-bowler next year. He won't be a pro-bowler, but he will play a whole lot better in Chicago. I know...he can't play much worse...but he will be a playmaker once again.

It reeks and so do we for orchestrating it... I'm not defending the money, but he hasn't been the "highest paid safety ever" in a year that people like to always throw in for dramatic effect. - I'm so tired of hearing that. Let's just move on.

boofMcboof
Well, aside from some bad memories and grief we didn't lose anything and bought ourselves a sixth rounder by signing him last year. Good job front office! :applause: I'm easily appeased.

kwitt
Are you people nuts? You are complaining that it is only a sixth rounder? I think we should give them back the sixth round pick just for taking this bum off our hands.
