UpNorth
I was just looking at the official practice times and there is not a single day with 2 practices. In fact, it looks as though there will only be 4 practices before the scrimmage, and only 4 more after that before the game prep starts. Is Gibbs going to be running 3+ hour practices or something, or do the coaches just feel that they can get adequate evaluation done without 2-a-days? dgreen
You are only looking at the practices that are open to the public. They have two-a-days almost every day for the first couple weeks.
herrmag
I thought I heard Gibbs say in an interview that he will do twoadays every other day, and is mixing in some evening/night practices in as well.
qcraftsman
No Gibbs said yesterday they only have three 2 a days practices this season.
SkinsHokieFan
There are only 3 2 days this year Why you ask? Because of all the work put in during the offseason, all the OTA's and the fact Gibbs was happy with attendance during the offseason program 2 a days were primarily there for getting players in shape. Well players come to camp in shape now, and with the work put in during OTAs the mental stuff is there All 2 a days really do now is increase the chance of injuries. ouvan59
No Gibbs said yesterday they only have three 2 a days practices this season. From what I understand he said part of it was as a reward for having such good attendance in the offseason workouts.
UpNorth
OK so they are doing some then.....but yeah three isn't many....that bumps it up to 11 practices....plus the scrimmage I guess.... Are there 2 practices today?

FunBunch7
I LOVE THIS! At this stage, I don't think they players need 2 a days...plus this reduces the chance of injuries and wear and tear...keep em' fresh I say.

cphil006
They will follow every two-a-day with a one-a-day. They will alternate.

stwasm
Have you walked outside lately? The jog from the locker room to the practice field would be enough to kill our linemen.
panthro
gibbs is looking at what is best for the team over the long haul. with every sport, there has to be a focus on peaking at the right time. he expects the team to be playing in january. he also has to consider some of the older starters who he want to be around (i.e., healthy) come playoff time. starting off the way he is ensures that the team won't peak too early and won't be "tired" by january. pjfootballer
Hot all over. here in SC they are saying 96, 96,98, 98, 96 with heat indexes above 100. The Panthers are down here in Spartansburg. Hope they are roasting.
