Why no 2-a-days?

I was just looking at the official practice times and there is not a single day with 2 practices. In fact, it looks as though there will only be 4 practices before the scrimmage, and only 4 more after that before the game prep starts. Is Gibbs going to be running 3+ hour practices or something, or do the coaches just feel that they can get adequate evaluation done without 2-a-days?

There are only 3 2 days this year

Why you ask? Because of all the work put in during the offseason, all the OTA's and the fact Gibbs was happy with attendance during the offseason program

2 a days were primarily there for getting players in shape. Well players come to camp in shape now, and with the work put in during OTAs the mental stuff is there

All 2 a days really do now is increase the chance of injuries.

gibbs is looking at what is best for the team over the long haul. with every sport, there has to be a focus on peaking at the right time. he expects the team to be playing in january. he also has to consider some of the older starters who he want to be around (i.e., healthy) come playoff time. starting off the way he is ensures that the team won't peak too early and won't be "tired" by january.
