Which Player Are You Most Eager To See In '06?

Wow...what a hard question to answer. Look at the receivers we have now. They all look to have the potential to be great. I expect that with Moss having other receivers to take the pressure off of him, he should be able to do great things. And Lloyd will be a highlight reel all by himself. We know that Cooley will be good again, and reading comments about David Patten from our coaches has me excited about him as well. And ARE is another highlight reel. How can anyone choose from among the receivers? So I won't...except to say it will be really great to watch Brunell (or whoever is QB) have so many great options to choose from. Our QB should have a great year as long as our O-line holds up. Which brings us to Portis...with theses receivers, the D's won't be able to stack the line, so he will have an awesome year along with our other RB's. Again, how do you choose a favorite. As Portis was quoted as saying...choose your poison! So...my vote...I can't wait to watch Saunders Offense in action!!!

And what about our Defense? The coach makes our D work so well. It makes many of the players stars because of the system and how well it works. It will be great to watch ST unload on a few people though! Our new players on D should make the system work much better...so...like my vote on Offense...I can't wait to watch GW's Defense in action.

My great hope is that we have the #1 offense, which will keep the defense off the field. This should translate into lots of wins since our defense has been the strength of our team the last two years. If the offense becomes the strength of this team this year, it will be hard for anyone to beat us.

To heck with August, I can't wait for Sept. and our game against the cows.

Offensively, I think if one of the two WR acquisitions makes a splash than the skins are gonna be set for a long time. So whether or not it is Brandon Lloyd of Randle-el who steps up, I would love a big season from one of them.

On Defense, I think Rocky McIntosh could have a huge impact on the success of the unit. It sounds from interviews as though Williams wants to use Rocky in a coverage oriented role, although he tends to use defensive players in every way imaginable. By doing that, it would allow more freedom to bring Washington and Marshall on the blitz, and even give more opportunities to blitz the safeties. If he has the kind of season which has him in the running for defensive rookie of the year, the skins D will be top 3 in every category.

OFFENSE- Mark Brunell

Brunell is the question mark in the offense. IMO he will do just great as long as he can stay healthy

DEFENSE- Carlos Rogers

I think he will be underestimated by teams this season. He may be better in his second season in the league.

What a tough question. There are too many very talented, exciting players to choose from! The more I look at this team (coaches and players), the more impressive it becomes! This team has the potential to be as good as any team in this franchise's history! This could be a very good year! :D

Newcomers: Lloyd (O) and Carter (D)

Concerning the entire team, I'm most eager to see:

Moss (O) without the double- and triple-teams!

Taylor (D) with a better DL and safety supporting him!

HTTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

first choice: Sean Taylor w/ Adam Archuleta...particularly this tandem against TO who is supposed to me unmatched across the middle. I think he's going to get clocked by this duo and will be too worried about the hit he's about to take to keep his eye on the ball...TO is about to get schooled

second choice: Our receiving corps...I've heard that Saunders is going to be running a lot of 3 receiver sets...with Moss, Lloyd, ARE and Patten (who the coaches say is blowing it up in the offseason) what team has the secondary to cover 3 of those guys on the field with Portis and Cooley on the turf too?? I can't think of anyone...actually, can anyone think of a team in the NFL with a more talented group?? The only team I think is close is Carolina with Smith and Keyshawn...I don't follow many other teams so I don't know who their 3rd and 4th receivers are but I don't think they've got the depth we've got...Furthermore I keep hearing that ARE isn't a very good receiver, that we've overpaid, etc. I think ARE is going to be like Moss...I don't think he was really given a great shot to be a consistent receiver and was always viewed as a punt return specialist...just like Moss...if he ends up our number 2 receiver, I think he's going to shock a lot of folks with his performance.

third choice: Jason Campbell in preseason...up until this season I had heard several pundits and the like saying he looked great in the offseason with the skins...this year, however, I just keep hearing about the fact that he's on his 6th new offense in as many seasons...and I haven't heard anything other than "he's doing ok" so I'm concerned he may not have the goods *this* season and that he may need another year before he's ready for prime time...this would lead me to believe that he'll be third on the depth chart making Collins the back up should Mark get hurt....I'm not sure how I feel about that...some people say he's a great guy to have as a back up and others say he's a clipboard holder at best....I've never seen him play but I have to think that is someone as competent as Saunders likes him, he's gotta have something going on...

all in all, I couldn't be more excited...this is my second year as a season ticket holder and since I live in San Francisco and have to fly to DC for every home game, it's quite the investment...not to mention the cost of my tickets (fortunate I could afford dream seats in row 3 around the 30 yard line)...add in hotel, rental car, etc. plus I bring someone with me from SF at least 4 of those games...and I go to Dallas for the Skins match up...(and Seattle last year for the playoffs!) it sets me back a good $25k a year...and I wouldn't trade it for the WORLD!!!

Hail to the Redskins!!!!

It's a toss up...

Andrea Carter or Rocky McIntosh

Who is Andrea? Is she hot? :silly:

I am looking forward to Portis more than anybody actually. He has high expectations of not only himself but, of the team as a whole. 2,000 yards as a goal just says it all. He is aiming high and I really do not see him disapointing us at all this year.

Portis. Dropped back to his natural fighting weight in an offense that'll let him produce the way he's comfortable producing. Imagine if a team-record setting season is you playing out of your comfort zone...

good point!! and i just ordered a new portis authentic so he better not let me down! HAIL.

for me its portis on the offensive side. i think this is the year he really blows up and i cant wait to see it.

for defense its carlos rogers. he had sparks last year of great play and i think he could really show how great of a player he is this year.
