That is washington state I believe.... DC is ranked 50th...

Edit: Note that Florida drivers are ranked as worse drivers than DC...

I believe the higher the number, the worse the drivers are for that given state/city. Hence, DC being the second worst. :silly:

Not true. It rates from best to worst.....#1 being best.

I know this because the article states this, if you click on the link -

"Oregon tops; Rhode Island worst"

Truer, the higher the number - in "ranking", the worse the drivers.

But that's not to be confused with the other number - their score on the test.

The higher their SCORE, the better the location.

Maybe next time, take a little time to seperate them so it's easier to read, my head hurts now.

For easier reading :D

Ah ok... gotcha I thought it was a ranking by the worst, not the best on down...

Actually DC is semi-ok... the Marylander's freak me out, because they either go 35 mph or 95 mph and they switch back and forth for no apparent reason....

Someone want to highlight where Virginia is compared to Maryland? :)

I'm doing my 'I told you so' dance now

You're from Maryland tho, right ?

Sorry to burst your bubble but Maryland is 18 notches below Virginia.

Another case of mistakenly reversing the ratings ?

That must be wrong...DC drivers are the worst in the nation by FAR!

They will drive on the shoulder and then cut people off at the merge

to make an exit on a daily basis. Then they will cuss you out when

you get mad....these are the WOMAN.

To finish anywhere above dead last, Massachusetts drivers obviously spent several days studying before the test.

There is no region of the country with drivers that even approach the garbage you see in southeastern New England. Maryland and DC are bad -- it's true, and I know that because I lived there for 20 years -- but up here bad driving is a regional pastime and a point of pride. And with this region's 350+ year old roads, Massachusetts and Rhode Island have the greatest bad-driving playing field in the country for practicing their finely honed arts.

I dunno I've lived in VA, MD, DC, SC, and MA now and I think that MD is the worse out of all the above mentioned states. Maybe not in terms of accidents, but mos def in terms of attitude. People in MD have this horrible me first mentally that causes them to drive like complete asses. I like driving normally when I go back to see my friends and waiving people in front of me in traffic and when they are stuck trying to make a turn. It's hilarious to see the shocked look on their faces as they pull out in front of you and then just like the asses they are, they don't wave to thank you :)

It's kind of hard to say MD, DC, or VA. I would basically say PG county (MD)

and all of DC.;) If you really want to see bad driving then you have

to go overseas...Italy (Naples) and Turkey were 10 times worst

than anything I have seen in the states....Imagine DC driving without

any traffic law enforcement!

North Carolina is the worst in my opinion, especially around the Raleigh area. The drive home from school takes me through Louisiana,Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and finally Virginia and North Carolina by far had the worst drivers it appeared. I was cut off an unreal amount of times in that state. You had countless drivers doing Fast and the Furious moves weaving in and out of traffic. It was absolutely unreal.

I know most of you guys probably haven't driven in Hawaii but this state can give any other a run for their money in the bad driver dept. We've cornered the market in little old asain ladies. Nobody follows any highway rules like using the left lane as a passing lane. They just get in the left lane and do 57mph. With the guy to their right doing 58mph.

The last time I went home and drove in MD/VA/WVA I was amazed at how efficently the highway traffic moved.

Real Scientific???? These kinds of polls are silly.

Dude, this was NOT A POLL.

This was NOT Pollster Patrick calling Joe Blow on the telephone and getting an opinion.

This was a logical, scientific, formulated, calculated TEST given to members of all of those states/areas. And it was done by an INSURANCE COMPANY - ya know, those people who scientifically determine your insurance rate based on where you live, and the likelihood of you getting into an accident in that geographical area.

So yea, I'd say it's pretty damn accurate and scientific.

I have to disagree that DC drivers are the worst. After driving in Puerto Rico' date=' DC is a piece of cake.[/quote']

Funny how everyone thinks their drivers are the worst, without having been in every state to equally compare it to. I've been to Puerto Rico, and had no problem whatsoever.

This test is obviously flawed. While Ohio drivers are indeed, nearly listed in the bottom 25%, they are clearly the worst drivers known to man. (There must not have been any questions about maintaining speed or lanes on the highway. I have a theory that all cars imported into the state of ohio are immediately stripped of their cruise control and turn signals, and the steering wheel is doused down with WD40. There's got to be a logical reason why these people drive like ass.)

I've driven through a healthy portion of the continental United States, and if there are worse drivers out there than Ohio, I haven't seen them.
