Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson had 4 rushing TDs each in one game last year for KC. If they kept PH in there instead of pulling him--it would have been broken. Of course, Cy Young's 511 wins is by far the most impressive since Maddux winning 320 tonight is an amazing accomplishment, and he's still 191 wins short of Young. Calling Cal's record "not impressive" is a slap in the face to a player who was willing to lay everything on the field everday, 162 games a year, for 16 years. I think he said 6 rushing TDs by Sayers-- So naturally he had to mean Ernie Nevers, since he had all his TDs by rushing. The 99 yard TD pass is impossible to break. Ripken was an all-star many of those years, meaning while not getting injured for 2,613 games, he was one of the best for many of those games. While normal, every day jobs can be demanding, not too many command the energy and physicality that a sport does. Ripken playing at the top level (for the most part) at a position that takes a heavy, heavy toll on the body, and doing it almost daily for 16 years is not only impressive, it is legendary.
