DCsportsfan53
Excellent, this actually might be one of our best signings this offseason. Nobody on Offense can be sucessful without the O-line being successful and continuity is more important there than anywhere else. Here's to seeing the same o-line on the field for many years to come .
terpfan
I'll be interested in seeing the details of this contract. Good news though. I'd love to see our O-line become what KC was a few years ago (and still is for the most part)

They had the same 5 guys start for almost 3 consecutive seasons at one point which is a major reason why they've been the best line in football. They're getting old though, time for Saunder's new 5 to take that title. They're all in their prime and they're are phyiscally dominant in their own respects. I think our Dirtbags will REALLY start living up to the Hogs' legacy this year.

Posse81
http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=16130 Dockery Set to Return, Signs RFA Tender March 27, 2006 By By Gary Fitzgerald Left guard Derrick Dockery signed his tender offer from the Redskins on Monday, the team has announced. Dockery entered the 2006 offseason as a restricted free agent. The Redskins had tendered Dockery a contract on March 10, one day before the start of free agency. By signing the tender, the 6-6, 335-pound lineman decided not to field offers from other teams this offseason. He could have waited to sign his offer sheet until the restricted free agency deadline on April 21. In recent seasons, teams have become more creative in signing restricted free agents by inserting hard-to-reach clauses in contracts. If another team had attempted to sign Dockery, it could have been difficult for the Redskins to retain him. However, the Redskins would have received a first-round draft pick from that team as compensation for signing Dockery. Dockery is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the 2007 offseason. Dockery entered the NFL as a third-round (81st overall) selection by the Redskins in the 2003 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 48 games during his three-year career, with 45 consecutive starts heading into next season. Last season, Dockery and his fellow linemen helped running back Clinton Portis set a franchise record for most rushing yards in a season with 1,516 yards and most 100-yard rushing games in a season with nine. The Redskins' remaining restricted free agents are wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, linebacker Chris Clemons and cornerback Ade Jimoh. All three have been tendered contracts. Lloyd's tender was picked up by the Redskins in the trade with the 49ers. The Redskins would receive a first-round draft pick if another team attempts to sign Lloyd. Stew
I'd buy a dockery jersey, I like Redskins jerseys in general if I think they will be with the team a while.
DCsportsfan53
Damn, I thought he had gotten a long term deal. I didn't realize it was just that he signed his restricted FA tender sheet.

nonniey
Ah yeah, thats what I thought as well. Next year hopefully. Hopefully, this year he'll get extended. That definately is a weakness of the front office (Extending contracts before a player hits UFA).

WallyG3
Interesting about Lloyd. I didn't realize he's still a RFA. Also - it's important to realize the difference between the words resign and re-sign. Little hyphen, opposite meanings.
