RedskinsFanatic
Whatever happened to that rumor that we might go for him? Is he going to stay in Seattle or was it just that....a rumor and wishful thinking on my part. I would love to have him on the OL for the 'Skins. :point2sky

DonMagicJuan
no $$$ for no hutch even tho he would be a GREAT PICKUP since he plays the left guard!
Art
no $$$ for no hutch even tho he would be a GREAT PICKUP since he plays the left guard! Plenty of money for Hutch. He's just tagged and we don't have the picks to make it go.
RedskinsFanatic
When a player is 'Tendered' wouldn't we have to give them a 1st round pick (which we don't have) or am I wrong on that. ~ Out of all the players out there, I really wanted to get Hutch'. ImmortalDragon
Plenty of money for Hutch. He's just tagged and we don't have the picks to make it go. He's transition tagged, unless the CBA changed how it works, there is no draft pick compensation for transitional tags.
Peregrine
I say, lets call them up, offer them 2 cinnamin sticks and a rubber ducky, and see if they bite. No harm in trying.
HOF44
He's transition tagged, unless the CBA changed how it works, there is no draft pick compensation for transitional tags. I think your right. The transitional tag gives them the right to match any offer he gets, but no draft pick compensation.

If he's transition tagged you're right. I was of the impression he was franchised. Awfully risky for the Seahawks to not require compensation for a guy like that. SkinnedAussie
I'm with you Art. I thought the Hawks had to choose between Hutch and Alexander to franchise, and went with the big fella.
RedskinsFanatic
So in theory we could offer Hutch' an enormous amount of $$ and get him if Seattle couldn't or want to offer him more? Draft picks wouldn't be the issue.

SkinnedAussie
I think his numbers are about $8.5mill.

Draft picks wouldn't be the issue. It would have to be more than just money. It would have to be structure too and some other things that make the deal so difficult for Seattle to swallow they can't match. But, they're ok with the cap even with Alexander I believe. You'd have to convince Hutchinson to put poison pills in meaning he'd really have to want to leave. So, I do suppose anything is possible. However, we are generally pretty set on the offensive line. Dockery isn't as good as Hutchinson, of course, but, the offensive line is starting to come together in a very good way for us, so, it's not really an area we need to replace starters on, though we do need reserves. BadKarma
hope to hear more rumors regarding Hutchinson, we would have the best O-line maybe in the history of the NFL. Kevin Mawae or Bentley would also be nice free agent additions.
SkinnedAussie
Art, have you heard that Dock has not yet signed his offer, and until he does, our OL may not be as set as some think.
Renegade7
The starts for the o-line are set. It's already high quality line, and did it's thing on numerous occasions last year. Do we need depth, sure. Do we need to add an all-pro guard to the mix? Niete.
