The Full Monty
We know Coach Gibbs will prefer to start a veteran. I'm sure there's a chance he could go with a young gun but I just don't see it happening. So besides obviously Vinatieri- All I can think of is Ryan Longwell (31 years old) from Pastabelly's FA List: Despite kicking in a tough environment for nine seasons, has made 81.6 percent of his career field goal tries, has been under 75 percent just twice, and has a 69.2 percent success rate on field goals of 40 yards or more. A reliable kicker with a strong leg. Anyone else come to mind?

TheNewU
vander has bad kickoffs just like hall, hes accurate but not pressure tested, choked in his biggest kick last year. How old is Longwell from the Packers?
Combatant
Anyone that can kick the ball in the endzone during a kickoff, can stay healthy, and doesn't tackle on specials teams (unless last man standing).
Drex
Todd Peterson is also a free agent. He is a veteran who had a pretty good season for the Falcons. Last year's stats: 23 FG 25 FGA 35XPM 35XPA 104 Total Points.

ntotoro
First person to say "Nick Novak" gets his head bashed in with a shovel. Edit: Damnit... I was one post too late.
SRBFan
I'm all for Longwell, if his price is right. After kicking in Green Bay's conditions, D.C. should be cake for him. If none of these guys pan out, there's always Nick Novak...
Frediemac
at 12:02 a.m. I would Sign the PATS KICKER :2cents: Adam Venturini

CPstretch
hall was such a beast his first year here in 2003. we paid a lot for him because our kicking game used to be so shaky. hall might be past his prime and i think its probably a good idea to bring in a big name kicker. skinfan2k
man, when i think about kickers. i really like the david ackers and john kasey but i know they are not free agents. another 1 to think about is kris brown from steelers.

Gallntfox
Adam Venturini AT 12:02 I'd personally go for a guy like Vinatieri instead of a no-name like Venturini.
f_trizzy
What about Cortez to kick off and Longwell for FG. It sucks having to carry multiple kickers but Cortez can reach the endzone on kickoffs he just isn't that good when it comes to FGs.

TimmySmith
Why the hating on Novak? Probably the same people who wanted Akers cut in 1998. Since then we've had 10 kickers who were worse.

putartmonkinthehall
First person to say "Nick Novak" gets his head bashed in with a shovel.Edit: Damnit... I was one post too late. I'll take on the shovel in order to say bring back Nick Novak. He's young and he's got nerves of steel. To make the kick in overtime vs Seattle, than line up again after a penalty and make it from five yards deeper was impressive.

thinker
I think we pass on the "liquored up kicker" from Indy - at least half of his games are going to be in domes - which frankly inflates percentages by taking the elements out of play. We might play in a dome once or twice a year.
Rooblakas
Adam Venateri from the Patriots. If not, I would get Nick Novak back.
No_Pressure
Nick Novak wasn't bad either The guy saved us a kickoff return for a touchdown from Tyson Thompson against the Cowboys in Dallas, and the next (2 weeks...bye)week booted the game winner in OT then cried with joy over it. Not bad? God I wish we never had to get rid of him.
TD_washingtonredskins
On one hand I can really seeing us sign one of the 3 or 4 bigger names out there. However, I would be slightly shocked to see us invest a lot of money in a kicker. I would LOVE to have Vinatieri on our team because I truly believe he'll make 85% of his kicks. However, is having him more important than adding another quality FA or two?
