Most telling difference between Bush and Clinton Presidencies-- Whitehouse

Could there be anything more defining about these two presidencies than whitehouse.com. I first learned about whitehouse.com when I was teaching during the Clinton years. We were warned to stress to our students that it was dot gov, because whitehouse.com was a porn site. However, I discovered in the paper today that all that has changed. Today, in the Bush administration whitehouse.com no longer is a smut site... instead it directs to a home loan site. Now if that doesn't show you the differences between these two men I don't know what well.

I guess it also shows the difference between what you look for when you're running a surplus and a defecit.

Ok....now do you know for a fact that the Bush Administration is responsible for this?....It could be that the company went out of business......even if the Bush administration was responsible, what does that say for freedom of speech? :2cents:

All about who buys the website naming rights first. Years ago I wanted to go to ESPN.com but I typed ESPM instead. It was a porn site, I just checked what it is now and today they sell posters.

I don't think that the website would go out of business since they probably get more accidental hits then any other website on the web. That alone is worth a lot in advertising spaces. What probably happened is enough schoolkids "accidentaly" went there and enough people complained. Since we are a capitalist society, I don't think it would do much, but then again, who knows nowadays.

Actually, the owner of whitehouse.com had an attack of conscience.

He voluntarily took down the porno site in early 2004.
