Hello from Dallas.

Just signed up to say good luck Monday night. No really good luck. For those of us older than our shirt size remember this rivalry through the years. Harvey Martin tossing a wreath in the Skins locker room. Joe running around the endzone rubbing the Boys face in a loss. Rogers last comeback, Ah them were the days.

Dont get me wrong I hate the Redskins. Just as any self respecting Skins fan hates the Cowboys. Don't get angry. It's normal. The way it's supposed to be.

I have been a Cowboys fan for 40 years since I knew what a football was. But so many of the younger fans have no real sence of history behind their hate. They hate ______ because their dad did.

I hope Monday night is a nock down drag out dirty war. I hope the Skins and Boys get in to a fight in the parking lot. I want this rivalry to mean something again. I want some kid in Dallas 10 years from now cussing the damned Redskins for knocking the Boys out of the playoff's. And I want some kid in DC getting sick while watching the Boys winning their 9th Superbowl.

So good luck Monday and may the best team win. And please keep hate alive.

I am in 100% agreement with you. It's time to show the people around here who think our biggest rival is Philadelphia that the greatest rivalry in all of sports used to be Redskins-Cowboys. And nothing would make me happier than to have those days return. Nothing gets me, the fan, more fired up than two fired up teams playing fired up football. Which is what every Redskins-Cowboys game used to be.

May the best team win, indeed.

...

Good thing we're the best team. Ok, ok, sorry, cheap. I know.

I remember The players carrying Dickie James off the field after a Dallas game, I remember two fans running on to the field dressed as chickens and throwing chicken feed at the Cowboys players

I remember Ken Houston stopping Walt Garrison at the goal line as time ran out, I remember Sonny driving the filed then watching the clock as in would down to 3 seconds and calling time out and Gogolack[sp] kicking the game winner

I remember Riggins and the rest of the team dressing in combat fatigues when they when to Dallas in 82, because they were going to war.

I think free agency has destroyed most of the hatred and intensity the teams used to have for each other

Not a 40 yr fan but the first game I ever went to we beat you on a monday night 9-5! Awesome game and the way it used to be... Although I hate you I can respect a true fan from a rival... I hope you enjoy the beating your team takes on Monday!! I hope nobody gets hurt ;) and we shut some of your bandwagon fans up for a few weeks.

One of my worst memories was @ Texas Stadium.. the "No Danny No" game for those old enought to remember. Dallas went for it on a crucial 4th down.. I think Landry wanted a time-out but couldn't get it and Dallas got stuffed. I think this was the same game that Michael Downs and Dennis Thurman attempted to break up the corny fun bunch celebration..

I think the game will be very entertaining.

I hate Dallas with a passion for many reasons and my family isn't the only reason. Though we have a tradition of Cowboy hate. Since about 95' or 96' Iv'e been watching football and I've never liked Dallas. They always seemed so ****y and flashy to me. I hated that, and worse they were always playing my hometown team, and beating us! I started playing football because I wanted to play for the Skins and help them beat Dallas. I am about to begin college football now and I still have that dream.

Till this day I still hate evrything about the Cowboys organization; their owner, their coach, their fans, their stadium, their cheerleaders, their alternate jerseys, their logo, their ball boy, their instant replay operator, thier nickname(America's Team), the way they walk, their hype, the way casual fans hop on them, their spot in the NFC East although they're not in the East, their evil smiles, their five super bowls that their fans always fall back on, and basically the state of TEXAS as a whole.

That was very theraputic for me.:)

Welcome M. Cowboy, thanks for the post! I do love the Redskins and Cowboys match up even though we most of the time get our a$$es kicked..the last 14 out of 15 times to be exact since 1995 when Terry Allen was hurt and then came in Stephen Davis. The reason I know well..I have the article hanging on my wall. What I do is cut out any positive articles on the Redskins and put them together kinda like a collage. If its a win over a team or a trade of some sort for instance the Champ Bailey and Clinton Portis blockbuster trade. I put all of them in a black poster frame that I bought at walmart. I have also a newspaper clip of Chip Lohmiller hitting 5 field goals against the Vikings in Minnesota back in 1991. They made a big deal because he played college there and how well he performed. Anyways Im getting off the subject..about the rivalry.. No other teams have played each other more on monday night. I love the rivalry so much and no other game gets me more pumped up than us playing in Dallas or you guys coming here to Fedex field! I look forward right now to find out the date for next years game against each other..is that wierd? Like 3 years ago I went to a monday night football party at a local casino here in Las Vegas and man do they know how to throw a party. They had jerseys and prizes and etc. Depending on who scored first and stuff liked that..anyways I won a budwieser glass, the problem was that it had a Dallas logo on it. I was so pissed I couldt believe that crap happened to me the one time I win, I get this..I was like :wtf: So nothing unusual the game ended with a Dallas Cowboy victory as always and I was so pissed off you have no idea. As I was walking out I threw the FN glass across the casino parking lot and broke a windshield. I felt like such a dumb a$$! All that because of this rivalry. Next time I hope I dont win a glass hope the prize is a jersey of some sort.. haha..lol!

My 1st memory of the rivarly was the 1974 Thankgiving game and Clint Longly throwing to Drew Pearson with 30 seconds left in the game.

Allen wanting to fight Landry in mid-field.

1983 Int for a TD (Was it Charles Mann ?) in the NFC conference game.

I could go on and on.

This is supposed to be a war between the players, a chess-match between the coaches and bragging rights for the owners, not a war between the fans.

I really don't have anything against cowboys fans, at least, not until they start opening their big mouths, acting like they actually had something to do with the outcome of the game, when in reality, they were not even at the game. Of course, this doesn't include the ones who were really at the game, the screaming big mouths that actually did have something to do with the victory, which is why the home fans are so acurately called the "Twelth Man".

So, unless you were at the game, please remember to love thy neighbor as thy self, and keep your big mouth shut.

Just kiddin', I think (lol)

Thanks for all the unkind words. :D I hope the game is close and exciting Monday, But alas I don.t think it will be that close. Brunell is going to spend more time on his back than a $20 dollar hooker in Sen Kennedys office.

But hey there is one thing we can all agree on. The Beagles suck!. :)

Wow, that's alot of time on his back, but it is slightly less time then Bledsoe will be on his. Maybe Lavar will do ya a favor and hit him so hard he retires too :D .

Oh, and lets not forget the loathesome Giants

I don't know about you guys. But it's hard to actually hate the Giants. It would be like hating a puppy that wont be house trained. You get mad at it once in a while, but you cant bring your self to drag it outside and kick it. :D
