It's not his fault, so don't blame him. I don't think the NFLPA will allow teams to renegotiate contracts to move some money up-front in the event that a team gains more cap space.

You are correct - nice catch. I was originally thinking 8 home games and 3 preseason. So - to save face will you guys grant me 8 home games, 2 preseason games and 1 playoff game so I don't have to re-do my numbers?

Nick

Ten percent agent's commission (i'm guessing the fee) of minus $9 million is minus $900,000. Rosenhaus is worth every penny.

So we have 92,000 fans, half drinking an average of 4 beers at 11 games per season at $7 a piece.

$14,168,000 gross on beer for games.

This does not include draft day, concerts, playoffs or any other special events. Not bad - but I'm sure the net profit on alcohol is very low......The Danny probably does not get a bulk discount on bottles.....poor guy....I feel bad for him.

Think about this...a case of Miller Lite or Bud will run around

$12-13. So for what is spent in 2 beers would be a case

at a grocery store. So a case at the stadium would be $168.

Regardless is gets a bulk discount or not...that is a pretty

good chunk of change.

Few years ago, I talked to a vendor at the Michelob golf

tourney. The brewery is right in Williamsburg, next to the

golf course. Beer was like $6. He told me the PGA sets

the price of beer and other foods.

Not sure if the NFL has a say in the price of concessions

and if they even get a cut.

I really doubt that Rosenhaus was holding him out for a new contract. I bet Rosenhaus doesn't get his phone calls returned either.

So what you are saying is that Snyder is working on slim margins.....like - say an American Car Dealership?

Kidding of course.....I'm sure Snyder, as good a businessman as he is, has Miller and Bud down to ridiculous prices for bulk discounts w/ extended terms and has them financing his inventory.......His margins must be insane. No question his costs are more appreciable than what I'm used to dealing w/.....but I don't get those types of margins.

Must be good to be the king......I'll keep thinking about it.

All of these great posts tonight...you're rapidly approaching 'hero' status...

After all of the ST stuff this weekend, it's a bit like a hangover...the light-tone on a bad situation is appreciated.

Everyone attending a Skins home game during the 2006 season gets their first beer for free courtesy of ST....at each and every home game this year...including preseason.

.....and the remaining $2 mil goes to buying a real jumbotron.....or maybe a charity - Redskins against Guns......

$9 mil = 90K fans x $7 beer x 11 games = $7 mil + $2 mil jumbotron/charity....

That's a lot of money...

I know your formula is just for fun, but it's hard to imagine 90,000 people in one stadium drinking beer. I wonder how many would actually accept a free beer. Not everyone drinks, and not everyone who drinks likes beer, and a lot of spectators at games are under the age of 21. :)

The difference between Winslow and Taylor is that Winslow's default occurred pursuant to arguably sympathetic circumstances, since he almost, you know, died.

how can anyone read that, and still consider them a legit news source

Nick

I absolutely guarantee you there are ways to move cap hits from future years into this year.

Example: Take a player who's carrying a lot of dead money. Let him renegotiate his contract into a shorter one (accelerates the dead money faster) and gives him a roster bonus or bigger salary this year.

Now, will we do that? Face it: We won't know how this works out 'till we hear the verdict, which may not be 'till next year (barring plea bargains).

Don't count Danny's money, yet.

Must be nice to lose $52,500 (in less than a 5 month period) in fines to the league and not bat an eye.
