I don't feel the that I have to like every move the new FO makes in order to give them the space and leeway to make their own success and mistakes. Quinn is low on my list and I would not be stoked w/ his hire, but that does not mean I am out on new management in any kind of way. They are afforded the opportunity to sink or swim on their own merits first.

I don't have a lot of space between the big 3 prospects so my main factor in choosing a guy was what kind of O did we want to run. Now that Ben Johnson is staying is Det, I'm in straight limbo over here. Quantum Void.

Guh... Even w/o the buzz Slowik is my next in line hopefull.

99% chance our next QB in not a munchkin. That's just super. and Lamar was not a good passer in college. He said he pulled out of the 40 at the combine after the Chargers asked him about switching positions and he didn't want to give teams the data to play around with. The hope with Lamar has always been if he can develop into a decent NFL passer and marry that with his running game he would be special, and that has panned out.

That is comforting. Also Bryce Young looks adorable w/ his little backpack hanging out with the big kids.

I am fearful of every draft prospects combine measurements. College is so bad at exaggerating guys heights and weights. Caleb might end up being Kyler Murray sized. Maye and JD might not be 6'4. It keeps me up at night.

I think the debate around Jayden and making tight window throws got pretty twisted. It’s not about whether he can/can’t. The stats have been posted in this thread over and over. He can do it, and do it well. He just did not have to do it as often as some of the other guys due to being on a stacked team and having the ultimate eject-button w/ his wheels. For me it seems much more a question of how much stock do you want to put in his sample size then whether he can do it not, cuz he absolutely can. Heck, some metric sites have Jayden completing big-time throws at a higher rate then Maye, and he had a ton. Jayden just lacks attempts. He just put up the best passer rating in college football history. Whenever he did choose to throw, the results were more often than not pretty great. It’s just a matter of whether he did it enough for a front office to reliably put confidence in the ability. Goes back to my #1 fear w/ JD of buying flash vs consistency.

Interesting tidbit in the last couple of cut-ups of Maye. When he speeds up his mechanics he stops stepping and starts hopping. He goes from steps - to happy feet - to bunny hops. I'm not talking about a hop to snap the body into throwing position either, I'm talking maneuvering in the pocket via hops. Its something you only really only see from the short QBs. Not sure if the hopping thing is good/bad ultimately, it could be a vestige from when he was not 6'4. In the end, It probably don't mean much. Maye has to do a lot of work involving his mechanics at the next level anyways so it can be eliminated if need be w/ coaching and practice. It it is certainly different to look at tho for a guy his height.

I'm a dude who put stock in the idea that Ben was not a 100% lock (very likely tho) and that Schefty info still sent a shiver down my spine. Schefty is law and if he says it can go a diff direction, it can absolutely go a diff direction.

I hope a couple of the peeps pounded some protein before this workout
