  1. I don't think it has to go much farther than: -Guy w/ a dump truck load full of XP working with talented young QBs suddenly becomes available. -Team that is 99.989% likely to draft a young talented QB probably massively desires that XP and jumped at the opportunity to get it.
  2. I severely doubt the one guy who for once as a #1 overall pick will not be forced to go to a team that is absolute dogwater will choose to punt on the opportunity but I will acknowledge that hiring Kliff makes that 2% more plausible given their connecting thread. That's like a 200% increase in probability!
  3. I'm on board w/ this. Lot of good stuff to like about Kliff. You would be hard pressed to find an OC who is more experienced at working with and developing high value asset young QBs. Mahomes, C. Williams, Kyler, Baker, Manziel, Keenum... Heck of a list. We are putting all our hopes and dreams on our new QB to deliver, this helps give him every opportunity to succeed.
  4. Whelp, Kliff is the OC. As I said I am now changing my standpoint. I think Jayden is our most likely pick at 2 now. Still gotta have the discussion about taking Maye tho, he can run the system as well.
  5. I like the Kliff hire. I like it a lot. He is both experienced and has worked with a metric ton of young QBs. His #1 job will be squeezing everything he can outta our new franchise guy. I like this way better than Quinn at HC. I feel some juice around this hire. I can see the formation of a good pathway to success for our QB. That's huge.
  6. B Rob No matter who the OC is, we will run the ball more than 6 times a game.
  7. No wonder Kliff spent so many early mourning and late hours at work. Who would want to go home to THAT. The more I hear and dig the more I can clown with Kliffy as OC. I would fear for the safety of any videogame/game/ping pong table setup in the locker room tho.
  8. **If we hire Kliff as OC** I think all 3 QBs have the ability to run an Air raid system, and I think all 3 have the athleticism to do at least some running stuff, but its hard not to think that massively boosts the likelyhood of drafting Jayden at 2. Kliff was chasing Kyler Murray outta high school, and said he would take him #1 overall well before he had a job w/ the Cards. You gotta imagine that he has a lot of qualities that resemble his idealized QB. Clearly he values dual threat QBs, and JD is by a country mile the biggest dual threat guy in the draft. I still believe 99% chance Bears take Williams 1, and that does not change. Personally, if we hire Kliff I will go from: "Maye feels like the likely pick but you have to have the conversation about Daniels" to "Daniels feels like the likely pick but you have to have the conversation about Maye"
  9. I can see the light around Kliff at OC. You could do a lot worse than him. He has had the opportunity to work with a good amount of high profile young talent across college and the NFL so he is no stranger to working with a young guy. He has been around -Pat Mahomes and Johnny Manziel (when he won the Heisman). -Caleb Williams this year -Kyler in the NFL He has XP w/ dual threat QBs so I would not be afraid of pairing him w/ Jayden Daniels. He does not limit our choice at QB like some OCs would. There is certainly some good fat to chew on. I'd like to ask him how he will alter his approach w/ young QBs after Kyler (restrict access to Call of Duty and lock them into film rooms is my guess)
  10. Kelly would be on a freight train to Jayden Daniels city. Kelly has red flags so significant that it is likely he will never be a head coach in the NFL again. While you don't have to worry about other teams poaching your OC, you gotta figure its not even worth the headache to deal w/ his laundry list of problems.
  11. If teams don't give out handshake agreements before they can technically hand someone the job how can we be confident in Kubiak going to the Saints? Wouldn't that be "super illegal"?
  12. This vid says its Boras and he found out before his agent did. 9:13 mark
  13. You truly understood the futility of your post and made it anyway... It didn't have to go down like this...
  14. Huge get. I liked DL Hall so I'm really hoping this turns into more than a 1 year rental, but I can't argue at striking while the iron is hot.
  15. I really hope they don't plan on testing the extreme limits of new regime leniency. I'm not bashing them over the head w/ a lead pipe for Quinn but c'mon, don't take a mile when I give you an inch.
  16. Cost of being the best. Gotta pay the piper. One of the few times I will disagree w/ Shefty. If you don't want a first time head coach to pair w/ a first time GM, you don't schedule a bunch of 2nd interviews with first time HCs after hiring your GM. The may have valued Quinn's coaching experience, but that clearly was not some end all be all.
