Loved how Mariota touched on his value as a mentor to other QBs if called upon. That was huge for me in terms of the Vet we were gonna bring in. It was my #1 mandatory quality. Marcus has been in situations where the team had a young signal caller that was understood to be "the guy". Last year in Philly w/ Hurts comes to mind. He knows how this is gonna work. He said he would always like to start as a competitor but made sure to point out that he wont let his own ego get in the way of what is best for the team. Side note, age looks like it hit Mariota w/ a stick. Man's got Salt-n-Pep hair lol That suit choice don't help either. Old soul. Had to double check if he still had those legs last year, and he does ^^. I'm a happy camper w/ this. I wanted Mariota for years.

That saves like 1.5 Mil this year... and I believe we don't get those savings until June 1st so its not like we can put it to use any time soon. That seems amazingly unnecessary.

I don't think we trade Howell just to trade him, it would take someone desperate overpaying and prying him off of our roster. I think we'd be perfectly fine holding 3 QBs. Unless someone wants to send a 3rd our way, and given recent trades like Jones and the non-existent market for Fields I don't think Howell fetches nearly that much, he will be here this year. Dropping him aint worth a 6th.

He is not really coming around to anything. His whole schtick is college offense in general is crap and does not allow QBs to make regular consistent NFL reads/mannerisms/throws. Man hates him some college coaching
