    Kdawg, do you think breakout age matters much for Leggette? He did very little before this year.

    I’d love Fuaga or Leggette. I’d bet both are first rounders though. If we draft Williams I think if we draft Williams we should 100% focus on building an offense. Interior OL should be easy to shore up, but we need solutions at tackle and playmakers at WR, TE and RB. Let the defense suck. Field a top 10 offense and finish with a top 10 pick again because the defense is 31st. Fine. Gets us higher draft picks to finish the team later anyway. I think we are probably looking at 2 years of high draft picks.

    Does anyone else look at Drake Maye and think his likely ceiling is Jared Goff? Their college stats are comparable. Comparable size and arm strength. Maybe Maye is a tad faster. Watching Goff play today just made me think of Maye stylistically.

    Imagine this Bears team adding Payne, MHJ, another top 10 pick, with their 2nd back and two 3rds. If I were them, I’d happily swap with us for Payne, the 2nd or 3rd pick overall, a 2nd and a 3rd round pick.

    Is the timing of this hire not going to hurt our draft process? They have to hire a GM who then is going to set a scouting department and then scouting and setting the board are going to have to be squeezed into such a narrow time frame.

    What do we do at QB if we miss out on taking one at the top of the draft?

    I agree with this. I don’t think the top of the qb board is as settled as people make it out to be. Some teams reportedly have Maye as QB1. I could even see Williams not going 1st if he doesn’t do well in the pre draft process. Not likely, but possible. I could see a lot of teams preferring Daniel’s over Maye.

    Which looked like a good decision until he got hurt. Also, I’ll take a swing and a miss over not swinging.

    I think it would probably be worse than that to go to #1. You’d have to pay the QB1 1st overall pick up charge. Still, if they think that Caleb Williams is Mahommes, Drake Maye is Trevor Lawrence and Daniel’s is a project, it may be worth the tax. It’s at least nice to Be in striking distance and have our options open.

    I would not mind in the least if we move up from 3 or 4 to 1 or 2, if the FO particularly loves one of the QB’s.

    If Arizona is picking 2 and wants Harrison, we may be able to swap picks and have our choice of QB2. I hadn’t even considered a draft order with Arizona at 2.

    It occurs to me that if we wind up at 4, we may have to move up so the Giants etc don’t leapfrog us for a QB.

    This is exactly what was so ****ing infuriating when we took the lead. I’m going to be miffed if we win one in the last 2 weeks.

    It’s like you said elsewhere I think. He’s just desperate to get a win for himself instead of going out on a massive losing streak and retiring with a losing record overall. Thank god we play good teams the next two weeks. I wish we would sit some people. Also, no way we don’t go QB in rd one. I feel bad for Sam, but I think he’s done.

    Where are we going to rank when we win tomorrow? Also, if we drop out of range for Jayden Daniels, we may still move back up for him. I’d be very surprised if we don’t take a swing at QB with a new regime.

    I swear to God, I’m going to blow a gasket if we trade Sweat for a 2nd, when we have plenty of cap space, and then use a top 10 pick to replace him. That’s not even treading water. It’s drowning.

    If I’m Josh Harris, Inwouldnt let this ****ing incompetent staff make any long term decisions like trading Chase. I’d make them punt every decision.

    You guys that want to trade Chase for a 2nd or 3rd are out of your rabbit ass minds. Which Commander is having a better season than Chase? He’s a 24yo top 11 pass rusher with the ceiling of a top 2 pass rusher. Maybe Terry is better than him. Maybe. And Terry is 4 years older. Chase is the guy you keep for the next regime to build around on defense. I’d 100% move Allen or Payne first. The only way I move Chase, is as part of a package to move up for my top QB.

    Good thing we didn’t draft Darrisaw. 🙄 Such bad drafting. I really wanted to stay put and take Olave. Nobody wanted Jamin Davis. Nobody here wanted Forbes although some of us talked ourselves into the pick afterwards. It figures that next year’s FA class looks so weak when we have a bunch of money we could spend.

    I totally agree that getting in a totally new coaching staff and FO under new ownership’s is going to help resign guys. Especially if we get some known commodities with great reputations. If I were Chase, I might not want to resign with Ron. I’m glad that’s not the case. Also, we may lose Sweat, but worst case, we lose Sweat and Franchise Chase. I’m absolutely against losing Chase in FA.

    Hot take, Id honestly move Terry McLaurin before I moved Chase. Chase is 4 years younger and plays a position that is harder to fill. People grab FA WR’s all the time. Draft guys in the mid rounds.

    Although…there have been times with Wylie that he’s been so bad that I think a street FA may be better.
