  1. And their salaries add up to his.
  2. Cam Newton took a year in New England, and Rivera will add to the offense next draft/FA with Newton coming on. Alex Smith will be released at the end of the season. Plenty of cap space.
  3. If you're going to break down a play...
  4. Everett was in on that play. C'mon man. He dropped down and probably would have been beaten on that post, but that was his route to take and Collins needed to stay with the outside receiver. Only two receivers were running deep, and the offensive weapons are lined up to start on Collins side. He needs to show a better understanding of cover 2.
  5. Whitworth is special. Really blossomed in his thirties. Also thought Jason Peters was done many years ago, particularly after the achilles tear.
  6. I really don't think it's a debate. KPL has been the only good player in those units. Collins is playing like a scrub.
  7. But is this even true? Has he been better than KPL? Heavens no.
  8. Why can't he understand his responsibilities in a cover-2? An All-Pro safety should understand the basics.
  9. Have we seen enough at this point to classify the signing of Collins as a huge mistake? The money was always too much for a box safety, and now he's targeted by the offense as a weak link. Not quite in the realm of Adam Archuleta, but he's supposed to count 17 million next season, and they would save $4 million of that cutting him. Shocked that we're picking on Apke when the highest paid defender is one of the worst players on the team.
  10. Exactly. Ismael likely to play next year. Similar to how everything went down with Roullier.
  11. I am not tapped in enough to know whether they would think of seeing Martin at RG for a few games, or whether Ismael enters into the equation with Roullier moving to guard.
  12. First off: I'll bet I'm better at nuance. Second: Confirmation bias. You are seeing what you want to see too. Third: Jim Irsay has been the annual winner of worst NFL owner for a long time. Listen...I'm not saying I automatically assume everyone with disproportionate amounts of money are jerks, but most often there's a reason they got there. And without a good amount of smarts and luck over a long time, it's hard to get to that point without a predatory relationship with your environment. I'm just calling it what it is. These teams are toys for the uber wealthy. Some of us further the profits of the owners by purchasing exorbitantly priced merchandise, tickets and concessions. I contribute through this website (advertisement/third party dollars) and some years I have used DAZN, but otherwise I have time for the highlights these days and therefore the advertisements/third party dollars via YouTube. Me? I'm all about the game. I watch the NFL for the elite level of competition. I like seeing us humans perform at a high level. Doing what we should be doing, as individuals, and finding our highest levels of personal performance. That extends beyond sports. I'm past worrying what's happening beyond that.
  13. So.... Christian - Schweitzer - Roullier - Martin - Moses ?
  14. Dude.... If you think it's a slam dunk that he's the worst in the NFL, you need to do some digging. If you want to be righteous, don't follow professional sports because there are few saints.
  15. Are any of the billionaire owners truly good people? It is what is. Most exciting team in a long time. From the front office to the coaching staff to the players.
  16. I hear you on this point, and yet I am struggling to see Allen as a long-term piece aside from the leadership. Keeping him st 3 tech over someone more athletic like Payne is likely a mistake. No issue with Ioannidis and Settle on the nose.
  17. When Gibson motions from the slot to the backfield, it will be hard not to. Without a TE threat, I think that will embolden teams to do it all the more. Other starter out wide will be a rookie.
  18. Like others have said, it's nice to cash in on a third rounder right away with the history of wide receiver busts. No doubt Terry is a legit #1. Teams quickly treated him that way. You can't double Terry all the time when you have 8 in the box (Gibson and Peterson).
  19. Suspect you'll see it often with the plan to use two runningbacks featuring Gibson heading to the slot pre-snap.
  20. You want to carefully manage expectations, and I see your point, but it's hard to see him doing poorly with the depth along the line. The advantage of a 34 to 43 conversion is the defensive line gets a boost. If he's not being talked about as DPOY, then something else went horribly wrong along the way. I like how they filled out the back end and keeping costs down. Hoping they are eyeing a FS next year on day 2.
  21. Media should just move on to picks 3-5, because that could get interesting. Instead, they will attempt to generate buzz about 1-2.
  22. x - Doctson, Quick z - Richardson, Harris, Davis y - Crowder I would expect Quick and Harris to know multiple positions, Davis I think they'll keep as a long-term project at Z.
  23. If he plays >14 games next season and gets some accolades, his value is higher. If he's healthy, he will have a monster season in Gruden's offense with Smith's accuracy in the short game.
