  1. They do need someone to play outside in 3WR sets. For this year, it could be Cam Sims. 3rd rounder could do it too.
  2. I think there is a considerable difference. I used to be enthralled by the NFL salary cap and spent a long time getting into it. OverTheCap let me down too many times. As far as not spending right to the cap, I disagree. Big money deals were just signed and the cap will grow even more than originally predicted pre-covid. Major sports took a hit but we're one of the only draws for viewership. The league held considerable leverage and cashed in. It was going to be ~15-20 million higher this year. Next year should be considerably higher with huge year-to-year growth.
  3. Spotrac is the most accurate for NFL. CapFriendly for NHL, for instance. Spotrac has WFT with $20.9 million in remaining cap. With 'top 51' calculations, the draft picks could cut that number down to ~$15.5MM. Even if we go with 15 and change, that amounts to Fitzmagic and Jackson's Y1 cap hits. Mid-level starting QB and the top corner in free agency. Looking at last year, that 15 (in a year with a higher cap) gets you Fuller, Darby, Thomas, Schweitzer, McKissic, Lucas. They could easily add 3-4 players like the 6 listed for last year.
  4. Ideal reserve SS. Versatility to play both spots, but much better in the box. Special teams captain. In his case, I see Doughty+ rather than the Doughty- as in Reaves' case.
  5. He's a replaceable reserve FS. Doughty-like. Has his limits and doesn't look on par with starting calibre talent. They should be grabbing Boston, drafting a day 2 player to develop into a starter and let Reaves occupy the 5th safety spot.
  6. And he heated up toward the end. There were some brutal drops on key downs, particularly early in the season. He's a low-end starter with potential to be above the league average.
  7. Yeah, think this is one of the busts. Probably shouldn't have already written him off but there are always flops in every draft. Harmon isn't a factor at all, imo. Be surprised if he's on the roster this year (maybe PUP'd).
  8. I think that ship has sailed. They are still building up and luckily they are being aggressive this offseason to hopefully allow next year as a 'net loss' year. I said 3-4 major adds through FA, and think it more likely to be 5 at this point.
  9. For sure. I think with where the WFT pick is in the first (19) and the talent available, you'll see the BPA there. Charles then will be competing for the LG spot both short and long-term. More and more, it's looking like OT v CB v MLB in the first. In that order.
  10. Very happy with the off-season so far, adding a: QB CB1 WR2 Add two more starters at LB and FS, and that's an A+ for me. With Fitzmagic, the need for a great LT is lessened, but I do think their first round choice will be there.
  11. Great stop-gap. Ideal Heinicke mentor. Strong system fit. Hope they hold off on QB in the draft. Wait another year or two.
  12. Didn't think I would be of this mindset, but hoping Trent Williams is a key target. LT Williams WR Fuller/Samuel/Golladay LB Wright/Brown/Morrow FS Boston/Joyner/Harris
  13. I could see Darby getting a four year deal to bring down that first year average. Collins is gone in 2022, so it is a temporary issue. The talent of this team is 2-3 years away from being paid, and that creates a window for more free agent additions. Coach has a better idea of who he has after his first season and typically that does mean new blood. I see 3+ major adds. FS MLB OG/OT WR TE I see them being aggressive.
  14. I will lose my mind if they sign Allen long-term. Give that money to Allen Robinson/top talent FA, get a couple of draft picks by trading Allen and see what Ioannidis can do as a starter.
  15. Yeah, Herbert was my guy last year. Still happy with the choice of building the D first. It's almost there, and look what the Bucs did with three tiers of defense. Darnold, to me, reminds me too much of Jason Campbell. A Mariota style option would be interesting, but I also wouldn't be surprised if it's Alex Smith than Heinicke to a first round QB in 2022. Maybe that hint of a trade down in round one this year to stock up for next year has some validity.
  16. I think it's over with Stafford moved. They'll roll with Heinicke, Allen, and Smith provided he is healthy. Lame. Keeping the draft picks and building the O-line will be nice.
  17. You have to think that Steve Sims is in danger of getting the axe. Got an extended look with too many negative plays at key moments. I heard a lot of talk about route-running improvement, but it was sloppy. Seems as if he and Wright are on the outside looking in based on this past year. #1 McLaurin #2 FA #3 Gandy-Golden #4 Harmon/C. Sims #5 Draft pick
  18. Moses can play LT in a pinch, but only a pinch. He probably has 2-4 years left of NFL calibre play. Better to give him a 2 year extension or let him walk after this season. Likely ends his career around age 33. Interior OL traditionally play longer.
