  1. One of the most exciting things about this pick is that we will see Samuel in the slot and in the backfield more. D.Brown will play right away and work his way to a true WR2. Really exciting group now.
  2. 1 McLaurin 2 D.Brown 3 Samuel 4 Humphries 5 AGG/Cam Sims 6 KR specialist
  3. Cam will stick around for this year, but the others are gone and should be. This is the true deep threat. Love it.
  4. I have a hard time believing any corner they draft could be as bad at catching as Carlos was.
  5. Short shuttle and 3-cone is really strong. The athleticism is there.
  6. Really like this pick. More likely Fuller plays more nickel and FS.
  7. Not a reach. Look at the measurables. Super excited. He and Holcomb can be a stellar pair. Defense is going to be hard to beat this season. Legit top defense in the NFL. How can you not trust the resumes of RR and Del Rio when it comes to LB play?
  8. First thought was that the Dolphins converted 6M into a signing bonus for Flowers, and I'm not sure whether the rules of the various tags allow a team to do that.
  9. They may want a top talent FA next year. That may factor into the decision. In that case, no comp picks. If they want a return, he'll have to be traded at the draft. Contract is too big to take mid-season.
  10. With the $6 million kept by the Dolphins, this is dead on. Washington pays him $3 million to (likely) start for the year and gets to decide whether the $10 million next year is worth it. I do think a deal like this is the benefit of an experienced front office.
  11. Yes. Agree. But still see why others think Scherff could go. 2 yr19M contract but you can get out whenever. That's definitely a starter. Played at LG, probably will play there again. Which means... You could trade Scherff and have Schweitzer and Charles compete for the job. Everything could stay the same. Charles could be a swing G/OT for another year until you find his spot. To me, they're tipping their hand that LB is the move in the first. Either way, Scherff's days here are numbered.
  12. I hope he does take that next step, and Sweat another half step to his sophomore jump. The line needs to take over more games, and it starts with Young moving forward.
  13. I'm a hopeful type too, but he was clearly a go-to for opposing QBs last time he was playing. Not that the assignments were easy, per se. I just don't think he has "it". It was clear as a rookie that Holcomb did, and needed the development time (training and coaching). A lot of times, I think it's easy enough to see that imaginary line as to whether a player has what it takes to be a starter.
  14. I think they're done at receiver. Outside shot of a day 2 pick, but otherwise I see Cam Sims and AGG getting a year to prove what they have on the outside. If Humphries is healthy and effective, they may not see too many snaps anyway. Rather use that day 2 pick on a TE.
  15. Is he better than Lucas was last season? I'd rather roll the dice with him and a plan B of Saahdiq Charles. To me, it's round 1 or nothing for LT and this is probably the best year to get it done before using draft capital to get a QB. I'd rather the MLB, but I do feel LT is the target and that may have a lot to do with it too.
  16. Why any of you expect these billionaires to be decent people is beyond me. One joker for another. Who cares?
  17. Tackling technique isn't great, but he went up against plenty of talented receivers. Clearly need someone behind Jackson. But, I think you're right that there's a lot to like. It is an interesting pick-up. Maybe good enough to get Fuller working in the slot on key downs. Think they'll draft a corner in third round this year, and here's hoping that player transitions quickly.
  18. I remember doing these 20 years ago...maybe my memory is failing.
  19. I think there is a considerable difference. I used to be enthralled by the NFL salary cap and spent a long time getting into it. OverTheCap let me down too many times. As far as not spending right to the cap, I disagree. Big money deals were just signed and the cap will grow even more than originally predicted pre-covid. Major sports took a hit but we're one of the only draws for viewership. The league held considerable leverage and cashed in. It was going to be ~15-20 million higher this year. Next year should be considerably higher with huge year-to-year growth.
  20. Spotrac is the most accurate for NFL. CapFriendly for NHL, for instance. Spotrac has WFT with $20.9 million in remaining cap. With 'top 51' calculations, the draft picks could cut that number down to ~$15.5MM. Even if we go with 15 and change, that amounts to Fitzmagic and Jackson's Y1 cap hits. Mid-level starting QB and the top corner in free agency. Looking at last year, that 15 (in a year with a higher cap) gets you Fuller, Darby, Thomas, Schweitzer, McKissic, Lucas. They could easily add 3-4 players like the 6 listed for last year.
