    It’s not something I’ve ever really paid attention to, but this got me thinking - I can’t recall anyone under center in this offense, barking out calls, making changes at the LOS. That is something across the league, I’ve seen reserved usually for rookies or clipboard holders unexpectedly inserted into a game. To suggest that every playcall has the opportunity to work no matter the defense we are facing seems pompous at minimum. It also explains a lot, for those times where we go “WTF did we just run it into the heart of that stacked box?”

    Thank you. The narrative that Heineke is so cerebral, gets the ball out fast or makes a play with his legs regularly is mythical.

    That was my point though. I’m certain the poster was being facetious in that Ron’s explanation wasn’t vague, and that it’s all Carson’s fault- just based on his posting history. Ron didn’t provide a direct answer. You can either audible or not. Explaining that it’s all about progressions is a worthless answer as that’s the case with every offense.

    I don’t really see why he would do this. He’s behind the departures and replacements on the OL, just as he is acquiring Wentz.

    This was my observation as well. Seemed to me this can only help the OL and keep defenders guessing. It’s what I thought made the offense look so good against Jax.

    It’s a bit more complex than this for me. I was never sold for certain that Wentz was the answer. Just that he was the best possible option without an anchor of a contract if it didn’t work out. I also respected Ron enough to trust his decisions on the OL to not blow up in our faces. I didn’t even give it a second thought. I wrongly overlooked the drop in talent on the OL. Had I known how awful Turner and Norwell were, that we have no answer for backup center, etc., I never would have thought there was a chance for Carson to rejuvenate his career.

    They asked Ron about this yesterday and I couldn’t understand his response, very unclear. It would explain a lot though, if this so true. Sounds outrageous enough that it could be true here.

    We’re seeing similar to what we saw with Heineke under center the latter half of last season. Only for different reasons. With Heineke it was because they knew he couldn’t make the throws. With Wentz it’s that the OL is giving up immediate pressure and he shrivels. Defenses playing up, a lot of man, getting grabby at the LOS, slowing our receivers down.

    I see this quite a bit. Sounds great in theory. Accept this thing is going nowhere, bottom out, and draft high in what is presumably a QB rich draft. The only dilemma is what the dilemma always is, Dan Snyder has to orchestrate the plan. He not only would have to eat salaries for multiple years on Rivera and all the guys he brought in, he’d have to have a plan to replace everyone with someone better. That’s a lot of big boy moves for a guy who can’t even select the right colors to wear or have his clothes dry cleaned.

    Right, they kind of looked like the Terps blackout uniforms. Terps might be a bit more competitive though.

    Plenty to debate in there. But to suggest the group that was both physically getting pushed back and pushing the line of scrimmage back via penalties did their job is outrageous.

    Citing only 2 sacks and saying they did their job is incredibly disingenuous. Not sure how anyone can watch the game and make such a statement.

    Right, but is Chase really that huge of a loss, that everything fell apart? Norwell and Turner played week 1. I don’t recall them standing out in the ways they have since then. There was a lot of presnap movement in week 1 and I’m not seeing as much of that. It would seem that should help the Oline to give the defense something else to think about.

    I just think it was a team that's not that good (us) catching a team that was slightly more inexperienced off guard. I don't know if the Commies did anything out of the ordinary for that half, they just might have had a decent matchup. Don't forget, we could have easily lost that game if Trevor Lawrence completed some passes. I realize they could have lost that game due to the Jax O leaving points on the board. I’m specifically talking about the offense. It ‘feels’ like we aren’t running much of any of the stuff we were running successfully.

    I’ve come a long way from the guy who got so angry that DJax stepped out at the 1 in that playoff game against the Packers, that I literally thought I was going to have a heart attack. Now I spend half the game in my phone, and can barely muster paying attention once the game takes it’s inevitable direction.

    I’m not even sure which thread this should go in, but I guess it fits here. Remember that first half against the Jags? The offense was innovative, they were utilizing Samuel in all sorts of ways - he was electric with the ball in his hands. Wentz was getting decent protection and getting the ball out. Generally looked very comfortable in the offense. I was all-in on the Turner/Wentz bandwagon. It’s almost unbelievable, even for this team, how the wheels have just fallen entirely off so quickly. I’d love to hear from anyone that is watching the all 22 week after week, what their thoughts are on how things have went south like they have. Since that time, Turner has been dialing up garbage, Samuel is MIA, all that presnap theater is gone, the offense is plodding, Trai Turner struggles to block air, and the list goes on.

    The culture here was a bit different than your traditional pro football team culture, as evidenced by the congressional hearings. When he accepted the job, he had no idea how bad it was going to get. Add the cancer. It’s been anything but your normal head coaching gig. I disagree that we are no closer to a winning culture. I think cleaning up the org will help the next poor soul to think they will be the one to instill a winning culture.

    I once had a coworker that I hated, to the extent they chewed crackers too loud. Thats what hating on Ron’s sideline demeanor equates too. If he was winning, nobody would care what he looks like on the sidelines. 🤣

    I think Rivera probably deserves to be fired and most likely would elsewhere. But I find it impossible to get on the bandwagon, because then I’m rooting for Dan to get to choose another fall guy for the org.

    Most of todays problems were isolated to our corners, primarily WJ3. Just an all around trash can on the other end of highlight reels.

    I ran that one back today too. It’s not as egregious as the screenshot suggests but still really bad.
