I called them the Redskins this weekend, and my friend who was visiting from out of town was thrown off by it. I wasn’t trying to make a statement or anything. When I think about it, I call them Washington (because I don’t like the name commanders) but I still slip and call them Redskins sometimes but only because when you’ve been saying something for 30 years it’s just a habit. -
Maye was the consensus number two in the media until the patriots started paying people to talk up Daniels in hopes that peters would fall for it and let Maye drop to them. That **** ain’t happening though. Nice try New England. He is still the consensus… nay, the unanimous choice among People that know football… even if they aren’t saying it out loud… because New England is paying them.

Yeah, but the reason he wasn’t pressured very much is because his offensive line was good. It’s not like he’s some super magical quarterback that keeps the defenders at bay with his aura. If Daniels was the starting quarterback behind our offensive line last year, he would have been pressured a lot and from what we’ve seen when he has been pressured, he takes a lot of sacks.

The problem is that style isn’t going to be sustainable for anybody in the NFL and especially not someone with his build. edit: I think somebody said it well in here yesterday. The thing about Maye is there’s nothing that he can’t do. You’ve seen him do it. Now, he needs to be coached up a lot in order to do it the right way consistently but with Jaden Daniels, there are things that an NFL quarterback needs to do that I don’t know if he’s even capable of.

I don’t believe it’s on the film. It’s not on any of the film I’ve watched. Pick out any game from 2023 and you’ll see on pretty much every dropback he’s either throwing it at the top of his drop to the first read, holding it and not going through progressions but waiting for one of his stud receivers to come open when he has a clean pocket, or taking off and running. Now, go back to the year before that and you’ll see him going through some progressions and not bailing at the first sign of pressure but you’ll also see him taking a ****load of sacks.

He is not excellent at handling pressure. He takes his eyes off his receivers and starts looking for run lanes at the first hint of pressure and still takes a higher percentage of sacks. He is terrible at handling pressure and he lacks the strength to break free if anyone gets their hand on him. This is like saying RG3 is better at handling pressure than Ben Roethlisberger.
