Why not? If we made the decision that there are only two players that we would be happy with and we are not trading out of that spot and he’s not one of those two players… If you’ve made your decision on who you are going to hire, you tell the other candidates that they’re not getting the job.

I think there is a non-zero chance that we informed his agent today that Jayden wasn’t going to be the pick. If last night and earlier today were the last piece of the evaluation, and if we indeed did have a lean and it was to stay at number two and pick Maye, it’s entirely possible we finalized our decision and if we did, the professional thing to do would be to let them know. And I could see his agent being kind of pissed if that was the case like, “why did you make my kid come all the way out there to play golf with your favorite?”

Without going back to check whether or not any of my posts have been deleted, confirming what I already know, please accept my apologies. Especially for ramping it up these last few days… It started to look like we were taking Daniels and I was going to have to go back and delete most of those next week anyways. That was the best plan I could come up with to get you to do my work for me.

I think the simple answer, the one that has been smacking us upside the head this whole time, is that Jayden Daniels is a cornball.

Drake Maye is the man. Whether Adam Peters picks him or not is irrelevant. What matters is we all know that if the judges of the Ivy League Parliamentary Debate Championship were making the pick, it would be Maye because I’ve straight up cleaned everybody’s clock in here.

I don’t see it. Maybe he is a better processor when everything is perfect (but I don’t necessarily concede that). Maybe he is an 85 in Madden when everything is great and Maye is an 80 when everything is great. But when stuff starts to break down, Drake’s passing game is a 65 overall and Daniels is a 40.

I didn’t say he was going to get a year. I just think he needs one (at least). The narrative seems to be that Daniels is ready to start and Drake Maye needs a year to develop but to me, Maye is the more complete quarterback. Maybe you can get away with starting Jayden and just do easy stuff and hope that him being fast can compensate 🤷‍♂️. He’s not going to play quarterback in year one better than Drake Maye is though.
