  2. OK, we are about an hour from go time. Some housekeeping before we get started. New GMs, welcome! Previous GMs welcome back!!  Please remember to read the rules on the first page. Unfortunately we still need to have those and these rules have been developed over the last 10+ years so we feel pretty good about them.

Most important rule is to have fun! That being said:

All rosters and draft positions are loscked down. if a trade happens duringo ur mock we will ignore it. It does not happen often but sometimes it does and it's usually a big one. But we have to lock things down at some point. It can't be fluid.

The primiry rule to pay attention to is the timing allowed for each pick.

    1st rd - 12 hours

    2nd rd - 10 hrs

    3rd - 7th - 8 hours

Pleae keep in mind just because you have those hours please understand the draft goes much better if it's more rapid fire. But we also understand some GMS live in different countries so it's not fiar to have them go on the clock at 2:00AM thier time and only have a few hours to pick. They would sleep through thier time.

Trades are more than OK. But remember, no players can be traded, you can only trade future picks one time, and all trades are subject to review, esepcailly if you are managing two teams and you do a trade between them. Please submit those before announcing.

When a trade is agree to and approved, please post in the thread. For example:

Washington recieves #11, #23, and #109 from Minn

    Minnesota receives #2 from Washington

That allows @COWBOY-KILLA- to keep the big board up to date.

Another rule of note, please do not discusss players NOT selected yet. It is not fair to GMs about to pick. You may put a player on someones radar that they were not thinknig about. Once a player has been selected, it's open season.

Last of the house keeping - The mods pretty much leave us alone over here and let some stuff go like trash talking. However, and make no mistake - ALL SITE RULES ARE FULLY IN FORCE! No politics, no religion, no mean sprited name calling and fighting. We rarely ever get any of this but we just want to be clear up front. The mods do check in and if you violate the rules and get suspended or banned it's not fun for anyone. Also, keep that in mind when you are elsewhere on the board. Make sure to have fun but it's not the wild west.

Some things that can be done to keep it going:

    1. Follow this thread settings the notifications to an email when someone makes a post (see pic below). It can get annoying but in the end it really hleps keep you informaed of when your pick is coming up.

    2. Clear out your personal message folder. We will send PMs as your pick gets close. Typically we notify about 5 to 10 picks out.

    3. If it looks like you will not be around for your pick, please send a short list (top 3 in order), to @COWBOY-KILLA- or myself. We will not use that information to snipe your player, I promise you.

    4. Keep a list of potential players available and the players selected and keep that board up to date. If you select a player already choosen (and it will happen at least a few times as we get ot the later rounds), you will be notified by, well everyone 🙂 and in the most embarrasing manner possible. On top of that, the GMs after you can make thier pics as soon as they want. They are on the clock immediatly. You can jump back in any time but risk losing a player you want.

Ok, that's enough of that. I will make a seperate post for those on the clock. Let's have some fun!!

Friday, I will not be available until about 4 P.M.  Eastern time- I will be ready with my pick 6 around then.

Making the 1st rd pick is fun. Having said that, you can send a ranked list of who you want to either @COWBOY-KILLA- or myself and we can place the pick for you. That keeps the momentum going.  But agian, I get wanting to announce the 1st rd pick yourself. Just a suggestion.

Ok @COWBOY-KILLA- we were typing the same thing at the same time!  LOL

I'm on with IT right now asking if there is some kind of mass ban tool they could build ...

I dont know that I would call $8m per game 'cheap'! But I guess they can get out of it for not very much if they decide he's just worth that at any point between now and the end of the season.

Fair enough that "cheap" may have been a bit much. But then again that puts him in the 25th range in terms of edge rushers and I know he is not the stud he was expected to be, I would argue he is an average to slightly above average edge, again, just not nearly the stud he was expected to be. So $8M is not much money fror an average edge. Looks like he has incentives up to $13M which if he meets they are getting a well above average Edge. And as you state, they can get out without much cost if he is not performing at all. Either way, this team has moved on, rightly so. I like who they broguht in but also expect them to look in the draft for someone with a high ceiling to develop.

That brings to mind that as I think about it, the previus regime either undervalued or was not good at spotting maturity in players. Chase's issues I believe are mostly between his earsa. At his age he should be able to fully recover from his injury. RGIII, the same problem. Darius Guice, same issue. D Jackson was not the most mature. Josh Norman, same thing. There are many more examples. That is something that as I listen to the new players brought in, they just sound more mature (may be a hoax but I don't think so). I expect that to be the same with the guys they draft too.

I have to admit to not being this excited since after the 2012 season when we thought RGIII was gonig to be something. And it was a long time before that, not even Joe Gibbs 2.0.

Has anyone heard about Chase Young’s contract with the Saints?!?!

Sorry, I’m just summoning VoiceOfReason. Is he MIA?

Apparently it’s the only thing that gets him to police this thread for off-topic discussions.

I let it slide about how ppl like their steaks cooked… but this is egg stuff is eggregious.

Stop yolking around!  If this will stop scrambling your brain here is Chase's contract. Very cheap. Says something that they did not want to bring him back here for such a small contract in relative terms.

  6. Ok I posted in the primary threads to see if there were any new takers. Would be nice to have some new blood in this. Not that there is anything wrong with the old blood  🙂

  7.

Just a heads up that it's that time of year again fro the ES Mock Draft. We draft for all 32 teams in the order of the real draft. No real purpose other than to test your skill at drafing. This will be my 9th year and we have fun every time!

We have a few teams that need GMs. If you have any desire to try your hand at being GM of a team, let @COWBOY-KILLA- (the comissioner) or myself know, either IM us or post in the Mock Draft thread pinned in the Stadium. We have at least 2 teams in need of GM. There is room for more as several of us are manageing several teams.

Picks and rounds are timed to allow for overseas GMs. It will take about 2 weeks to finish. Trades are Ok but only draft picks no players.

We start Friday! Hope to see you!

Just to keep it as realistic as possible. The Chicago Bears will not be taking offers for the first pick in the draft. With no QB in the building there is simply no offer I would take to turn down this prospect. The Bears #9 pick is up for auction however.

With Pick #1 The Chicago Bears select:

    Caleb Williams QB, USC.

Williams has elite pocket awareness and pocket movement. He also possesses an elite arm. Both from the pocket and on a full sprint. He needs to learn to take the easy completion instead of looking for the home run constantly. But when he plays in structure he is elite at it as well. I have Williams rated the best QB prospect since Luck. There are some questions about him mentally. And if he fails it is my opinion that it will be that side of the equation that causes it. It is simply impossible for the Bears to pass on a player of his ability for extra draft capital.

YOUR WASHINGTON COMMANDERS ARE NOW ON THE CLOCK!!

Just to be clear, not laughing at the pick, just that you made it now! I would love if the NFL would do this but it would cost them $Ms!!

Nice pick, obvious, but very nice.

Norman wasn't actually released, he was already a free agent. His tag was rescinded. Similar to Jeremiah Trotter. But, as I stated, I do acknowledge there are a few that typically pop up. But who they are, and what position they play, and whether you want to sign them, and whether they want to come play here are all wild cards. That's my point. It's hard to rely on anything. It's like going to the thrift store. Maybe you find a gem. Maybe all you find are dirty diapers.

Yes, he was actually released. Maybe not in the traditional sense but he had a contract - the tag - that if he wanted to play football it had to be for the Panthers, or he could sit out. He decided to play hard ball and they decided to let hm go, or released him from his contractual commitment in force by the tag. So yea, he was released.

The rest is really us saying the same thing but from a differnet viewpoint. You see it as a negative - well there's not much to look forward to, mostly scrubs and I see it as, although unlikely there might be a chance at someone we could really use. Both are right, just looking at it differently.

I think that wave largely happened already. There will be a FEW cuts after the draft, but not many and you're at the mercy of the slim pickings available. The idea that someone fits and need and is someone you want isn't super great.

I don't see a wave but there does always seem to be that 1 or maybe 2 players released just before or just after the draft. Like how we got Deshaun Jackson or Josh Norman. I would hope this FO would be a little smarter in terms of an actual contract as I think the last regime didn't. But those were both impact players released well after the first "wave" of free agency.

Kinda nice to be under the radar despite having one of the best Free Agency hauls in franchise history.

Just proof that these talking heads have no clue what's going on.  Makes me want to start a podcast so I can piss in the wind like these donkeys.

Well they say they didn;t really like what we did then goes on to say, I like CHinn it's underrated, I like Marcus M, and likes Zach Ertz. Barely mention Bobby Wagner and treat it as an afterthought. Then oh yea I forgot about Austin Eckler, and blah blah.

Time will tell but I think they did well. This will be a different team and should be much more comparative.

  17. Was not sure where to post this but here seems as good as any. Talk about nutters, it seems Aaron Rogers has been spreading the false co nspiracy that Sandy Hook was a government excersie and the parents and children were actors. I knew he was an idiot but apperantly he is even more a nut case than previously thought. We also know why his family is not interested in having a relationship with him.

"Brown was covering the Kentucky Derby for CNN in 2013 when she was introduced to Rodgers, then with the Green Bay Packers, at a post-Derby party. Hearing that she was a journalist with CNN, Rodgers immediately began attacking the news media for covering up important stories. Rodgers brought up the tragic killing of 20 children and 6 adults by a gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School, claiming it was actually a government inside job and the media was intentionally ignoring it."

Based on how well this free agent period has gone (on paper at least), are you more willing to give up the draft capital (current and future) to move up to #1 for Caleb. Has this moved your needle at all?

I would not. I am not a big fan of WIlliams more because of his head. He is the most talented QB but he has shown signa of potentially being a head case. But maybe tat's over blown. But I also don't want to give up a bunch of capitol. Is he 2 sts and a few other draft picks better? AIf there are other usuitors that's likely what it would cost.

I say stay where you are and take who you like best between mayes and Daniels and start building around them. But thats just me who has no impact on the decision 🙂  If the FO likes it well enough then I will trust them, for now ....  LOL
