  1. And that wraps up the San Francisco 49ers 2024 draft class.

    1-31 Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona

2-63 Adisa Isaac, EDGE, Penn St

3-94 Theo Johnson, TE, Penn St

    4-124 Chau Smtih-Wade, CB,

    4-132 Michael Pratt, QB, Tulane

    4-135 Brandon Coleman, OL

    5-176 Tyler Davis, DT, Clemson

6-186 Malik Mustapha, S, Wake Forest

6-251 Nate Fluornoy, WR, SE Missouri St

9 draft picks in a year the 49ers went to the Super Bowl, and that's after I traded one to move up in round 6. I would not be surprised if the 49ers in real life look to make some moves up to take advantage of the window Brock Purdy's tiny contract provides; I could also see them using this to prepare for Purdy's contract demands in a few years by making all these picks to get a cheaper overall roster.

  2. Clearly Zion Nelson will be the Commanders pick at #2 this year, in a masterful display of Adam Peters' incalculable grasp of 4D chess.

    Checkmate NFL.

  3. Recent articles I found. FWIW. But I agree there are conflicting reports out there as to his draft year. NFL Draft Buzz has him in next year's draft but the verbiage talks about him being in the 2023 draft? Also saw a mock draft done 3 days ago where he is a 6th round selection for the Dolphins.

UM’s Cristobal discusses George decision and health status of two players | Miami Herald

"It remains unclear if former starting left tackle Zion Nelson will be able to play again after missing last season and logging just 61 snaps during the 2022 season. The persistent knee problems have sidelined him again this spring"

Miami's Mario Cristobal weighs in on team's progress (on3.com)

"Injuries are a big side story this spring with several missing. Previously reported players missing spring: RB Mark Fletcher, LB Francisco Mauigoa, DE Nyjalik Kelly, RB Ajay Allen, OL Zion Nelson, OL Frankie Tinilau, DL Akheem Mesidor, CB Damari Brown, DL Armondo Blount, S Brian Balom and OL Francis Mauigoa."

  4. Eh, karmic balance is overrated anyway.

With the 186th pick, the San Francisco 49ers select...

    MALIK MUSTAPHA, S, WAKE FOREST

Malik provides depth as insurance against Hufanga's ACL recovery this year and possible departure in free agency after next season.

  5. I basically go into these long breaks assuming that I'll wait 50 picks and the guy I hope falls to me will go the pick right before me.

That way if he goes before then, I can make myself feel better that it could have been worse and I could have been right.

  6. With the 135th pick, the San Francisco 49ers select...

    BRANDON COLEMAN, OL, TCU

The 49ers fill out one of their last remaining "needs" before going into a gap in picks. Brandon provides some clay to work with, with a RAS of 9.98.
