  1. When I say I hated a movie, it’s usually based on my expectations going into it. I had just seen Hereditary (which I liked, although had some issues with it). So I was expecting to like Midsommar. I just thought it was incredibly stupid. Joker falls into the same category for me. I was expecting to love it, and just thought it was lazy and dumb. An outta work clown who wants to be a stand up comic? Hands out business cards that say “I’ve got a laughing disorder? That’s seriously what they went with? It just felt like the lowest hanging fruit. He didn’t have a great home life? No ****. 😆 I know people who love both films. They just didn’t work for me. Midsommar was almost as bad as Saltburn…almost. Haha.
  2. Glad to hear the weather is nice. The heat probably feels good on that extra knee cap he has hanging off the bottom of his right elbow.
  3. Midsommar - Finally got around to watching this movie. What an absolute piece of trash. I haven't hated a movie this much since Joker. Zero stars.
  4. You don’t care about Maye’s little shoulder tic or what kind of pop tarts he might prefer?! 😆
  5. Indeed. But also anyone with eyeballs can see that Drake Maye is a superior prospect to Trubisky and Howell. And to tie prospects together because of the school they played at is pure laziness.
  6. I see a scenario where we draft JD, Maye, or Caleb (long shot, borderline delusional at this point 😆). But I see zero scenario where we draft any of those guys and let them sit for a while behind Marcus Mariota. None. In my opinion, it feels almost as delusional as thinking we will have a chance to draft Caleb. If you’re the FO, and you’re looking at a guy and saying “let’s let him sit and learn” then he probably shouldn’t be drafted at #2. Whoever we pick is gonna start. Let Kingsbury bring them along slowly while they get their feet wet. If Mariota starts Week One, I will see it as evidence that we picked the wrong guy.
  7. The desire to “be right” is a helluva drug. That’s why you see so many posts that start out “I said blah blah blah last year and I got laughed at…” I don’t think anybody will be actively pulling against whoever we pick, but they will think about it everyday and even worse…post in here about it everyday.
  8. I’m just glad that we get to pick the one that our FO wants. I push Maye pretty hard in this thread because the QB thread is always obnoxious and irritating and I have to adapt to fit in. 😆 But it will be exciting no matter who we pick. I think all of these guys have a chance to win a lot of games.
  9. Maye hit the cross bar from 80 yards out. Not sure I will see anything more impressive at his pro day.
  10. Feels like Skee-Ball instead of Football. And I love Skee-Ball. I’m in.
  11. Nobody is sitting behind Mariota. Just pure silliness. It’s also weird when people wanna bend over backwards to say Peters had nothing to do with drafting Lance. It feels like we’re looking for ways to validate Peters’ ability by saying “he was responsible for all the good players but not the bad ones”. It doesn’t matter. Every GM has hits and misses. The thing that (I hope) Peters brings is a cohesive vision and a plan to execute that vision. Scheme fit and personnel decisions have been so disconnected here since forever. I don’t care what Peters’ role was in SF. He’s calling the shots here and will be responsible for the results. Good or bad. I’m betting on good.
  12. Dune 2. It lives up to the hype. This is why I go to the movies.
  13. A+ effort for the new regime so far. I’m excited for the kool-aid. Gonna mix mine with Tito’s and a little anxiety/depression. 😆 Jokes aside, I know these guys have a plan at OT. They’ll address it. If we get that QB draft pick right….
  14. Memories of murder is on Tubi with ads. Sexy Beast is on Hulu.
  15. Sexy Beast - (2000; dir. Jonathan Glazer) - I was checking out this directors work (he directed Zone of Interest and Under the Skin) when I ran across this incredible little gem. It’s a British heist flick (think Snatch, etc. but with more of a soul) and it’s badass. Ben Kingsley gives a thunderous performance for the ages. Do not watch the trailer (the less you know about Kingsley the better here, it gives away far too much). Memories of Murder - (2003; dir. Bong Joon Ho) - This is a Korean serial killer yarn, directed by the same guy who did Parasite. It’s like a Korean version of a David Fincher flick. The filmmaking here is just flawless. This could literally be the best movie I had never seen. I cannot recommend it enough. @Chew@Momma There Goes That Mandon’t miss this one (either of these really 😆).
  16. It just dawned on me that it’s always the same posters in the QB thread…the quarterbacks they talk about might change over the years but it’s the same posters getting their hands dirty in here. It’s like turning on the Young & Restless after a years long hiatus and seeing Victor Newman still doing his thing. 😆
