  1. After all the goofiness with Twitter, I don't think I'd want Elon Musk owning the Washington franchise, either! In the end, I don't believe it'll be Bezos--it's more likely to be one of those guys or groups who've been bidding on other teams or are already co-owners in other sports etc. I do think the price will go sky-high. The Washington market vastly surpasses Denver in value, and remember that the sale would likely include FedEx Field--a highly developable site even after that abomination of a stadium is finally torn down.
  2. He always looks like **** with those ill-fitting trousers two sizes too long. That night, though, he looked like I've never seen him before--not his usual smug look but haunted and vacant. I could definitely be reading too much into it.
  3. Oh absolutely. I just don't want people thinking there'll be a new owner next week or whatever. Even if the winning bidder is named beforehand, there'll still be some period of time before the vote happens. December would seem right if they can get the auction concluded soon, and I'm assuming the process has quietly been underway for a little while. Maybe shortly after the Bears game, when Dan looked so distraught--perhaps he got a bad message around then.
  4. Yeah, nobody with any working brain cells would sign on to be Dan's junior commander after what's gone down the last couple years. Certainly not anyone with a billion dollars to spend.
  5. The league has to approve the buyer by a 3/4 majority, so it won't happen overnight. There will be a whole due diligence phase concerning the buyer's financials, reputation etc. It's probably pro forma if you get Bezos or someone like that, but they still have to go through the exercise.
  6. Could be. Rather than some kind of grudge move, I could see such a decision happening because the other owners aren't willing to trust Snyder to get highest price and the right buyer. Yes they have to approve the buyer, but the whole thing is a lot easier and more reliable if they conduct the sale and give Dan the proceeds. The problem is, the owners likely want Dan gone NOW, not after a lengthy hearing and voting process that wouldn't happen until next year. At this point, he's so toxic that they might be willing to go along to get the sale done as quickly as possible. They'd also still be risking his "dirt machine" going to work if a league hearing has to be held. Better to just get the deal done now.
  7. They can't "take" it from him, AFAIK. He gets the proceeds from the sale, whether it's forced or voluntary. It's his asset. Your point about getting a sale of a "clean" team versus one under a criminal cloud is a very good one, however. Certainly, the bidders will be having lawyers crawling all over this to find out what's really happening with that.
  8. Why would the NFL try to tamp down the valuation? It's in their interest to get mega-billionaires throwing offers at Snyder left and right in a bidding frenzy. The valuation just sets the floor for that process. His franchise sells for an inflated price, and their franchises also dramatically go up in value.
  9. Better get on that yacht and sail for international waters ASAP, Dan. It's possible that the USAG's office is investigating Dan based on info from Congress, but the timing makes me think that the info came from elsewhere. Threaten an entire group of powerful billionaires, and this is what you get...
  10. Maybe, but it's also plausible that someone (Jerry?) went to Dan and told him it's either sell or the White report will reveal something REALLY REALLY bad. Maybe something that hasn't been rumored yet. Since DannyWorld seems like a bottomless pit of evil, I have to think there are additional foul layers as yet unearthed by the media or Congress. Sure, it's possible it gets revealed eventually, but things are snowballing right now and Dan has a target on his back. If he goes away, no one will care six months later.
  11. The Metro access would be a big advantage for Dulles over the other proposed sites. It'd be a bit of a trek to the stadium location, but probably better than Morgan Blvd. is now. It'd have to be good, because driving into the stadium location from the freeways would be an absolute nightmare, even if the traffic to get there wouldn't be as bad as Dumfries or Woodbridge. That site is sort of tucked into a little corner of the 28/267 junction and isn't easily accessible from either highway as it is right now. There'd have to be major road/exit improvements to make that a workable site--much more so that FedEx Field required. Add that onto the bill, fellow Virginia taxpayers, 'cause you KNOW Dan ain't paying for that!
  12. Not surprisingly, I don't follow Taylor Swift's itinerary either. I haven't been to FedEx Field in almost a decade. I wasn't thrilled with it then, but I never felt physically at risk. I'm a little surprised she didn't at least book M&T Bank Stadium, though. A lot of money floating around in this region. Maybe her management felt that two nights in Philadelphia would draw heavily from the DMV.
  13. A lot's changed since 2015. I don't recall safety hazards and sewage spills being an issue back then. Her tour's insurer might not want to deal with the risk when there are several other stadiums in the area that can host concerts.
  14. Not at all on point, but that picture sure drives home how embarrassingly cheap and lazy the new helmet logo is. It's just perfect for the Dan Snyder Football Team.
  15. Completely agreed. I think this has gotten to the point where they have to do *something*, but it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Danny Boy's not going to go quietly unless the threat to him personally is severe, I suspect.
  16. Since a vote-out has never even been attempted, I think it's fair to say that no one on Earth knows exactly how it would go down. Expect lots of lawyering and arguing on all sides. The owners will have to run the risk/reward numbers on that proposition, I'd expect.
  17. So, Tom Brady threw away his marriage to a supermodel for *this*. :sadtrombone:
  18. Yeah, it looked like a jailbreak on every play. The difference is that Heinicke is better than Wentz at dealing with it. If he had Wentz's arm, Taylor would be making bank... somewhere else. I do worry that Heinicke won't last through Wentz's IR, at this rate. He took a couple beatings out there.
