Well it seems Alan Weisselberg may be in talks about a plea deal on a perjury charge regarding his testimony in the original trial. Judge has his decision on hold until this is resolved, this can't be good news for old Donnie with regard to the punishment is company will absorb. I could have sworn he campaigned on the promise to drain the swamp of corruption. If he pleads guilty how many Trump people have now been convicted or plead to felonies? Great idea for a thread. It will be fascinating to see how the coaches will change the production of the current players. Guys like Q. Martin and J.Davis are ones to watch. I don't see Gibson in their future. He just hasn't shown any quality you look for other than straight line speed. And he fumbles although that got better.

A 6th rounder and a head cheese sandwich would have still been a win.

We obviously won that trade, most everyone knows this. Now we will watch Chase Young bounce around the league signing small "prove it" deals. And like Lavar he will never get it that he was never as good as the hype.

Being better than Rex Grossman misses the point. The point remains he is probably going to win his 2nd MVP, he is paid right near the top, and he can't get it done in big moments. Apparently that applies to big regular season games according to Ravens fans.

Not a big Jon Allen fan but he did put up a Pro Bowl season, something Chase never did and never will do. Sweat was also better, one could argue Payne as well. Again outside of 1/2 of Young's rookie season where he was their best defensive player. But that still puts him 4rh on the DL IMO. I hear from informed Niners fans on another board. They all agree that they didn't get what they expected from CY and although it was a great gamble they agree that we got the better of that trade.

You are correct, if you had said "1/2 of his rookie season..." But for the rest of the time he was here he was certainly not the best defensive linemen.

I don't think it's wrong to want a QB who can actually deliver in January.

Thanks for this, I have always been in the Maye camp. But I still believe he does not have the athletic ability of Daniels or the 2 playing yesterday. As tempting as it is to get a player like that I'm sorry I just can't erase the images of Lamar and Kyle Murray in the playoffs.

Agreed which is why I want him. But he can't escape like we saw Lamar escape, or make the magical plays like Mahomes. OK scratch that last part, nobody has ever made some of the plays Mahomes has made.

During the first quarter of the game yesterday I saw Mahomes and Jackson doing amazing athletic things and said to myself "screw Drake Maye, I want a QB who can do these things". Then January Jackson returned and I'm back wanting the more traditional pocket passer.

Virtually every team has a back, or 2, as good or better than Brian Robinson IMO. We don't need to compare him to Gibbs, compare him to the starter on every other team and I doubt you will find many where he is clearly better.

I'll continue to say it. Our fans overrated B Rob because he makes a few good runs. But if you really look at the starting RBs around the league he is below average.

Thanks for the breakdown, seems to me when I watch them Montgomery gets twice as many carries so this is surprising.

My issue is how many downs does Gibbs actually play? He just doesn't make the impact that players at other positions make because they are playing far more snaps. And again you can get somebody similar to him, or at least close, in a later round.

Yeah as dynamic as Gibbs can be I will always believe he was overdrafted. As you say you can find similar, or at least 85% of the production, without spending a mid-first round draft pick.

That was a really good point about the Texans playing in a really weak division, honestly I had not thought of that. But they did win a playoff game which shows they are legit. Put me in the camp that believes with better coaching and great personnel folks we can turn this around fairly quickly, assuming the QB hits. Which of course is the key to everything.
