I don't know about that. Just hardening the target could deter a mass shooter even trying it in the first place? Best case is a teacher/security guard puts him down, but highly unlikely. Worst case, an(other) innocent gets shot by said teacher/security guard. More reasonable expectation is you could (possibly) end a confrontation sooner than waiting on police to get there.

That executive order he repealed also has the "devil in the details".. It was for people who got assistance on SS for mental "Impairments", not necessarily mentally "ill". And like the terror/no fly lists, it had no due process to get on or off. But as far as I know, if your documented as mentally ill, you're not supposed to be able to pass a 4473 background check anyway? They need to get the FBI and DOJ and all the other law enforcement agencies fixed, who repeatedly drop the ball, before they introduce anymore laws imo..

Thanks! Yea, I checked out Ep1 and it didn't really move me to watch a 2nd. If I run out of programming I'll probably give Ep2 a look though.. I also checked out Ep1 of Black Lightning.. Was digging the concept and liking the story, all the way up until the cartoon costume.. My anti sci-fi gene kicked in and that was it.. lol

So I hadn't looked into the alienist because I thought it was sci-fi? Should I give it a look?

Not sure The Chi is going anywhere.. Loved the concept, but so far its just, meh.. They keep introducing new characters, so there's still a chance it takes off.. I'll keep watching though, hope for the best.

Xfinity/Comcast. They cap it in a bunch of states apparently. It says 90% of the their customers don't get close to a terabyte of data a month. I guess they wrote that before streaming came popular. We have AT&T that's recently been introduced in the area, but I've not looked into the specifics.

Good grief... Just got a pop up "notice" from Xfinity.. My "data usage is at 90% for the month".. We have a Terabyte of data to use every month. For the last year we average about 70-90 Gigs/mo.. I tell DTV to get lost, buy a roku and use the PS3 to stream Playstation Vue and now, in half a month I've used ****ing 900GBs of data?? **** me!!! "Re-Connect the cable.. Please, CONNECT the cable"!!! lol

I wondered about that too, but afaik most VPN's just randomize your IP to different parts of the world. Not sure if they offer a service where you can actually pick the zipcode it originates from? (least the cheaper ones I've used didn't) It'd be cool if they do though! But as you said, they'll probably put a check in there somehow.

When does the NFL deal with Directv run out? They really need to start a 50$ season package where you can choose 1 team and see all their games. Until then, Reddit will remain my goto.. If I could get this Dell Inspiron to mirror a stream to the roku, I'd not even sweat it.. As is, I just run a hdmi cable over to the tv for "sports".. Kind of a pia, but so be it.. I cut the cable (Directv) back in December. Got Playstation Vue for the PS3 (living room) and a roku for the bedroom.. That's the fastest way to find out just how "good" your internet package is! Lol.. Been rebooting modems and routers like they're out of style (They are!!) ever since.. Seems technology progressed faster than I was aware and keeping your gadgets up to date is paramount. Im gonna be upgrading both the router and cable modem here soon.. As for PSVue, it's got all the channels I wanted.. Picture is good. The remote, guide and dvr are not even close to an actual cable/dtv system, but for the savings, Im getting used to them fairly quick!

Wasn't referring to anything in particular.. Just all the chatter has been about Punisher, Black Mirror, Travelers, Bright, etc. But I did see a mention of "Mindhunter", so I picked that up! So far so good! Also been watching "the marvelous mrs maisel" (not as dark as Im dying up here, but better written and funnier, imo) I'll give Black Mirror a look if I get desperate.

Wow. Maybe they've laxed even more? I was in Volusia Co. and the "required" course (classroom then firing range) was fairly detailed, but again the test were all immediately following the instruction, so not really hard to pass if you were engaged and paying attention. But the dry fire? We had to load/unload/fire at least a magazine full. IIRC there were 3 instructors (at the range) for like 20 people. They did a good job, imo.
