  1. I get your point about the final year of his contract being next year, but all things being equal, with a year of good coaching, a steady O line and a workable script, I can see great strides being made by Sam this coming year. Also, given that next year is forecasted to be a so-so year with QB talent in the draft, if he improves, I can see more QB-needy teams like the Jets being interested in him. Which will raise his value beyond a 4th. JMO mind you.
  2. I absolutely don't want to trade Howell for a 4th this year when he can be worth so much more next year after being coached. Quinn has 3 different coaches to work with the QB's this year. And if there is one thing that I fault Rivera for, it's not getting quality coaches here on offense and defense. And we're going to see my point this year when said NEW coaches start turning the underperformers and hand-full of scrub players we had to keep to fill roster spots, into hungry meat-eaters. I like Howell. I think he's got quite a bit of talent. But no friggin surprise he regressed last year after getting the ever-lovin **** kicked out of him almost every week as he stood tall in the pocket and tried to execute, with no run game to change the pace, or even to make the play-action believable. And EB just kept shoving him back in there with the same playbook every damn week to meet his fate in the lion's den. idiots! If we draft Maye, which I think we will, I don't see it as a bad thing that Drake and Sam are friends. Quite the contrary in fact. they are both smart guys who played and will play in a similar offense to what they had in college. Any animosity will have been worked through long ago. I think they will push each other and feed off each other like any other intelligent athletes. And in the end, we are gonna see coaching the likes of which we haven't seen since Gibbs, Pettibone, Henning and Buges. And when it's all done, I believe we get much better than a 4th for Sam. I will preface my statement by saying I am not willing to bet anything on this because, like Sam Howell, I have been let down by this organization for so long and so thoroughly, that I only have blind homerism left. I HOPE that all changes this year.
  3. What about Jared Wiley, TE out of TCU as a day 3 pick? Have you seen any of his film? Thanks
  4. Agreed. 65k should be the max capacity. Maybe less. Built on the existing site of the old RFK, so gameday blimp shots will look straight down Capital St. to the Washington Monument. Also, the roof needs to be constructed to magnify the volume of the crowd back onto the field for the full 12th-man effect for maximum homefield advantage. How long has it been since we had that? I would say the last time I felt the full 12th-man presence was playing Dallass at home in December 2005. God, FedEx was loud that night!
  5. 2. Caleb Williams, QB 36. Darius Robinson, EDGE 40. Patrick Paul, OT 67. Tyler Nubin, S 100. Payton Wilson, LB 102. Josh Newton, CB 137. Ben Sinnott, TE 180. Beaux Limmer, IOL 219. Jordan Jefferson, DL
  6. I am a Maye guy. But I do like Daniels. If GMAP were to trade down at all, I think it could only be with NE at #3. That way we'd definitely get a top 3 QB along with some compensation. Maybe #4, but then GMAP would have to consider JJ to be the dude.
  7. Thanks for that. I am totally on board with this FO and am very excited about our future. Warming up to KK as the new OC from what I am reading/hearing about him, but also wanted to interview Kubiak. Though, after waiting to interview BJ and then seeing how easily that can burn precious time, I am glad that the OC pick is settled and we can move on to the staff picks.
  8. Speaking of Kubiak, how is it that he's being reported as a lock to go to NOLA as the new OC when he's still in the Super Bowl? I know that no contract has been signed on paper yet, but doesn't that mean that he's still in play for the rest of the teams in the NFL to interview and promote to OC or HC? Just curious.
  9. Thus far, it's looked like the Bears will take Williams at #1 and we would take either Maye or Daniels at #2. And while I have complete faith in GMAP to pick the best QB for our new system, my gut says it might be a toss-up between the two QB candidates. And if so, it would be valuable to us to trade back one spot with NE and let them pick while giving us compensation for the move up. Then we take whomever is left of the 2. Now if the Bears are rolling with Fields, they would most assuredly be going after MHJ with their pick, but would not pick MHJ with the #1 pick. They would move back to the first spot that would guarantee the get their guy, which would be pick #3, while picking up big compensation for the move. So in that case, we would move back to #4 to get the pick we would have received if the Bears had just stayed put. But unless Williams ability is considered in another galaxy, as compared with Maye and Daniels, I don't think we would allow ourselves to get into a costly bidding war with the Patriots just to move up 1 spot. Considering all the needs we have to fill with our picks. But again, I will be fascinated while watching the process.
  10. This just made me do a spit-take on my Mt Dew Fabulous, sir.
  11. Now that we are in slot #2, I have my fingers crossed that we stay here after next week. I don't think I can beat this mock draft even if I try the next few weeks. All our team needs get covered including blue-chip QB.chip QB.
  12. I know the draft simulators are far-fetched sometimes with the trades, but what a difference one position makes in overall value. By trading down from pick 3, just a few spots at a time, I picked up 4x extra 2nd round picks and a 4th for next year. Then had a decent draft to boot:
  13. Ok, I think I have reached perfection with this mock. It hits all team needs and are actually some of my favorite players at their positions.
  14. It's weird to be a fan of this team and hear about long snapper issues with such a storied past such as ours. I'm in my 50s and for pretty much my whole adult life, LS has been covered by either Red or Nick. Then you inevitably get the old geezer who pops in and says " Ya know, Nick Sunberg once played a whole half for us with a broken arm?" We'd pat him on his head and say "I know, pops" Then we'd give him his Geritol and settle him in his recliner for his morning nap. 🤪
  15. He was the OC at KC. He Schemed the plays and coached the offense with the QB to make everything work. Andy Reid called those plays in the game, off the menu. I don't know why everyone thinks it's so far-fetched for EB to create the plays, but not call them in the game. Also, I am probably wrong on this, but I thought it was only seven interviews in 2 years...not 15. Doesn't really matter the number. Fact is, he's a good coach who makes changes in real time and gets results. The players have bought in. My question is, why would you let him walk. If all he needs to stay here is the title of HC, then get it done. As much as I like Rivera the man, this isn't a popularity contest. It's the NFL. And its our team. Damn, we've made sooooooo many mistakes in the Dan Snyder years by letting quality walk, why would we do it here? Moses at RT is one that haunts this team every week. We could have paid him. But we let him walk instead.
  16. I was watching Pedro's podcast on the Commanders today and he said that Payne didn't participate. Does anyone know how bad the ankle is? I know he came back in to finish the game, but that's all.
  17. Still, I'll take your 2-cents. KD can give me the coaches-corner later, lol.
  18. Not trying to be thick, or argumentative, but I just don't understand this way of thinking. And I know you've done quite a bit of coaching over the years, so you are a perfect person to explain this. I've read all the stories about Bienemy's interviews and his personal baggage which possibly kept him from the HC position with every team he interviewed with this past year. And that's why he made the lateral move to us as the Asst. HC/OC. So, he is here making his bones and proving to us and the rest of the NFL that he's just as good a play caller as Andy Reid. For God's sakes, it was HIS offense Andy was calling. Results are results. I don't want to get ahead of myself, because it's just 2 games, but the parallels are glaring. He worked with Mahomes since he was a pup, and developed him from a truly gifted, athletic college QB into the cyborg we see today. It seems he's doing the same with Sam who is also truly gifted and athletic. His offenses mask weaknesses in his team while exposing and capitalizing on weakness in the opposing defense. His scripts are easy to understand and give quite a bit of latitude to a smart QB/smart receivers to adjust according to coverage. Hell, we finally have a working screen play! Not only is it working, but it's beautiful. He coaches them on timing and assignments until they are perfect. Not only is he detail oriented, he demands perfection. And in the process of repetition, he has them in shape enough to mount a 32-point comeback at mile-high in the second game of the season. Not to mention, the two-minute drill which doesn't just net us points, but reclaims the momentum, while restoring our fight and confidence. So, only two weeks in and we are on the correct trajectory. Let's say we do stay healthy and reach 10 and 7, or even 11 and 6. Do we just toss EB for some unknown? Or do we make him the new HC? And for DC, if we reach 11 and 6, do we keep JDR? Or go for a different DC? I totally agree with you about a GM and the rest of the head-shed though. The HC can't be the GM. Your thoughts please. Edit: Sorry KB. I got the coaching thing mixed up between you and KD.
  19. Yes, I am being consistent. Last year Wentz just flat out sucked. At no point was our offense 'absolutely humming' in the first two games with him under center. My 2-thumbs-up was agreeing with your post there about the total O collapse. We are not even in the same galaxy this year with EB and Howell. And the only 'garbage time' padded stats in this last game came from Denver in the 4th quarter. Not from Howell and EB. To add another point, we should have scored on our first drive of the game with an easy field goal' but Cheesed**k screwed up the snap. At the time, I called it and said "we should have scored a TD because this asshat will cost us the FG". And he did. Your definitions of absolutely humming and garbage time is what I have an issue with.
