  1. 1. Bears take Caleb 2. We take Maye 3. NE takes JJ 4. AZ takes MHJ 5. SD trades with MIN for a haul of picks and MIN takes JD
  2. This is awesome SIP. Thank you! I know that you and GC and the rest of the ES draft-gurus with their own big-boards were talking recently about starting a big-board thread. I'm sure it's a huge amount of work along with things like this post here, not to mention your real life schedule, but have you or anyone decided to actually start one? I'd love to see someone's actual board on here. Even if it's a cut-and-paste thread where folks can see what our OWN educated ES talent evaluators have for themselves. The first and only big-board i've ever seen was the PFF board that was leaked a week after the combine.
  3. What do you think of Nathanial Watson Miss St?
  4. More and more mock drafts are having Chop available at pick 36. I have been wanting to do a mock with a trade-down to add another pick, but every time I get to my next pick, someone special is sitting there that I can't pass up, lol. This is such a rich draft for talent! Washington Commanders 2 Caleb Williams QB | USC A+ 36 Demeioun Robinson EDGE | Penn State A+ 40 Ricky Pearsall WR | Florida A 67 Patrick Paul OT | Houston B+ 78 Max Melton CB | Rutgers A+ 100 Ben Sinnott TE | Kansas State A 139 Christian Jones OT | Texas B+ 152 Johnny Wilson WR | Florida State B+ 222 Tyrice Knight LB | UTEP A
  5. no trades... 2 Caleb Williams QB | USC A+ 36 Demeioun Robinson EDGE | Penn State A+ 40 Kingsley Suamataia OT | BYU A 67 Patrick Paul OT | Houston B+ 78 Jalen McMillan WR | Washington A 100 Kris Abrams-Draine CB | Missouri A+ 139 Jamari Thrash WR | Louisville C+ 152 Jared Wiley TE | TCU A+ 222 Nathaniel Watson LB | Mississippi State A
  6. Daniels' arm never looked this awesome on his best day! He's nowhere close to Griffin's arm. But that's not even what I have an issue about. When I compare Daniels to RGIII, I am STRICTLY talking about the dual-threat running QB taking hits because they choose to leave the pocket as a runner. In 2012 we only played 16 games in regular season, and at least 7 games, RGIII took a MAJOR hit as a runner. The Ravens game, Panthers, Giants, Falcons, Saints, Rams and Bucks He was friggin pummeled. Sometimes he got up, and sometimes he didn't. Ironically, the injury that finished him, was him reacting to a bad snap in the seachickens wild-card game. My point about Jaden...and it's ALWAYS BEEN my point about Jaden, is that he's just as reckless as RGIII, if not more-so, to leave the relative safety of the pocket and venture out past the line of scrimmage as a runner, on his own, with no blockers. That alone is DREAD to a fan like myself. Now add in that he's 2 inches taller and 15 pounds lighter......DO THE MATH!!! And for the Ra Ra Ra cheerleaders who always follow a 'mean-spirited' post like mine with the obligatory 'well, he hasn't been hurt yet' (I like Jaden, so I wouldn't be a jerk and jynx him), lets just say that he's mortal.
  7. Why the Eff can't Jay slow down and talk at normal speed. He always sounds like a chipmunk on a coke-bender.
  8. 1976 1977 Washington Redskins DT Diron Talbert, DT Bill Brundige and DE Karl Lorch, although Lorch looks so much like Russ Grimm in this photo.
  9. Honestly WRW, this pic makes me feel heaps better than what he looked like playing during the season. While he's not broad, he's thicker through his neck all the way down to his calves. I wouldn't dread him as a pick now.
  10. no trades Washington Commanders 2 Caleb Williams QB | USC A+ 36 Demeioun Robinson EDGE | Penn State A+ 40 Ladd McConkey WR | Georgia A 67 Cooper Beebe IOL | Kansas State A 78 Kiran Amegadjie OT | Yale A+ 100 Khyree Jackson CB | Oregon B+ 139 Christian Jones OT | Texas B+ 152 Jamari Thrash WR | Louisville B+ 222 Tanner McLachlan TE | Arizona A
  11. Thanks for the Work you put into this. Can't wait for A. Phillips and K. Jackson. My bet is they slide in Just below DeJean down to Melton. And that's the sweet spot for man-press or dual role/man press CB that we need to dip into. That's 7 fine CBs we may nab between early 2nd and mid 4th.
  12. Used to be pretty accurate in the 20th century. Since 2000, not so much. But to the point of Washington playing on the MNF prior to the General Election, I think it's still a go.
  13. Maybe it's not about the players at all. The Harris group is doing their due diligence in every facet of this organization, right down to the smallest details. Including their primary message board! And you can obviously see how their decision to schedule all these important top-30 visits on the same day has thrown the last 9 pages of this thread into turmoil. Up is down, day is night, dogs and cats living together, and now Chump Baily has run off with illone and joined the JJ McCarthy team in the last 5min while nobody was looking. Whoever came up with this idea to schedule these visits all-together is some kinda sick genius.
  14. I agree with this post. To go further with your point, after watching this sack video, I went to YouTube and watched Maye's sack video. My conclusion is that Daniels is down right ugly when he takes a sack and I'm awed that he wasn't hurt in 50% of them. OTOH, Maye didn't look like a rag-doll while being sacked. JMO On a side note, I've been around the ES board for 16yrs and finally hit 1k posts! Hooray for me! 🤪
  15. I don't have anywhere your football knowledge, but as a true FAN of the team, your takes on 'loss of faith' and 'expectations' in this team seem to mirror mine to a tee. Better than anyone else has put into words in any post. I also feel a real dread about picking Daniels over Maye because to me, he doesn't have near the shelf-life that Maye or even McCarthy have. And given our circumstances, and what we are building, I see that as extremely short-sighted. Where I differ on this a bit is with two things: 1. I really do trust the organization as a whole now. From Harris, to GMAP, to Quinn, Kingsbury, and even the players we are bringing in. IF IT HAPPENS to be that we take Daniels, I have to trust that these guys did their work and truly think he's the best candidate for the job. At which point I will pray to the Lord that they were right, while at the same time, pray for the success and protection of said candidate. But, while I won't hope for the failure of Maye, if he goes to another team, I will closely monitor his success/failure of his career, and always second-guess the wisdom of passing on a prospect that turns into a perennial contender and franchise QB if ours doesn't and he does. I don't want to start this journey with this new team with dissention and animosity. But that brings me to my second point. 2. All this Daniels hype is just that. Hype. Nobody knows jack right now. It's both amazing and annoying as hell for us fans. But looking further into the Daniels hype, you gotta look at the source. Any real meat of this hype comes from QandA's with Dan Quinn. Set aside all the trusted coaches and scouts Keim and Sheffer have asked to opine on the subject, Dan Quinn is the only one who's quoted anything of substance. And his answers look and seem to be touting Daniels. From being a 'game-changer', to being a 'nightmare to game-plan for', He's been praising Daniels harder than Maye. Now, Quinn is a savvy coach. And He's part of the new team that is 'hush' on this pick. To me, those quotes were as much dis-information as they were complimentary of a really good football player. And in this case, totally worthless as to how he/we are leaning. I think the HONEST giveaway and the real meat to how we are leaning is the reaction Dan Quinn had at Drake Maye's pro day. With that big smile and his body language as he turned and fake-walked away from Maye while he was dropping 50yd dimes to his receivers in-stride, spoke more than ANYTHING Quinn has said thus far. In fact, for a savvy coach that is part of this no-leak FO, I was surprised to see him give so much away. So, in conclusion, I feel like I have been paroled after a 30yr stint in San Quinton. I've been given a new lease on life with this crowd. I finally don't have to shut off my TV after week 3 because it's already hopeless and I care more about my health and peace-of-mind than to jeopardize myself and keep watching the same train-wreck decade after futile decade. In spite of all the Daniels hype, my gut says they take Maye.
  16. Smart money is BPA at each position. Unless there is a possibility to package some picks to move up for an elite blue-chipper in the mid to late 1st. But OT doesn't seem to have any of those elite prospects in the draft this year. So, while there's an outside chance we would move back up into the 1st, it probably wouldn't be for a OT. Plenty of serviceable OTs in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
  17. I think it's time for everyone to put their money where their mouth is. Start making some real wagers with real consequences. Like sig-bets or something. I'm in! I'll wager something on the fact that I think it's going to be Maye. The problem is, I'm not a mean person. So while I may lose and be plastered with a horrible moniker like 'Califan007 The Constipated' for a year, I don't think I can come up with anything quite as revolting.🙃
  18. I've been checking out player ranking sites this morning and about half have elevated Jonah up to as high as pick 40 to hover around #75. I know he's undersized, but watching his film is like watching Nick Bosa play for SF. Non-stop motor and bend around the edge.
  19. Now I totally agree with you on this. I am learning new things every time I read this thread. Folks on this board are a wealth of info in every aspect of the game. I didn't mean to come across as a smack-down of your post. Sorry if it did. I actually love the comedic value of many of your posts, as well as Rufus, Sacks and AW-is-my-B. We're getting near crunch-time with the pick and folks are getting ancy. I understand. It's the nature of the magnitude of this draft. A total paradigm shift from the last 3 decades. The simple fact that so many ES'ers are engaged on this board during the lull of the off-season is exciting. It's electric. And I will support whomever we finally choose. Even though I do lean Maye, lol.
  20. I don't know what's so hard about it. He starts his post saying he likes Maye. I think what's not "in good faith" is you dime-ing him out as being biased when you already know the source is Maye leaning. More stunningly, you seem to think that you can convince him( or anyone ) at this point otherwise. Close to 0% of this board is undecided. Prolly for over a month now. The fun of this thread is watching the interaction, point/counterpoint discourse between factions, and the occasional one-liners from the resident comedians that you hope you aren't drinking something carbonated at the time you read their quips, because it burns when it comes out your nose.
  21. Good draft here PB! I really appreciate the discussion for each pick and the logic for doing so. Very informative.
  22. Ok, I usually do the straight draft with no trades. But this time I did a couple of trades and feel I hit every one of the team needs very nicely.
  23. This is my dread about JD. It's ALL about his durability for me. If it were not for his slender build and his propensity to put himself in danger by running, it would be an apples to apples comparison as far as I'm concerned. This is the most important/expensive position on the team. He needs to have a shelf-life longer than 1-2yrs.
