Yeah haha. I mean, are they really going to hit on a generational talent in the draft? Probably not. This year's draft class is looking meager. I think the other factor is that no high caliber free agent wants to sign here. Like really, no one. DC simply is not an attractive destination. That means building from the ground up through the draft, which as you have pointed out takes a long time. The other factor is that we have Ted Leonsis as an owner, who is a dimwit. We may be looking at a Snyder situation, where it will take a change of ownership before we see any real change.

I've said before I expect them to suck for at least 10 more years. It is slight hyperbole, but there is more truth to it than not. A championship by the year 2040 would be miraculous. If it wasn't for that 1978 championship they would clearly be the worst NBA franchise ever. I would argue they still are.

Finally some good news! Our team was in deep trouble next year if Queen had decided to go somewhere else. They still might be crappy, but if Reese comes back (don't know why he wouldn't) it at least gives us a good combo at PF-C. Now need DHS and Kaiser to improve. Hopefully Lamothe makes strides too. I don't want to see any of them transfer.

John Wall won the dunk contest in 2014? I don't recall that at all wow. Oh just Googled it, it was a team event? Okay now I sort of remember people getting upset that the NBA got rid of the dunk contest for a while.

Just couldn't get over the hump today. Couldn't stop Illinois, those guys have tons of weapons I must say. They keep attacking the rim and hit 32-36 free throws. Our lack of three-point shooting hurts in games like this.

Big game today vs. Illinois. I was checking their schedule, Illinois hasn't really beaten anyone. They beat FAU when they were ranked #11 earlier in the year, and that's about it. Their two other best wins are against Northwestern and Michigan State. A little surprised they are ranked #14. We can beat them again.

I hope Holliday makes the roster. Past few years the Orioles have been giving young guys shots, as opposed to coddling them in the minors until their mid 20s. I thought Adley should have come up sooner. Bradish news sucks. Hope he can come back, but gut feeling is he will be out this year.

Yeah I have noticed lots of empty seats. Sad to see. I never considered Maryland basketball fans as fairweather. Then again I haven't been there in a while. The final 10 minutes of the game was such a change. We finally started getting the ball inside to Scott and Reese. Young was more aggressive and got to the line (13-13). Stopped settling for wack shots. And only 3 turnovers the second half. DHS had a career game! Love seeing him drive and bang down low. Dude is built like a truck. Gonna need some monumental efforts to beat Illinois and Wisconsin. Oh Traore and Geronimo got injured 😣 Looked like Geronimo banged knees, hopefully he will be okay. Traore's injury looked a little more concerning, he came up lame with no apparent contact, then fell to the ground clutching his knee. Hopefully nothing serious.

Jamie "Brick" Kaiser Defense has sort of sucked tonight honestly. Amazed we are only down 2.

Watching these highlights...man Mahomes made some huge plays with his legs. Gigantic scramble on that game winning drive. And the throw to Rice on 3rd and 6...marvelous.

By the way, I found it incredibly surprising there had never been a 55+ yard field goal ever made in the Super Bowl. Like...really? Then two were made in this game.
