  1. Well it might as well be Vinny and Bruce. But you give them too much credit in my opinion. To me they were just stooges for Snyder, and it’s going to take a while before I believe the current crop of “decision-makers“ is any different. I’ve heard all of the arguments about the extent to which Snyder is and has been meddling. But I have no doubt that when it comes to these high profile players negotiations, his fingerprints are all over the decision making… And it shows. So I have no reason to believe things will turn out differently for this regime, but, still I WANT to believe so hopefully you’re right and we sign both! Also, the Sherff thing has yet to play out...but even it it works out I’ll still say he should’ve been traded or extended 2 yrs ago.
  2. I hear ya. But sorry I can’t help panicking. We do the same thing every time, and it ain’t good... 1- forgo trade at peak value 2- wait too long to offer extension 3- embarrassing low ball offer finally comes 4- player rightfully ignores 5- desperation franchise tag ploy 6- lose player for next to nothing I get that extensions happen in the summer, but that’s for normal teams. This team hasn’t proven to me they are able to execute at even a slightly competent level when it comes to resigning star players.
  3. No, Doctson was a first round pick. He is actually exhibit a of why I am leery of drafting a first rd receiver.
  4. I wasn’t trying to compare Samuels to Russell Wilson as a player. Each has a relative value, and they are priced accordingly. What I meant to compare is the situation that each is coming off an injury plagued season, and for some reason we are assuming Wilson will return to form but that Samuel will not. If you want to say his “form“ is he was never a number two receiver, I don’t have a problem with that argument, but we paid him and are still paying him to be one.
  5. Space penguin: thanks for your response. I guess the difference is, some of us see Samuel as a bust because of last year, and others are still going by what he did in Carolina which is what earned him the contract in the first place. I still believe in Samuel. But you definitely make some convincing points and I think I would in fact be on board with drafting a receiver in the first. Although still I would prefer to fill a more glaring (imo) need before spending on insurance for Samuel. Appreciate the conversation, and no I would never feel “attacked“ by an opinion. 😁
  6. Thank you K dawg. That makes sense. My only pushback would be that rookie first round receivers rarely hit. For every Jamar Chase, there are 10 Corey Davises and 10 Jalen Reagors. Yes it would be nice if we could just pencil in Justin Jefferson production, but it’s real hard to see that happening. I’d rather see us take the stud safety, one of the linebackers, or even take a shot at QB before spending to pick on receiver.
  7. Good morning all. Thanks as always for the excellent commentary. One thing that’s bothering me reading over this thread… A lot of people are mentioning WR2 as a top priority, and I’m wondering what about Curtis Samuel? I feel like we already signed our WR2, he just hasn’t gotten on the field yet. A lot of fans, myself included, were very happy with the signing last year. He was not a bust, he just was injured. Seems fair that, now healthy, we can expect to get the player we signed up for. Russell Wilson had a terrible season last year, due to injury, and yet we were still falling over backwards trying to get him. I just don’t think we can afford to throw big money at another veteran receiver, and I believe we will get more out of Samuel this year than any rookie (even a first rounder). Obviously we always want more playmakers. But I just wonder if WR2 shouldn’t be a little further down the list of priorities, since we basically already took our shot with Samuel.
  8. It’s exhausting, coming here day after day hoping the next piece of news will be the one that finally triggers his being pushed out only to have Lucy pull the ball away time and time again. So people want to take a break, and indulge in some discussion about shiny new toys in free agency or perspective draft picks, but we all know in the back of our minds that this franchise is not going anywhere until he is gone. Only so much flailing away we can do at the tiny sliver of hope that exists, but I wouldn’t be so fast to judge the importance of the news based on the number of responses. For me, anything that even slightly nudges him out the door is much more important then news about a particular player or position, it’s just not as fun to talk about because after it all we are still no better off than we’ve been for the last 20 years.
  9. This is awesome! Keeping hope alive. I still won’t drink their lousy beer but I will send them a thank you letter for this.
  10. Sort of but much different. The voice of a random fan doesn’t matter nearly as much as Doug, and by the way we DO speak out against Snyder and his misdeeds. A lot, just read this thread! But yeah, if you go to home games or buy the new merch, then your house does have some glass to it.
  11. Yes that is a lot closer than expected. And if you take out the “in 2022“ it would get even closer. I’ll definitely lay the -220 and hope to lose!
  12. Nah keep the (thread) name. The “new start“ will not be until the day he sells the team! In the meantime, this thread will continue to be the homepage on my desktop.
  13. Yes, absolutely. My friends who are NFC fans miss the rivalry. They would like to see us competitive again. They are not really worried that we would become the next patriots with a new owner lol. Maybe there are some who would prefer to keep us down for competitive reasons, but there are also fans of every team who are concerned with sexual misconduct in the workplace. Many fans of all teams have been or know people who have been victims. Keep in mind they haven’t followed the story nearly as closely as we have. But I think a lot of people when they learn the details will get on board and help us. Forward the link the everyone you know, football fan or not. It’s now or never folks! Do everything you can now, or prepare for eternal snyder suckitude.
  14. Tech boom. I had reached the point in life where I had a little bit of extra money to invest for the first time. I picked up two stocks, snyder communications (SNC) and circle.com (CIRC), which was an offshoot of SNC and supposedly also owned by Snyder. Why not, Snyder had just bought the redskins in his 30s, he must be a financial genius! So anyway, SNC tanked and CIRC just went down to zero and completely disappeared. Picked up about a dozen other stocks at the same time, all of them took off, until the crash.
  15. Good point. Maybe the other 31 owners should be added with the list of sponsors. After all, they are the ones who have been protecting Snyder. Wouldn’t hurt to get that out there. Even fans of other teams should be reminded, that if their teams owners continue to protect Snyder then they are condoning his actions.
  16. Thanks that made it easy. I am actually still working on my personalized letter, so in the meantime I went ahead and sent out the form letter. I’m going to do both. And I’m going to have an extra special one for Nike. I encourage everybody to do this. It took me no more than five minutes. I have no idea if this will have any effect, but as a longtime fan I don’t think I could live with myself if I didn’t try. I am so tired of this embarrassing dumpster fire. I want to win like everybody else, but even more importantly I also want to have a respectable franchise that I can be proud to be a fan of. Those things are possible but… First, Snyder must go
  17. Looks like my first choice sadly is taken (going commando), so I’ll go with “Freeballer” instead if that’s acceptable. Thanks!
  18. Any other examples of this? Because the Cardinals haven’t won anything. Made one SB and lost. Neither have the Bengals. Yes the future looks bright for them, but as it stands they haven’t won anything. Easily could’ve lost any of the playoff games this year and we wouldn’t be talking about them. I’ll give you the Colts, but they only managed to win once with Peyton Manning. And I guess Irsay is a bad owner, but nowhere near as bad as Snyder imo.
  19. I know I’m setting myself up up for disappointment, but I’m going to bite on this one last time. Looking forward to 2.3.22 our last and only hope. Begging the football gods to please, please, please, please, please get him out!
  20. I’m in Howard County. Dulles area sounds good to me. The further away the better because I won’t be going there as long as Snyder owns the team. Conversely, I would be more than happy to drive any distance if it meant Snyder was gone! Loudoun County makes the most sense imo, which means it will likely be somewhere else.
  21. This is pretty much all I care about anymore. The week to week results on the field are practically meaningless to me knowing this creep is still in charge. Unless and until he is gone this team has no future. And you can put that in all caps. NO FUTURE.
