Welcome To The Washington Commanders Jahan Dotson WR Penn State
“Misdirection” replied to PCS's topic in The Stadium
Gotta give a shout-out to @KDawgfor hyping Dotson in the draft thread in the last few weeks. I think had I not heard how you viewed him in comparison to Olave I’d have been a lot saltier about this selection, wouldn’t have been on my radar at all. Was still surprising.. but I had something outside the mock draft groupthink to rely on and honestly that made my draft experience 10x better lol -
good read
-
I think Olave is the pick if the board falls a certain way, which is probably the most likely scenario and why they are pumping it to get people comfortable. If London falls or someone else unexpected, I’m sure they’ll take that greater talent.
-
All good points. The leverage the commanders have, is that Terry is still on a 3rd rd pick contract. this is where we’ll see if we learned our lesson. We couldve paid Kirk on a 4th rd pick contract and didn’t. injuries could seriously hamper his future guarantees, and he hasn’t achieved “stupid generational wealth” quite yet. We get him on a top 10 WR contract now, he’s likely to take it. It’s a risk otherwise.

How does London compare to someone like Kennan Allen? Tall big body WR who runs great routes but may not have that elite speed. Is that a fair comp?
-
I can see London being the right fit. I do see that JReed comfort blanket too his game, especially with his ability to be inside. Gotta love POSITION FLEX 💪🏼 Route running for Wilson scares me, if olave is the technician with speed, like Terry… get me him. id like WR 1 round, LB 2 round ideally.
-
does London separate? Honest question, I haven’t watched. All I’ve read in snippets is highlights of “big target, jump balls, contested catches” and gives me nightmares of JJ Arcega Whiteside and Doctson.

WR depth is critical to making deep runs. take a look at bus the Bengals, Chiefs, Bucs, and Rams Bengals Chase, Boyd, Higgins Chiefs Hill, Hardman Bucs Evans, Godwin, AB Rams Kupp, Woods, OBJ 3/4 had or acquired the personnel to go 3 deep with WR starters. People will always get hurt (or get suspended, or quit on your team lol ) If we lose Terry, or Curtis like last year, we’re counting on some serious development from Dyami, Milne, etc we have to sign a difference maker; or draft one in first two rounds.

If a QB they covet falls to their pick in the 1st or 2nd, they’ll take him. Wentz simply means they will not trade up for one now. That said, I would bet that we don’t take a QB until the 4th or later. Todays players are sensitive. Wentz, Rodgers, Griffin, etc. drafting QBs high when you have someone who is supposed to be “the guy”, has proven to destabilize things in multiple situations. If we intend to compete for championships anytime soon, Wentz will be the guy. Develop a plan and stick to it. Use the 1st and 2nd to build around him. Had the packers taken a WR instead of Jordan Love, this Rodgers saga would’ve never happened, and perhaps they even win another title by now. Also appears they can’t recoup the cost of what they drafted Love for. Waste of resources. Heinicke is the perfect backup here. He’s not an unknown quantity that fans will constantly call for because of some untapped potential. Both the team and the fans know who he is. He is respected and appreciated for what he is, and his style of play, especially in relief when they haven’t gameplanned for his weaknesses, can win games. Not to mention, he’s cheap!

On someone like Jordan Davis, I’m still weary of huge DL guys like him. He seems younger and more athletic than this example, but we got burned in the worst way with guys like Pot Roast. They’d just go hurry up and keep the same formation in, and he wouldn’t be able to keep up. Haynesworth too but that was other issues as well. Georgias overall D was so good, they got off the field. Ours won’t be as lucky in the NFL. Why is this different?

Comments of that thread, supposedly those are fake? Can’t trust anything lol. Probably not even the guy below.

lol the boys and I bought $40 burner androids to play GBA and DS roms on. Best part is how stealthy and mobile it is 😂 perfect for a plane ride, office break, etc

I answered your question in my edit at the top of the post you were too quick to quote reply lol. The game and animations are stunning but I haven’t played TLOU2 myself or uncharted to compare. Agree with Momma though on principal of pre-rendered vs what we’re getting here. it’s at the point where my wife or mother in law can’t tell if I’m gaming or watching something on Netflix.

The VA is better than the first game, and better than other games I’ve played. You likely have different experiences than me, I only watched a few hours of TLOU2 gameplay, so I can’t compare to anything other than my own history. Fwiw, my buddy who waxes poetic about TLOU franchise, has the same thoughts on HFW I do. It’s a massive open world game there are always bugs and clipping. For release weekend, without a big patch that I’ve noticed, I’d say it’s pretty minimal compared to other games I’ve played. I think if you look to critically at anything in animation you’ll find faults…. But I’ve never felt more emotion from a game’s characters and performance. There’s subtlety and nuance in their posture, expressions, and reactions to what others are saying. It’s so immersive imo I know you had trouble getting sucked into the first one, you may have the same trouble here. And without being charmed or excited by the atmosphere, lore, and experience itself, it’s not surprising to me that you strip that away and look at the pieces individually rather than pieces of a whole.

Put 15-20 hours into HFW over the last few days. I’ll just echo the manifesto that @Momma There Goes That Man has so graciously put together 😂 Been waiting for this game for so long, bought a new TV just to optimize for it. HFW simply builds on everything great about the first game without trying to re-invent the wheel. Of all the things that pop about it, I’d say the character models and animation are the most captivating I’ve ever seen. Aloy’s face and body language and posture are so expressive there’s a scene early on where some uptight, ivory tower diplomat is complaining about having to do anything, and Aloy delivers what is probably the greatest animated eye roll on god’s green earth. The acting, voicework, Mo-cap, and atmosphere are on a different plane.

😂 right, like this man used to have space for an armory, some bunks, and a room for carbonite bounties… now all he’s got room for is a little green dude or a few severed heads

@KDawg the takes (or rather, omissions) on Howell right now remind me of Baker coming out. There was a significant length of time leading up to the draft where he was thought of as a mid/late 1st rounder, if I recall. Then the browns come in and scoop him at #1 ahead of Allen, Darnold, Rosen, Jackson, etc.

Pretty sure we already signed Brian Johnson off someone’s practice squad. Interestingly enough, he replaced Joey Slye at VT 😂
