You say that because you obviously don't mind becoming magnetized. -
Can't take credit for being astute. Just riding autopilot on the cynicality for about a decade and a half. Just waiting until I need another mode.

I mean, I can't see what he would have been "instructed" to do on that play. There's no TE covering him, the RB is on the other side of the formation, there's no one else lined up in Moses' orbit. If he didn't think the rusher was his responsibility, why did he eventually have an "oh, crap" reaction and turn to go after him too late. Not going to crucify a guy for one play, but I don't buy any explanation for that one other than that he basically fell asleep.

I mean, we could have gotten good returns during the year for some players who aren't/shouldn't be part of our future- Moses, Scherrf, Darby, Kerrigan, Bostic, maybe Collins before he got hurt. Which would have gotten us some good draft capital, a bunch more cap and we could have accepted a couple more losses in exchange for a draft position which might have gotten us a QB for the next decade plus. But we went 7-9 and lost a playoff game, and that's all that matters.

I'm not sure how good Brown is. I thought he would likely end up a RT out of college, but what I saw of him last year he looked impressive at LT. People who saw more of him would have to decide if he wasn't as good as I thought he looked. But if he's close to it, then getting him for the equivalent of an early to mid 2nd round choice, even with only one year on his rookie deal, is a good deal for KC. I'm more surprised Baltimore gave him to their main rival for the conference title.

IMO, you've hit on the problem we run into when people start trying to "rank" Scherff among the best Guards. He's out a lot, like 1/3 of the time. But he's been hampered for what seems like at least an equal amount of time. He's very good when healthy, but how often is that, really? Again, when healthy, he ranks pretty high. I would certainly put Nelson and DeCastro above him. Maybe he's third, but look at how many candidates for that rank there are- Scherff, Martin, Brooks, Thuney, Mason, Bitonio, Teller, Marpet, Peat, Jenkins. The difference between the 3rd and the 12th best or so isn't really that great.

Sanders, Jenkins, Cook and Alexander were starters. So were Anzalone, Hendrickson and Rankins, who they will likely lose in FA. Morstead was their Punter. Several others were solid role players. It's weird that a team could be in the final 8 and be considered a title contender being filled with such garbage players that they would be released regardless of the cap.

LOL. New Orleans had to let go of about a half dozen starters, will lose more in Free Agency and will still be likely to lose more talent next year. This while their franchise's all-time signature player retires. They are likely done as a serious contender for the foreseeable future. Dallas, who were never in cap trouble, are now suspected of being compelled to release Amari Cooper and/or Ezekiel Elliot next year. I'm not sure "Boy, going way over the cap is nothing but fun" is exactly the lesson to be learned there.

You can only amortize bonuses over 5 years, maximum, so the voidable year in 2026 won't show up that way. It is essentially irrelevant at the moment. Pretty sure they put that year in there so that in later years they can come back and tuen salary into bonus and have that year to spread the hit into.
