  1. It's not a "dangerous" opinion to say you'd prefer Heinicke over Mahomes. It's just a stupid one. Dude you and I should become NFL DCs. The code has been cracked. We'll make millions!
  2. Who in the actual **** would be giving Trump $1 billion in investment money? That's either a flat out lie or it's from organized crime, Russia, or some group of warlords somewhere. But even of that's the case, what exactly are they thinking they'll get in return? He's obviously going to lose the money. And it's not like he's POTUS anymore so that influence is out the door. What's the angle?
  3. I want to see you write the sentence "I'd rather have Taylor Heinicke than Patrick Mahomes" Please say it.
  4. Yeah I'm glad we don't have either of those pathetic loser idiots on our team. You guys are legit lunatics. Certifiable.
  5. Thanks. Yeah that was my guess...probably another week or two since there were still plenty of clear heads. They have chunked up a decent amount since they first flowered, though I'm a little worried that the apparently P deficiency I had may have stunted their development. I've been working on remedying that with the Flower Stacker and I'm starting to see some hopeful signs (some new green sugar leaves growing on buds now) but who knows how much it will have messed things up in the end. Either way, even if it was stunted a bit, I'll still hopefully get a fair amount of decent quality bud, which is basically all I was hoping for out of my first grow. Next grow I'll be able to apply lessons learned. How close are you to harvest now? IIRC you were really close last week or so.
  6. Got some trichome pics. Curious what you guys think as far as how close they are to harvest (especially @Fresh8686). Each one is from one of the 3 plants. My gut intinct is that I'm probably about a week or so away as some of them are cloudy now. Plant 1 Plant 2 Plant 3
  7. When did I say he's no good? Yes, I think that's what he is: a middle of the pack QB. My gut is that's his ceiling but I could be wrong. And there's nothing wrong with that. My only point was that at the moment he statistically has more in common with QBs who never did anything than he does with those who were greats, which some of you guys seem intent on comparing him to. I'm fine with optimism, but some of this is just homerism...and to be honest that's somewhat understandable because as a fanbase we've been so QB starved for so long that we're basically trauma survivors at this point. We latch onto anything that gives us any hope. I like what Heinicke has done so far and he's clearly outplayed his draft status, or lack thereof. But I'm not going to start comparing him to great QBs when he hasn't even completely proven that he's a middle of the pack QB yet.
  8. I get it, but at this point it's just wishful thinking. Which is fine; I probably shouldn't be a debbie downer and rain on the parade. But the fact is that Heinicke so far statistically has far more in common with QBs who never did anything than those who were greats. Then stop doing it.
  9. Heinicke is 6-6 as a starting NFL QB with 19 TDs and 14 INTs. Can we wait a bit before deciding which Super Bowl winner he's the most like? Maybe until he wins a playoff game or two?
  10. On both SB runs he was absolutely on during the whole thing. 2007 he had 6 TDs to 1 INT and in 2011 he had 9 TDs to 1 INT. He was absolutely part of the reason they won those years.
  11. Eli definitely had years where he was top 10. Either way, comparing Heinicke to a HoFer is a bit premature. We should probably wait until he actually does something first. Just saying he's similar to Eli in some ways doesn't suddenly make him the next Eli. He also has plenty in common with other QBs who never did anything of note.
  12. Yeah those are fair. Though with Favre he went to a team where the coach didn't want him so that was pretty much doomed from the start. Young is another odd duck. He didn't truly become great until his 30s. Can't think of another guy who was that late of a bloomer. Though that was also in the 80s and early 90s and football was really different then.
  13. Interesting. I wonder if sativa is more popular in general or not. I'm personally more of an indica guy, as I enjoy a nice relaxing body high, but I do also like hybrids that have some body and some head as well. Pure sativa tends to make my anxiety worse sometimes so I usually stay away from it or I'm just very cautious in how much I smoke.
  14. I think I'll wait until Heinicke wins some playoff games before even starting to think about comparing him to Eli. He's also putting up similar numbers to tons of other QBs who did nothing. Eli isn't as good as his brother, but he's still probably a HoFer.
  15. Eli is a super odd duck though. During the regular season he was rarely playing at a truly elite level, but he was somehow pretty much always on and clutch during the playoffs and SBs. But yeah, I never truly saw Eli as an elite QB. He was good, but more of a top 10-ish guy than top 5 or top 3.
  16. They had absolutely nothing that was dominant sativa??
  17. I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. What elite QB has been developed by a team that didn't draft him? Brees maybe, but that's because they replaced him with what they thought was an upgrade at the time and Brees had just injured his throwing shoulder.
  18. For every middle tier QB that's won a SB there are god knows how many who never sniffed it. I just think mediocrity is pointless. Either keep going for being elite or don't do it at all. Maybe it's just a personality difference.
  19. That's fine, we disagree. I think it's very unlikely they extend him this offseason. They have plenty of other guys to pay with extensions coming up. If they truly think his ceiling is a mid tier QB then there's not much reason to overpay him or extend him at the moment, because it means he's not really far off from his ceiling now. If he becomes a FA he'd probably get interest, but nobody is going to open a bank vault for him. If anything, they should be rushing to preemptively re-up McLaurin. He's basically the only superstar level dude on this team so I'd rather try to get that taken care of sooner rather than later.
  20. Literally nobody is saying it's easy to find an elite franchise QB. Quite the opposite. We all know it's hard. What we're saying is that shouldn't mean you stop trying. You keep going until you find your guy. Some teams just get ****ing lucky. The Packers have had a HoF QB under center for literally 30 years. Colts went from Manning to Luck. Luck didn't end up being a HoF type QB but he was very good. Chiefs rolled the dice on a guy with high upside in Mahomes while they had a decent QB in Alex Smith who they had just gone to the playoffs with and it paid off huge. Some teams hit, some miss. But that doesn't mean you stop trying and just be content with mediocrity. The one max SB thing is purely a statistical artifact based on past middle tier QBs who have made it to the big game. They get there once and that's it. It's not a situation where I'm saying "Oh, he'll only get us to one SB so he's no good and we shouldn't keep him." I think it's incredibly unlikely he'll ever get to a SB, but as a middle tier QB, history says if he does, it will only be once.
  21. We already gave him life changing money. He was sleeping on his sister's couch and now he's a millionaire. I don't really see any reason to rush to extend him right now. He's shown himself to be a capable NFL QB but it's not like he's pulling a Mahomes and absolutely shredding teams to the tune of 4 or 5 TDs per week. At this point he's mostly a middle tier game manager NFL QB who can also make some plays with his legs when need be. And there's nothing wrong with that and it certainly isn't a bad thing to have, but it's also not a guy you need to move on to make sure you keep him or you'll either lose him or have to pay an insane amount later. We have him for cheap for another year. He's played well enough this season so far to say he can be our starter next year (assuming we don't bring in another guy or draft a guy who we want to start immediately), and I think that's enough for now. I'm sure they'll reevaluate his contract at the end of the season but barring him suddenly turning into an All-Pro I'm guessing they'll put off re-signing him until next year.
  22. I remember when trying to sign Derek Anderson was all the rage on here. That and some people wanting to give up 2 1st round picks for that numbskull Jay Cutler.
  23. Dude, @SoCalSkins still brings up stuff I said about Jason Campbell. That's goddamn dedication.
  24. Sure you but if you're a millionaire are you going to rest on that or keep trying to build your business towards billionaire range? The good of having a perennial contender and elite QB for a decade plus is just statistics. If you have an elite QB and you're a top notch team year in and year out, you're more likely to get all the way. The other way (middle tier QB, big time supporting cast and defense) is basically catching lightning in a bottle. It's possible, but I certainly wouldn't bet on it. That doesn't mean you'll definitely get to the SB or win one. But if you're a consistent 10+ per year win team with an elite QB for a decade then you're much more likely to go all the way than if you're an up and down or mediocre range team with a middle tier QB (or more likely several middle tier QBs in that time) that has to have a ton of stuff fall into place at the exact right time.
