  1. The Chargers job will be the 2nd best job after Chicago for two reasons, franchise QB and location. Herbert in my opinion, is a Top 5 QB, and any coach/GM would be drooling at the chance to work for a team that already has his guy, and to work for a team in sunny Los Angeles. Chicago has almost the same cap space as we do, but they’ll be drafting the most talented QB of the last decade at #1 AND they have another Top 10 pick, so they’re easily the best job for any coaching/GM candidate. This team will struggle to attract the top tier coaching/GM prospects, because we don’t have a franchise QB, and our “talent” is overrated. Sure, we’ll have plenty of cap space, and most likely a Top 4 pick, but the problem with Washington is that since we really don’t have a franchise QB, it’s going to be hard to sell this job as attractive, when you have SO many holes to fix with the OL, most of the D and no capable TE on the roster. The GM that does get hired is going to have to make some really tough decisions this offseason (including where we go at QB). This roster is a mess, and the fact that we don’t know if we have a franchise QB in Howell, or that we might have to draft one at Pick 3 or 4 is very complicated.
  2. LOL, you're 100% right. I used to hang around West Alexandria a LOT as a kid (had family living there). Are you near Bailey's Crossroads? That's an area that has escaped all of the re-development of Arlington/Alexandria until now. It's exactly like how it was about 20-25 years ago when I used to hang out at the old Skyline Mall (before it became a gigantic Target). Most of the immigrants in the DMV live in that part of Alexandria/Arlington. Lots of Arabs, Africans, Hispanics and some African-Americans as well.
  3. People are going to point to crime in the future, as a reason why the owner decided to leave DC, but it's just greed and capitalism at the end of the day. This will be a devastating blow for that part of town, and I can see it descending back into what it was before 1997. DC has been backsliding towards the 80s and 90s unfortunately when it comes to crime and lawlessness, and this move will gut the Downtown area. There's been close to 1,000 carjacking's in DC in 2023, and the number of homicides just reached 260, the highest number since 2002. DC has GOT to stat doing something about the crime and lawlessness, before more businesses and people move away from the city. There have been issues with the area within the last few years. The number of patrol cops and cars has decreased significantly, to the point that there are only 3 patrol cops guarding the area during game nights, when the teams requested that at least 30 cops patrol the area. Several businesses and stores have closed up (including the McDonalds right next to the arena). The area is seeing a big increase in robberies and carjacking's. That whole region is descending back into the mess it was 25-30 years ago.
  4. Rams have Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. All Stafford has to do is feed his receivers the ball, and the game will be over before Halftime. This secondary is not stopping those receivers, and Aaron Donald will have a field day against our OL. The Rams game has 35-17 written all over it. I'm going to be in the house for this one on Sunday. I'm only looking forward to my trip to LA, and my first time at SoFi Stadium. I'm excited to finally watch a game at a gem of an NFL stadium. The Jets game is the one that worries me. I agree that the Jets O is really bad, but they did show something in that win against the Texans last Sunday, and Wilson had his best day as a pro against a quality team. If that Zach Wilson shows up against us, the Jets won't have any issues beating us. Their D will kill this OL.
  5. Again, our religion doesn't need any President to "bow down" to our whims. I think asking for help in declaring a ceasefire to stop more Palestinians getting killed by the thousands is not too much to ask, and is certainly not anything unreasonable.
  6. I'm Muslim, and you're comment is exactly what will lead people of the Muslim community to throw their hands up and not vote in 2024. Instead of talking down to the Muslim community about how "stupid" they are for not voting for Biden, why don't you come up with reasons why they should (especially after seeing so many Palestinians killed - especially children). For the record, I will probably vote for Biden, but he's done absolutely NOTHING to convince the Muslim population in the U.S to vote for him, and I quite frankly don't blame Muslims if they feel differently. They're not going to vote for Trump, but they will probably sit out this election. Your arrogant, foolish comments don't necessarily help that community "see the light". It's also precisly the kind of comment I expect from "limousine, latte sipping" liberals that expect the minorities to bow down to their point of view, just because they happen to be less evil than the incompetent, psychotic Republican party. I could say a LOT more about you, and your kind, but I don't want to get banned, so I'll just end it here.
  7. I don't think age really matters anymore for coaching. McVay took the Rams job in his mid-30's. Zac Taylor, Matt LaFluer, & Kyle Shanahan were all in their 30's when they were hired to their respective positions. I think you need someone younger to connect to the players, and who might have fresh new takes on how to succeed as a football team. As long as we aren't hiring anyone over 55 or 60, who is a rah-rah old school goober like Rivera, it's fine. All I ask is that the new coach knows what he's doing on offense, and that he will be open to suggestions from the scouting team and the analytics team.
  8. Yes, the key is to have a young offensive coach to succeed in today's league. DeMeco Ryans is a very smart coach, who hired the right offensive coordinator to teach and mentor CJ Stroud. I think he's the exception to the rule as far as hiring coaches in today's league. You don't want to end up like the Bears, who completely whiffed on their HC hire when they nabbed Eberflus. That was a TERRIBLE HC hire for Justin Fields. I'm all in on trying to hire Ben Johnson or the Texans OC in the offseason. I don't want a defensive minded coach, to pair with a young QB (whether that's Howell or possibly a QB we draft like Maye or Daniels). We need to move into the current century to keep up with the other contending teams in the league.
  9. I think he's earned the right to speak as freely as he does about the state of this organization. This is a tire-fire, dumpster juice of an organization, and it's gotta be tough for players like Allen & McLaurin to deal with on a daily basis. Both those guys came from winning college programs, so it's gotta be tough to deal with a toxic dump of an organization, from the previous ownership, to the front office and the below average coaching staffs they've had in their years here in DC. I have no problem with Allen or McLaurin expressing their frustrations with what's going on. I would worry about them if they didn't feel that frustration to be honest with you. I remember fans getting on Trent Williams' case when he expressed those same frustrations as his cancer diagnosis fiasco was unfolding. Because of arrogance and stupidity from ownership and the coaching staff, we ran off the best LT of a generation. We're still feeling the affects of this today. I'd hate to run off other talented players (the few that we have), because fans can't handle the truth. We owe it to Allen & McLaurin to treat them the best way that we can, after all they've suffered with dealing with this basura franchise in their careers.
  10. Why would any Commanders fan go to a game at Fed-Ex Field when the team is out of the playoffs, and they’ve won only 1 home game all season? They’re lucky the stadium is even sold out as it is. Anyone going to the game today that’s not a Dolphins fan needs their head examined to be honest with you.
  11. Unfortunately, fans have wised up to what this team truly is under Rivera (and the last remnants of the Snyder FO/regime), and have already moved their focus to the offseason. I think if most fans were honest with themselves, this was the most likely outcome for the season, even before training camp. I knew we were in for a rough season once we finished the offseason with virtually no major upgrades or signings besides EB or naming Sam Howell the starter. This season always had the feeling of things getting ugly, and it’s now been fully realized. There’s not much to say about this current team at the moment. Now that our playoff chances are zero, the only reason to watch this team is for the continued development Sam Howell. I don’t give a damn about the rest of the team or our chances to win meaningless games the rest of the season, but I am looking to see how Howell progresses from here on out, and if he looks like a franchise QB by the end of the season. That would be the only positive outcome to come out of this disaster of a season. I couldn’t care less about the defense, since we’re looking at a MAJOR retooling of the entire unit by next season. I don’t care about the game results anymore either. If we lose today 35-31, and Howell looks great, that’s almost as good as a win at this point in a non-competitive season. The best thing to happen to this team from now until January is to play close games and lose, while Sam Howell continues to improve his QB play.
  12. That's because of the greatness of Allen, and that the Bills are MUCH more talented than this team is. McDermott, while nowhere near as bad as Staley, is not really doing the best job that he can to get Buffalo to breakthrough to get to SB's. He's a defensive coach at the end of the day. If you have a talented, Top 5 QB in Allen, you need to do find Allen the best OC that you can afford, so that he can excel to that next level. When they lost Daboll, Allen reverted back to his old habits at the beginning of his career as a turnover machine. He's playing a LOT more reckless the past two years, than he did the 3 years he was coached under Daboll. Since McDermott is a defensive minded HC, he's not going to be as adaprtive and quick to adjust Buffalo's offense like an offensive minded coach would be. If a Matt LaFleur or Sean McVay type coach were coaching Buffalo, Allen would be a lot better off.
  13. Jokic is “boring” to the general public. He’s a superstar who’s foreign AND doesn’t really care about press or media presence. Not to slam him or his accomplishments, but the NBA Finals had the lowest ratings in about 20 years (almost as bad as when the Nets & Pistons were making NBA Finals appearances in the early 2000s). Jokic is great, but nobody really cares about the Nuggets on a National level. I would’ve gone with Kelce, Mahommes or Ohtani. They’ve been the biggest and most intriguing stories in sports for 2023 by far. I can see why they went with Coach Prime, he was looking like a force to be reckoned with in September. He had people who never watch college football tuning in to see Colorado games. Colorado is responsible for 2 of the 5 highest rated college football games this year. Sanders was a logical pick when you think about his impact and buzz earlier in the Fall.
  14. I just think that TE is not just simply a plug in and play type deal with this team. It's a blinking red light issue as far as I'm concerned, right after our OL situation. We HAVE to upgrade our TE room, and if it takes drafting a TE on Day 1 of the draft, then that's what we need to do. We can't go another season with subpar TE play, especially with a young, emerging QB that has the tools of becoming our franchise QB going forward. We cannot settle for another year of Logan Thomas and Cole Turner. We're putting Howell at a disadvantage, with a subpar TE room.
  15. Sorry, but I strongly disagree with this. TE is a vital need that we need to address through either the draft or FA. If we had a good/great TE, that would open up so many things for our passing game. The lack of TE quality on this team is derailing what we could be offensively (aside from OL, which we all know is a disaster zone as well). If we were to get a great TE prospect like Brock Bowers, he would be an outstanding playmaker for our offense. He would open up the passing game, and he is an excellent blocker. We need to get a TE in this upcoming draft. I would even suggest picking TE in Round 1 or 2, because I feel it's that important. I don't want to have to go into another season with a below average TE group. Logan Thomas and Cole Turner can kick rocks after this season.
  16. Lucky for us, the team doesn't have to try to tank, they just actually suck. They can try as hard as they want to to win, but they still really suck. I'm comforted by the fact that they won't be able to backdoor into any frustrating, meaningless victories with their schedule coming up. They can (and probably will) lose out, while giving their "best effort" (LOL).
  17. No to McDermott. The Bills SB window has closed, and Josh Allen is just entering his prime. They wasted their window to get to and win a SB, and now McDermott is the odd man out in Buffalo. Buffalo needs an offensive minded coach to get the best out of Allen, because clearly McDermott is not the right coach for him to take that next leap. When you have a franchise QB like Allen or Herbert, you need an offensive minded coach to mold that QB, and get the best out of your offense. Look at what Herbert's going through in LA. Staley is ruining Herbert's chances to compete just exactly like McDermott is in Buffalo with Herbert. McDermott is nowhere near as bad as Staley, but he's not an offensive guy, and Allen needs the right offensive minded coach. They actually had that person in Brian DaBoll. Look at how Allen's regressed since DaBoll left. If we're sticking with Howell, we need to get the best offensive minded coach that money can buy. It will do wonders for him and our offense. No more defensive minded coaches or retreads. There's proof of this too. Look at Jordan Love for example. Just a couple of weeks ago, people were wondering whether or not Love would be a bust in GB, but now he's starting to figure things out, and has cut down his turnovers dramatically, and he's looking comfortable in the pocket. The reason for that is his coach Matt LaFleur. He's a great young offensive minded coach, and he's figured out a game plan to get the best out of Jordan Love, to the point where he looks like a legit starting QB. On the other hand, Kenny Pickett has regressed severely, and he's looking lost and overwhelmed in Pittsburgh. He's getting worse each week, and that's because they have a defensive minded coach, who doesn't manage the offensive side of the ball well. They just fired their disaster of an OC in Matt Canada. I bet you that Pickett will continue to struggle, until they get the right offensive coordinator/coach to improve him.
  18. That's not fair to Saleh though. If Aaron Rodgers doesn't get hurt the first series on offense of the season for the Jets, I firmly believe that they'd be at least a wild card team if Aaron plays at the level that he did last year. If he was playing at an MVP level like 2-3 years ago, the Jets would be the best team in the AFC with that defense. It wasn't Saleh's call to draft Zach Wilson (That's their idiotic GM's fault), and the team was unbelievably unlucky that Rodgers got hurt so early on. Wilson is the worst QB in the league. The only other QB that might be in that stratosphere is Mac Jones. Wilson is barely backup level at best. I bet he's out of the league after his contract runs out, or he's cut by the Jets. He's that horrific. If the Jets fire Saleh after this season, then Woody Johnson is a bigger moron than I even thought. The last thing wrong with that team is the HC. I do think they'll fire Hackett, or at least convince Rodgers that they have to move in a different direction at OC.
  19. W've had HORRIBLE leadership, which lead to extremely poor choices whenever we had a Top 10 pick. Now that the leadership has/or will change for the better, I have absolutely NO problems wishing for losses. What kind of good is it to win meaningless games, and screw up our chances at legitimate blue chip talent? That's how you end up with the Jonathan Allen's, Terry McLaurin's and the Darron Payne's of the world, good players, but not game breaking elite players like Myles Garrett, Aaron Donald, Justin Jefferson, JaMarr Chase. We're in the perpetual state of picking just outside of the Top 10, or far enough away from the Top 5 for the past decade (Save for 2020), to have it impact the amount of elite players we have. We don't have a single All-Pro talent on this team. We have a couple of guys that might make a Pro-Bowl as an alternate, but we don't have any game-changing, elite playmakers that can single-handedly win you games. That's why we've been mediocre under Rivera (and before that with Gruden). Don't get me wrong, coaching makes a GIGANTIC difference, but our best players are just "very good", not great or elite. That's what we need to fix going forward. We need to get ourselves in the best position to acquire and attain elite playmakers.
  20. Sorry, but HELL NO to this. We have a pretty decent chance to right a gigantic wrong from back in 2020, the last time we picked in the Top 5 of the draft, and get a premier blue chip prospect, who has the ceiling of being an elite player. Winning some BS, meaningless games at the end of the year does us absolutely no good, and hurts our chances at getting a premier OL player, or a stud WR/TE if that is what the new regime chooses. We’re not making the playoffs, even is we win out, so why take ourselves out of a prime talent acquisition standing? It makes no sense, and it actually hurts the new incoming regime. I don’t give a damn about anyone on this team, save for Allen, Payne, Curl, McLaurin, Dotson, Robinson and Howell. The only thing I care about between now and the end of the season is Howell’s development. This season changed to evaluation mode the moment we lost to the Giants at home last week. This season is over from a competitive standpoint.
  21. Nantz & Ron are CBS’s #1 team. Because we’re such as loser franchise, we don’t get the top crews very often. In fact, I think Nantz & Romo haven’t called a Washington game in at least 5 years. We haven’t gotten the Top FOX crew all season either. We don’t have any Sunday Night Football appearances or Monday Night Football appearances this year either. With games like the one we had earlier, it’s easy to see why this team is consistently buried in the 1PM window with F or G level announcing teams, and no primetime games.
  22. I predicted this to a tee in the prediction thread, where I said that the team would keep it close with the Cowboys, and then the damn would break in the 2nd half, and we lose 48-14. I was so close to the original score, DAMN!! I hope I’m right about my other prediction, that Ron Rivera and JDR have coached their last game here in DC. Come on Josh, make me 2-2!!!
  23. This exactly. The Bears won’t just have the #1 pick in the draft (from the Panthers), they almost definitely will have a Top 5 pick as well. They very well could draft Caleb, and then Marvin Harrison Jr. with their next pick at 3, 4 or 5 in the 1st Round. Could you imagine having the chance to draft the best QB prospect since Trevor Lawrence/Andrew Luck AND drafting the best WR prospect since Justin Jefferson/JaMarr Chase? That would be mighty intriguing to any potential coaching prospects. The Bears will also have almost $70 Million in cap space next season, so that’s another layer to add to the attractiveness of the Bears job.
  24. Sorry, but this isn’t correct AT ALL. Herbert is MOST DEFINITELY a Top 5 QB in the league. He can make any throw, and his accuracy is insane. People look at box scores and don’t see the whole picture. Take last week for example, Chargers WR’s had 4 drops in their loss to the Packers (3 of them inside the opponent’s 10 Yard line), but people look at the box score, and see that Herbert was 21/36 for 260 Yds and 2TD’s and think that he got outperformed by Jordan Love, who was 27/40 for 322 Yards passing and 2TD’s. It’s laughable that fans call Herbert overrated, or think that he’s overhyped, when the truth is that he does everything possible to get his team in a position to win every week, despite the fact that he has a terrible defense, and a HC that just might be as clueless and arrogant as Ron Rivera in Brandon Staley. The Chargers have a LOT of talent, and a Top 5 QB. They most certainly are a premier destination for any top coach this offseason. Washington is not as talented as the Chargers, AND you have to build a completely new OL & defense secondary, along with constructing a new scouting department and front office. We’re probably the 2nd or 3rd most popular destination after LA.
  25. This. If the Chargers job becomes available, it instantly becomes a top destination for any hot coaching prospect. Herbert in my opinion is a Top 5 QB, who could be even better, with the right offensive minded HC. The Chargers overall have a VERY talented team, especially on the defensive end. The Chargers are 100% going to hire a hot OC to become their new coach. Its almost a lock, after the unspeakably awful job Staley has done as Chargers HC (being a former DC). If I’m a coach trying to pick where I land, LA is #1 by a long shot. I think Ben Johnson will end up there. We don’t have a shot at him in my opinion, because I think that the talent on our team is NOT up to par with the Chargers, and we’re going to start completely over in our front office and scouting departments. We’re more of a long term fix, as opposed to a quick fix like the Chargers are. I do believe that we might be able to hire someone like Bobby Slowik from the Texans, or the Seattle OC. That wouldn’t be bad at all.
