  1. Who do you guys think would win a fight between Spock and Yoda?
  2. Yes, sort of like that maybe. Just to broaden the scope a bit, include some info. on how the rebellion was aware of the Death Star but Han Solo and Luke weren't until they accidentally ran into it.
  3. I might be too, but the one thing is that it looks way too similar to Star Wars. In my opinion, they should take it in another direction, perhaps look into other issues in the Stars Wars universe such as the politics of the galactic senate, so we can see how the emperor came to power. Or maybe something to do with sports in the SW universe.
  4. Yeah, just finding Han wasn't going to be enough. I don't understand why he didn't just shoot Han in the back. He had to sit at the table with him and talk **** first, which gave Han the chance to blast him (first right!!). Guess it wouldn't have been much of a movie if a main character responsible for flying Luke off the planet had died in a bar scene during the first half hour.
  5. There's a shadowy subliminal image of a penis in the right side of that teaser poster. Profile view. Totally gross.
  6. Hated him in Troy though, which was the only other "epic" movie I recall him in.
  7. The cling-ons were real assholes in The Undiscovered Country. Especially that guy from The Sound of Music. You should check it out. I guess they didn't have a problem framing and then sentencing a "half-breed" to a remote gulag. You'd think Spok would want to get more in touch with his human side in light of that. Yes, and father of Stephanie. Makes great action movies based on sci-fi material, adapts them for the screen, etc. Loved his work in New Moon.
  8. So a frat boy stole a banner that the North Koreans put out as bait? Hmmmm.... Btw- I wasn't aware you could actually visit both korea, and I have no idea why anyone would want to unless they had family there or something.
  9. Do u guys think there will be a star wars 10 (or X)? Just wait until its revealed that Kylo is boba fett's son. And Kylo killed the wrong guy.
  10. I'm sorry if I have offended you with my theories and ideas. It was not my intention. I, like most here, only want the book closed on this issue.
  11. Link? If the emperor survived getting thrown down the pit by vader, why not Han? A different actor could play him, maybe a younger version though.
  12. "He's dead get over it." Isn't that what c3po said to Han about Luke on Hoth? I bet he takes one of those uncredited roles like Daniel Craig. Maybe just have him as a storm trooper that gets killed right at the beginning of Episode VIII. Like he switched to the empire because of Kylo. But have him take off his mask as he's dying so we know it's him.
  13. I thought it was his stomach. Plus, why can't they just give him a robot stomach like they gave Luke a robot arm?
  14. FYI-- I confirmed this past weekend through watching the Empire Strikes Back that a character can have his arm cut off, fall down a seemingly endless abyss, hang upside down on a pair of rabbit ear antennas for about 20 minutes, and then survive. Not only survive, but be up and walking within 10 minutes of receiving treatment from a robot on a ship clearly not equipped to render medical aid. So yes, Han Solo's "accident" in Episode VII (and that's what it was, an accident) does not mean he's dead. At least not to me. Yes, I understand the he was impaled, but from what I have learned the light sabers automatically cauterize the wounds they create. I've also seen quite a few people [mostly when traveling through (as opposed to living in) the Glen Burnie area] that have these ear things that create these giant holes in the ear lobe. I think its tribal or something. So it's at least probable, if not likely, that the light saber did the same thing to Han. Now he just has a neat, perfectly sealed, 3 inch diameter hole in his mid-section, which can be easily filled in by something (I actually hope now, for his sake, that he doesn't end up in prison for any of those things he claims to have done in his past, because he would definitely be the most popular "new fish" in the facility).
  15. Actually I though episode VII was pretty good. So did most others.
  16. Without reading the 9 prior pages, my personal opinion based up life experiences, and based upon what I have "heard" about other countries/regions, the United States is better at the multi-racial, multi-ethnic, live amongst each other thing than anywhere else on Earth. Some of these other countries have barely started the "melting pot" process, and we're 200 years into it. Hopefully they'll be able to look at our history and avoid most of our problems, but we can see some of these growing pains in other places. I think we're ahead of the pack. This isn't say there are not still problems of course, but we are far ahead of the game. No time to relax though, progress must continue and problems must be taken seriously.
  17. I thought Disney World was pretty nice. So was Universal Studios. And Merritt Island.
  18. I thought the biggest problem with the first two movies was that Spock was half human and all of his struggles with that. In the original series he was full clingon, so it wasn't this annoying thing we had to keep hearing about.
  19. Shouldn't this all be merged to the Star Wars thread?
  20. Looking at the current standing, if we beat the Giants on Sunday we'll be in first place in the division, regardless of what anyone else does. Tied with the Giants at 5-6, split the season series at 1-1, but with a better division record (2-3 vs. 2-1). If Eagles win, they're 5-6, but 0-1 against us. Cowboys can't get to 5-6. So we would actually be in 1st. Of course, there's a ton of divisional games to be played the last 5 weeks of the season (we have 3), so things will likely look much different.
  21. So now the new Prometheus movie is called "Alien" but the Alien movie is on hold? But in the new Prometheus movie we're gonna find out about the aliens? Sounds like we just combined the two movies. Ok by me. Is Charles S. Dutton signed on yet?
  22. Omg... You guys hate Mayweather and Pacquio so much.
  23. Bottom line here is that they'll make more money talking exclusively about the Redskins than if they were to mix it up. So playing to the lowest common denominator is the only path to maximum listener-ship. There are very few times when that would change, perhaps during a Nats playoff run, the morning after a Wiz or Caps playoff victory, or the Friday morning after Tiger Woods shoots an opening round 65 at the Masters (or an 82). My only wish is that the quality improve, but you can't make chick salad out of chicken ****, which is what these guys have to work with.
  24. People die from heat waves too and from parasites and other things that live especially in tropical climates. Response: Less people = Less consumption of resources, less pollution, less extinction of species, and mo' money for all the leftovers. Hotter temperatures don't mean more solar energy for solar panels. It also doesn't mean longer growing seasons in many cases. Response: Then use boilers... Mo' heat = less energy need to heat boilers = energy savings for all, mo' money for some. Hotter temperatures does not mean more sun light in the context of CO2 induced climate change. Mo' CO2 = more air for plants = mo' food = mo' money for billionaires who will control the farms. Us adding CO2 to the atmosphere isn't going to increase the amount of sun light coming into the Earth. Won't hurt it either. Hotter temperatures mean more water held in the atmosphere. I don't think (and certainly know) that correlates to more rain. In addition, there will be more ocean so more of the area will be water. Why wouldn't that more rain come down on the larger ocean? Mo' Ocean = mo' water which cannot be denied. Boil the water in the boilers to purify, and make it rain on the crops. 5 might actually be right. Are you going to help move the people and put in the new infrastructure (roads, sewers, etc)? What's the costs? No, but I'll negotiate the contracts for both the move and the construction contract for the new road, buildings, and other infrastructure. Will also buy stock in those construction outfits. Hotter also means killing things that live in more temperate water, especially with the increased CO2 and related drop in the pH. Hotter also means more sea creatures that live in warmer waters. So it'll balance out. (I've said before, I think long term climate change being good or bad is a coin flip at a total population level. Changes in precipitation patterns is going to be key. If rain moves from falling over fertile areas moves to the Sahara, you are still going to have a very hard time (or expensive) growing crops. Short term and for the US, things are different. If somebody wants to tell me they don't really care about the US or short term costs, I can see the argument for just letting it happen.) Perhaps its time to switch up some of the farmland anyway. Field rotation on a large scale. Mo' food = mo' money. Overflowing rivers = silt deposits in flood plains and rich farmland. See Nile River basin circa 2500 B.C.
