Kendall Fuller is really interesting to me. Keim said on his podcast a few days ago that he thinks he knows what’s going on with him but didn’t want to say anything until he knows for sure. This is in reference to him not playing at all in the two preseason games. He practiced against the ravens so I know he’s not injured but Keim alluding to there being “something” has me wondering if they’re trying to keep him healthy for a potential trade. I know it’s been thrown around here some but I personally hate that idea. We have really good depth at corner and safety overall but BSJ has shown injury concerns his first two years and I think Quan still needs some seasoning before significant playing time. Fuller isn’t all world but he has been durable and a strong player for us. We finally have the secondary to pair with our dline that should give guys like sweat the extra moment they need to get home. I doubt fuller fetches anything more than a fifth rounder at most given he’s a little older and just doesn’t have the name recognition. I think he’s worth more than that to us to stay and provide more flexibility and depth (yes he’s a starter but in terms of injuries to other corners).

I think after film study and in the regular season we’ll see Howell hold on to a few more of those and run it himself. He’s wide open. And once he does it should help take a defender away which will help the run game some. But so far I agree. Which is weird and somewhat scary cuz all we’ve heard from reports and podcasts is this line should be better run blocking.

I’m actually not super worried about him. Paulsen may be biased toward tight ends but said he may have been the MVP of camp so far. Given that and that he seems to be a focus of the offense and a smart player who really seems to have the offense down I think they really are just giving him as much as rest as possible. He may not give us 17 games this year but I think he’s going to be huge for us.

My point still stands - two practices against another team doesn’t tell me there is causality behind it. Keep in mind I am ecstatic we are doing the joint practices and I think it is a massive amount of value added. I’m just having a hard time seeing how two practices this week has any meaningful effect on injuries 1.5 months from now.

Everything I’ve heard is that Mauch has looked great in camp. That being said the report on him last night was that he struggled quite a bit and had a holding penalty and a false start. Sounds like both of them had a bit of a rough introduction but I do expect both to be good players. And yes with our safety logjam I do agree Mauch would have made a lot more sense.

Welcome to the Washington Commanders Phidarian Mathis DT Alabama
moondog replied to PCS's topic in The Stadium
BUH. Thought he looked like he was hobbling trying to chase down that play. Hope it’s nothing serious. That being said, could be a blessing in disguise. We have a SERIOUS numbers game on our hands with 11 linemen (at least) worthy of the roster: DE: Young, Sweat, Smith-Williams, Toohill, Henry, Jones, Obada DT: Allen, Payne, Ridgeway, Mathis That still leaves solid players like Abdullah and Potoae’a on the outside and 11 to begin with seems excessive. Maybe if you can find a way to IR Mathis it works out best for everyone til the next injury arrives. -
I try to only listen to him when no one else has new content. Listening in to him and, I think bram, the other day just speculate for like 50 minutes about Ron’s comments and literally just making up a story of intent behind it made me want to puke. Thank God for Hoffman and Logan. When Standing said Fromm has been the most consistent and thinks he’s close to a roster lock…just blew my mind. I could do that guy’s job tomorrow smh
