  1. I never said our colors were not burgundy and gold. I opine the pants they were wearing as recent as last year are yellow to my eyes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow The words yellow and gold come from the same origin.
  2. Hate our all white uniforms, looks like practice. Yellow, yes, yellow not gold, pants I can take or leave. Feel like we need a revamp of some sort. Right now, my favorite NFL uniforms, other than our's because it is still my team even with the emperor that has no clothes... 1. Buffalo Bills - when they ditched the red and went back to their classic look, it pops. Looks great. 2. New Orleans Saints - IN White, the white and gold with black outline with gold helmet, great look. 3. Minnesota Vikings - Can't say I will love the all grape look but their normal look is great mainly because I love the matte finish helmet.
  3. I don't know what to hope for. I voted that FedEx will be filled with Dallas fans. However, will that dilute the message that empty seats can send more loudly to the front office that the rudderless direction and spiteful actions you have conducted over the years have finally defeated the most loyal fan and they have embraced the apathy you have created. Empty seats look bad for the league as a whole and maybe that will provide pressure from peers to push for change.
  4. Play call was Jay but don't think he expected Colt to throw in double coverage. So, going to blame both of them on that one. 10 yards underneath was all we needed. I need to watch the replay and see how many seconds tick off waiting for that moonball to come down.
  5. I have a Cooley jersey in that throwback. I liked the combo for a bit but not to get all superstitious but I think our record is crap in them. Maybe we won 1 game, not sure. Problem is, you can find issues or extended periods of suck with most of our throwbacks. The best throwback we got will forever be stained with Wuerffel, Matthews and OBC.
  6. Can we file a grievance with the NFL as part of the #metoo movement? Political Disclaimer - This comment was in no way meant to belittle the seriousness of sexual assault or harassment of women. It is simply a light hearted attempt at humor about the suckitude of our franchise.
  7. We beat the Packers in white pants. Wore burgundy pants against AZ. 1-2 in white pants. They should have worn brown pants last night as bad as they crapped the bed.
  8. I bet it is the white pants. That is fine, don't mind the look too much. Now, what the Saints wore last week against the G-Men? That is their best look. The White jerseys with Gold Numbers and black outlining the numbers and the white pants, they looked good. Their black pants suck, so glad they are wearing those tonight. As far as our uniform overhaul, the white helmets look pretty cool and I never thought about that as an option, kudos for thinking outside the box. The problem with our gold, is that it is still not gold to me, and when you pair the jerseys with yellow cleats, looks like San Diego Chicken uniforms a bit. I still think we need to tweak modernize or go back and modernize an old look but just don't know what combo.
  9. I kept hoping for Doctson to succeed but think we have seen enough. I laugh because some were calling him the new Rod Gardener, 50/50...Doctson would have to put up some numbers to reach that level, he is like 20/80 right now. We are playing on the road on a fast track, I really think put whatever speed you have out there, if Floyd is at the right weight or if Harris' head is not cloudy, just let them go, Smith is not going to have time for gimpy Josh to limp through his pattern just in time for him to gator arm it or jump out of the Superdome to make what we think will be a great catch only to lay the ball on the turf when gravity has its say.
  10. Great post StephenB. That can only mean one thing, at some point this year, you will see the Color Rush Gold jersey with Burgundy pants.
  11. I hope that is part of it. Given the game Moses and Williams had and the predictable snap count, Smith did not have a lot of time to locate Doctson, Richardson or Crowder. I did not get to go to Training Camp this year to see what the chemistry was or wasn't with the wideouts. Going to chalk it up to a bad game all around and I can't judge the AZ game as we really didn't throw to WR's that game. I think to have a puncher's chance against GB, we will have to incorporate the WR's and take some shots but the line better block better and the Rhino Rhino crap better be changed up or Clay Matthews will have some career resurgence game with 4 sacks.
  12. I wouldn't mind a return to the spear helmets. But, if they were to go such a route, and we all know they won't, would love to go with the matte finish helmet like the Vikings. While the whole throwback came around because of money, what is old is new again, love when Buffalo went back to the white and blue and ditched the Kelly era red. Vikes move was good, back to old school and the aforementioned change on the helmet. The uniforms and color pallet are different enough that if you take those designs and colors from the past, they can look bad ass now. I don't want them to go the Oregon Ducks modern, color rush throw up, just modernize the old school look.
  13. I would not mind the gold on gold as much if they went burgundy socks and black cleats so they didn't look like the San Diego Chicken.
  14. eh, burgundy on burgundy, hopefully the shade will look better because back in that Pittsburgh game when they wore it, they sort of looked like Grape Ape. The NFL needs to do away with the color rush and Thursday Night Football before Thanksgiving. Let teams have more alternate uniforms, within reason, and if they want or don't want to dress up like the San Diego Chicken, so be it.
  15. Whoa. Dallas is going blue? Images of Gary Hogeboom and curse of the Cowpies playing dark blue.
  16. Well, I was at that Dallas game with Shanahan and that holding penalty was so egregious, the entire stadium called it. I am not saying their is or is not a conspiracy but that example is flawed.
  17. Okay, the yellow socks with pants and tops...no thanks, not even on Madden. Somewhere the San Diego Chicken is looking for his bottoms.
  18. Ahhh...burgundy and velveeta...normally a nice pairing of a meal, wine and shells and cheese but for a uniform? That gives me indigestion.
  19. Yeah but like a cheese, some have more stench than others and I would have to say the Spurrier era might be the head cheese or limburger of stenches.
  20. I also said, hope I am wrong, which means I hope something big does happen. Just curious though, you say you are happy with our uniforms but your screen name and logo in your signature suggest you might like a return to the throwback helmet? The 70th anniversary throwback uniform are my favorite throwback and I like that shade of burgundy better but they also have the stench of Spurrier, every UF QB to play for us, Jaquez Green and pepper spray.
  21. I have learned to temper my expectations with Allen and his announcements. For example, big announcement coming...and it's Beathard for the Ring of Fame. Granted, he deserves it and it's overdue but the lead up and hype suggested more. I know the media plays into this as well but when Allen says he will be doing some things this year with our uniforms, I expect more like change in laundry detergent than design. Hope I am wrong.
  22. Those Tampa uniforms are the absolute worst. Every time I see their jersey I want to hit this snooze button on a digital alarm clock. I still want to push for a matte finish helmet...looks old school, really like how it works for the Vikings. Buffalo went back to their classic look with their uniform change and they look sharp. I know for sure, I don't want white pants and I don't want gold pants with white jerseys on the road. It really looks like the circus came to town because it is not the same look as it was in the 70's when the Redskins were on the road. Apples and oranges, colors just appear different now, whether it is the material, the lighting of the stadium, cameras and HD or a combination. You look at the George Allen Redskins uniforms on the road back then and I don't want to throw up but it was a totally different look. I grew up and associate success with the burgundy pants and white jerseys but also have to remember we wore those during Heath Shuler era and some real stink bombs of seasons.
  23. Yeah, the white on white look to me like practice uniforms, we talking about practice. Remind me of the KC Chiefs with Montana when they would wear the all white a lot. Have to agree on bringing back burgundy pants...the Windows 3.11 Hot Dog theme road uniforms have to go...well, they way of Windows 3.11 Glad to see mentions of how are stripes and shades of color don't seem to jive quite right, figure those have to be fixed. I wouldn't mind us going to a matte finish helmet a la the Vikes,
