  1. If credible, that sucks...like I didn't have enough reasons to not watch Thursday Night games last year, the NFL throws in Color Rush. I could simply tune in, see the ridiculous colors and then turn the channel but now when the Redskins are playing on Turkey Day against their bitter rival, the NFL rolls this out. So many things that are making me bitter about today's NFL but the all out money grab every time you turn around just seems to throw tradition of the old game out the window.
  2. Ugh! The Browns changes are ho-ho-horrendous. Not to mention, they should never be allowed to play the Jets...like peas and carrots gone bad.
  3. It's a shame as all the uniform combos have been tainted with ineptitude now. The white jerseys and burgundy pants from our glory years went away when Joe retired. I think of Heath Shuler and Gus Frerotte head butting a wall as much as I think of Riggo's run or Ryp hitting Gary Clark on a deep ball. The best throwbacks we have are polluted by the thought of Steve Spurrier, "5 and 11...not too good" You don't say OBC? The canary yellow, don't try and convince me they are gold, R with feather Lombardi uniforms remind me of blown leads and suggest an identity from another team. The all white look for Joe Part Deux looked like practice uniforms in my book. Our current throwback, the most recent, can't match the right shades of burgundy between the jersey and the helmet. I like what the Vikings and Bills have done with their uniforms. The matte finish helmet looks sick for the Vikes and might just be because it's purple. May work real nice for burgundy. The Bills going back to the classic 70's look of OJ and Joe Ferguson, even though they sucked in the late 70's looks really good with that shade of blue. There have been some great suggestions in here, and some bad ones. I like the idea(s): Using the shade of gold pants from our throwback and not the current mustard, hot dog theme from Windows 3.11, Ronald McDonald look on the road. Matte finish Burgundy helmets, shade of burgundy to match the numbers on white jerseys with just plain burgundy numbers no gold outline and burgundy jerseys with gold numbers. Like the suggestions on fixing the piping with one big broad stripe on pants and helmet as mentioned earlier.
  4. I agree on the matte finish helmets. I think my favorite uniforms in the NFL right now are the Vikings and the Bills. When the Bills went back to their 70's look with the white helmets and they have a great blue.
  5. Our current version of "gold" pants and when we wear the burgundy tops, we look like the Hot Dog theme from Windows 3.11 Our throwback versions are more of a Gulden's Mustard, which I prefer. When we are on the road with yellow pants and white tops, we do look like Ronald McDonald out there. Don't know if they would even entertain overhauling the uniforms if there is pending name change but in the meantime, I think we should go back to the burgundy pants. Just my preference, anything to change things up, get a new vibe. I know you can't put lipstick on a pig but time to put the mustard and ketchup back in the fridge.
  6. I love the colors and logo, everything about it. You just know what would happen from the political correctness junkies and the 4 letter, they would be all over how stereotypical and what a racial slur the logo is. Which nobody should ever mention as long as Chief Wahoo is still allowed to grace caps in Cleveland. Hell of an effort though. How great this would look with the throwbacks.
  7. Yeah, have to give the Vikes props for switching back to the older shade or deeper shade of purple. The new purple look to much like sweetart or a purple Spree that had been sucked on for a while As far as our beloved Skins, I cannot say I would be against a uniform redux. I can't beleive that the folks in marketing and the FO would miss a chance to build on the momentum of RGIII and revamp the uniform for instant $ales, they might wait one more year but I think it would be coming. Didn't the Broncos uniform change come under Shanahan? Was he a driving force or innocent bystander. A little different situation since the Big D was associated with losing Super Bowls and our proud uniform is associated with winning them but I have to think something is in the pipeline already.
  8. Wow! Can we just go ahead and eliminate Jacksonville as a franchise? If you are going to go with this look, might as well rename them the Thundercats, HO!!!
  9. Well, instead of Enter Sandman or some other anthem, I assume the Steelers will run through the tunnel to Flight of the Bumble Bee. I have a sudden craving for tuna as well. Dan T. put up an offering in the Look a Like thread with this uniform. I mentioned this would be in a three way race for worst throwbacks, these, the Eagle blue and yellow crap and of course, the Denver Broncos original brown and yellows.
  10. Ha...so glad somebody caught that. If I could only remember important things. I agree 100% the old gold that we had for 70th Anniversary was the way to go, both those colors. I could go with that for a permanent uniform.
  11. Nope, I thought the same thing. Got to be really annoying when we made a big play but you were holding your breath to see if you really saw a flag.I would think at least one game for the 80th year throwbacks will be Thanksgiving. Even though it is on the road, it is the whole country watching and Dallas trots out their hideous throwbacks on that day every year. The other game will have to be a home game, just not sure which one, maybe this week.
  12. Ding! Good call, the Michigan gold. Despite the color wheel being correct about it being gold, I think we really need to switch it up and make it a Gulden's Mustard gold. Maybe Danny could work that in to a sponsorship deal with the large pretzels. The current outfit looks way to McDonald's or the old Windows 3.11 color scheme of Hot Dog Stand.
  13. Totally understand your pain. I am lucky at my age to have enjoyed all the Super Bowl Champion seasons but this period of exile is very disheartening. I am not superstitious by any means but I know some folks attribute this horrific run to karma and the team name, I dismiss that and attribute it to a poorly run front office, but I think the ship is in the process of being righted and by the time you are blowing out the candles on your 30th, you will have some far better memories.
  14. I agree, I don't think the *newer* Broncos uniforms are bad. I think as a fanbase we like the old ones becuase it brings back such good memories for the Redskins.I did think the old Patriots uniform was great, so much better than the Funky Phantom on the side of the helmet. But, the Patriots were a doormat for a long time with those uniforms and if you think about Denver, they never got over the hump in their old uniforms. Not buying into the theory that clothes make the team if you will but if you are trying to change a culture...
  15. I don't think there is any way they move the Week 1 games off the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. My guess is that a lot of time and money have gone into planned tributes. I am not saying that can't move it but I would bet it would be a very last resort.
  16. The quote from the Cleveland Browns fan hits home, gave me chills. I was 12 years old sitting indian style in front of the, what was considered big back then, Zenith. Never budged, too superstitious, had all my Redskins stuff layed out in front of me. Legs cramped up, didn't matter, could not move for fear of busting the mojo. Finally sprung to my feet when Darryl Grant high stepped into the endzone, immediately fell down due to lack of blood flow to my feet. A more treasured memory than a Super Bowl victory.
  17. **** Dallas! Cannot wait for Jerry Jones to come down to the sidelines to try and inspire/intimidate his team when they are losing in the 4th quarter. If FedEx does not bring it this week, myself included, and is not good for at least two penalties and two timeouts, then we have failed.
  18. I guess December will be Shaun Suisham. Calendar makers should stick with stars that are under contract.
  19. Much better than the boxing pay per views I had been getting so I think I am going to change the spending habits. Next time, a keg and more people should offset the cost.
  20. That was my first pay per view UFC and I enjoyed it. Can't say I am a big fan of Lesnar but geez, the guy has no neck and granite for fists. I was hoping Mir was going to pull some great submission move while he was down because the announcers kept saying oh, he is great when he is down, but it never came. I actually watched it with my friend from England and when that fighter from Manchester went down, he was like just like all fighters from England. That was one hell of a shot though, I think I felt like the pay per view was justified then so I will probably get another soon.
  21. I can't go through the whole thread but please God, no more burgundy on burgundy. (You, stay classy San Diego) I couldn't remember what it reminded me of that Monday Night but then it hit me...
  22. I think the Steelers feel about their white jerseys the way Dallas feels about their blue jerseys, so I love the move. It's MNF, national stage, pivotal game to prove we are a contender...geez, getting amped up for this. Wish I was going to be at the game.
