  1. I assume you mean Rodriguez, and I agree, he has looked great when given the chance. He needs more carries. With he and brob, we should be looking at pass catching back in draft.
  2. I pray it's not us, but Im not worried about bc it doesn't make any sense for him to come here. We don't have our GM in place, new ownership is looking to build something new with their vision, and after just hiring an analytics guy, I expect the hires to be young up and comers, not dinosaurs. I think any team would be foolish to hire belichick at this point in his career, but I could see the chargers doing it. They are a sloppy team with bad coaching, but have a ton of talent. They may want to see belichick clean up the sloppiness and see if he can get them a ring. Allen, ekeler, mack are all aging, and they might prefer bill over a young guy with growing pains if they feel their window is closing.
  3. It's funny you posted that bc last night I was reading up on some these GM candidates and googled the drive between Pitt and DC lol. His resume is attractive, working for 3 great FO in Pitt, phi, and Baltimore. He seems to be a very strong candidate. If he and his wife feel strongly about staying close to Pitt, we could be very attractive bc how many opportunities will arise to be the lead GM that close to home.
  4. Frustrating game. Some great moments, but so many unforgivable mental mistakes, and poor execution on routine stuff. Hopefully we get the OT we really want and losses like these are a good thing.
  5. Ron wants to say it was uncatchable, but the evil woman from the little mermaid stole his voice 2 months ago.
  6. Can we please get a long snapper bc we spend so much time talking about snaps and that should be the easy part. We have enough holes to patch let's figure out the simple stuff fairly soon.
  7. We were winning before the pathetic effort on defense last drive, now this. Missed xp, etc, a lot to be frustrated with today. It is all contributing to us losing a game we should be winning. But still plenty of time.
  8. Valid point, years 3-5 would be cheaper, although we would save money with Howell year 1 (1 mil vs 10 mil cap hits), and possibly year 2, but I hope theyd have howell locked up by then, which would come with a higher cap hit. While the savings on years 3-5 are an advantage, you are also replacing someone who has proven can be successful, with an unknown. With our QB drought, I want to lock Howell up and know we have our franchise QB for the next decade plus. I'm far from sold on Caleb, and maye is not a lock either. All things considered, I hope they proceed with sam being viewed as the long term QB this off-season.
  9. I think edge is our biggest need at this moment, but when looking long term, I'd say OT. Given 1. Leno's age, 2. We have a young up and coming QB, and 3. we got steady production from our d line in the past as long as Allen / Payne are healthy, I'd prioritize OT. With five picks in the first three rounds this year, I hope our new FO doesn't fall in love with a particular player or position like we did with Davis and Forbes, and they let the board come to them so to speak. I think we are lucky given that this year there will be a bunch of tackles worthy of a first round pick. Even if we win a few more games, we won't have to reach to get a quality tackle, and it would address in my opinion our biggest need. With our first five picks, if we were able to address OT, TE, LB, DE, in any order without reaching, I think we will have a very exciting 2024 to look forward to, assuming we have hired a FO / coach we all believe in. If they go d end, the names you mentioned would be exciting too, but doesn't Latu have a neck issue that almost ended his career? If so, I wouldn't consider him in the first.
  10. I wouldn't be surprised to see maye have more success in the NFL than Caleb. And Id rather have Howell + high first round pick at another position, than draft maye/Caleb and flip Howell for picks that aren't going to match his worth.
  11. The site crashing is all Howells fault. Can't you guys see how much he just sucks!
  12. I'm happy for Forbes. He is a likeable guy, and he was in a bad place for a few weeks. Hopefully he can build on this and get some swagger back.
  13. Brissett has been great. But after Howell has been around him for TC, preseason, and 8 games, is another 9 weeks that impactful that you choose that over a 6th rounder? I'd have taken the draft pick. Bring in another vet that could possibly give Howell another perspective to learn from.
  14. If we win those games, we don't make those trades (which will help us in the long run) and we would be sitting at 6-3, and Harris might think Ron is a competent coach. Stinking up the joint in those games are a lose the battle but win the war type moments.
