  1. I'm not sure how I feel about Rivera saying he talked to the captains...I'm glad he did, but it starts to skirt the line of not taking full ownership of the decision. I don't--and have never--seen Rivera as the type of coach to place blame elsewhere (that's more a Mike Shanahan characteristic lol). But I'm not sure why it needed to be said. Starts to inch close to "even the captains wanted Heinicke benched" rhetoric. *full disclosure: I did not hear what Rivera said so I may walk this take back after doing so.
  2. I assumed that's why Heinicke's legs allowed him to get out from the pocket and make plays since he had better vision when he did...no idea if it was true lol, but that was my assumption.
  3. It's also about still throwing with velocity and timing when the mechanics aren't there...RG3 could flip a laser 20 yards downfield while backpeddling and throwing off the wrong foot or across his body while jumping in the air.
  4. To make the playoffs--and have any chance of advancing once there--the offense had to perform better and become more potent. It started sliding backwards with Heinicke, and he started turning the ball over more. Commanders with him under center haven't won in the last 4 weeks. Said a month or so ago (no longer guessing pages lol) that we had a better chance of maximizing the offense with Wentz...I didn't think his first 6 games were his ceiling. I'm optimistically hoping that the benching had a positive effect on Wentz and that the offense becomes seriously dangerous now. Still holding on to the Wentz-as-Nick-Foles storyline coming true lol...
  5. If Wentz starts, I hope he (and the entire team) make Irsay look even more like a doofus for what he said about Wentz after trading him. Because this lol:
  6. My 2023 status symbols for men: Don't give a **** what anyone thinks of you That's it.
  7. We've had 5 losing seasons in a row...screw the 10-win mark lol.
  8. Coming from a guy who named one of his cats Bacon Double Cheeseburger, I would have named that cat “Dickhead” no matter what it looked like lol…
  9. More stuff to consider that probably means nothing but hell maybe it does lol: ”One thing to gain would be this — a (Cowboys) loss to the Commanders (assuming they beat the Browns on Sunday) would ensure that Aaron Rodgers wouldn’t get a seat at the postseason table, and that the hot (but not as hot as they were before Saturday) Lions are kept out, too.”
  10. Yeah it was said a lot after the last two seasons…Going 5-1 with “one-legged 46-year-old Alex Smith” as starter in 2020 then going 7-8 with “noodle-armed midget Heinicke” as starter in 2021 had a bunch of fans and even media members making comments about how far the team could go with just average QB play. But to your point the offensive weapons have been massively stocked up so those comments are more appropriate now.
  11. Both very true…ok, maybe 25% was accurate after all lol…
  12. This would be our third year in a row saying the “If we have just an average QB” mantra lol…we must thoroughly suck at finding even average QBs.
  13. I dunno, it might be higher than that. There’s a realistic chance that if we beat the Browns, we eliminate all wildcard contenders except the Lions. The big hurdle though is that the Vikings play at Green Bay, and the Vikings may not travel well to outdoor stadiums in the cold.
  14. ??…You focused on “I didn’t say ‘best’ “ and the big difference between “best available QB” and “best QB”. Not agreeing with the consensus didn’t seem to be part of your argument, just that someone was misstating what you said.
