  1. I so wish I could find the Cameo that the Junks Producers did that showed the two stages to EB - beginning and then "middle" phase of Covid. It was so spot on and true. Brilliant Cameo. Really funny. Never listed to Chad. Just wasn't my cup of tea.
  2. I don't currently subscribe to the WaPo. I'm guessing the story will be behind a pay wall of some sort? Least I can do is subscribe if they bring The Danny down.

    Golf

Thank you both for the input. I do appreciate it. Attached are pics of my drivers. I don’t want to get on the PGA - just not call attention to myself on the course. Thanks for for taking the time. I’ll look into woods, a putter and thinning out my drivers. Any more input - love to have it.

    Golf

Hi all. I had to play in a golf tournament today at UMD for work. The first time I ever golfed was at Compass Pointe 15 years ago. I kept putting balls in the woods and ended up getting a debilitating case of Lyme disease. But I digress. I bought some used clubs, a used bag and new shoes back then. Good news - shoes still fit. Bag dry rotted and replaced by another Play it Again Sports $30 bag. Clubs still good I’d assume. Ended up playing today with my boss and a couple customers. Some shots - God awful. Some not horrible. It was a scramble....used one of my drives and sank a couple putts. Chipping eludes me. Here is where I need advice. The good golfers in our group mentioned I had basically all the same 3 drivers - with no loft. Any advice on what should be in my bag? I have three more of these outings coming up in the next few months. I’d like to hit a range and try to suck less and show up with the right clubs. I have irons 3-9, PW, SW and Gap. I have a putter that looks like it was stolen from a Putt Putt in OC. Nobody else had one that looked mine. What else do I need? Better loft driver? A wood? Better putter? Play it again a good option to purchase used decent stuff? Not trying to compete on PGA - just trying to improve optics / chance for reasonable play. Appreciate any advice. Thanks, GV
  5. I did see a Gordon Ramsay video where he was eating a snake in Vietnam. The restaurant butchered the snake basically in front of the table. The chef pulled the snake's heart out and it was still beating. They put it in a shot glass and Gordon did a beating snake heart shot. I might pass on that if offered. I'm good w/ sushi, sashimi and carpaccio.
  6. A bunch of years ago I saw a post here on Extremeskins that claimed if you signed up at a certain website you'd get a free subscription to Maxim magazine. I was skeptical. I signed up with all the real information except I changed my first name to my dead cat's name. Here almost a decade later, I still get junk mail to the house with his name on it. That link was the only time I've ever used that name. Never once got a Maxim magazine. Fool me once...........
  7. I'm curious how everyone feels about this: People throwing water on NY Cops I get there are a lot of problems with the public vs. the police, but I can't imagine doing something like above.
  8. Just got our numbers back. We usually get a refund from state (MD) and have to pay 4x that refund to Federal. Last year we made 6% more than 2017 but paid less in taxes. I guess the withholding tables indicated less should be taken out of our paychecks. We will still get a state refund but will owe 5.5X that to Uncle Sam about a month from now. SALT limitation was brutal. Overall federal taxes were up (percentage wise) vs 2017. My wife and I changed our W4s last night from 1 deduction to zero and then are having more money pulled out each pay period. That check to IRS is going to sting. Hopefully these changes will help tax time next year. We'll keep an eye on candidates for this upcoming election and then re-assess 2020. Thank goodness I don't have Redskin tix to purchase this year. GV
  9. I'm curious how the adjusted tax brackets will affect people this year. We are sending our taxes in today to the accountant and I have no idea how it will all come out. We will lose some exemptions and miss out on some SALT w/ the cap - but the tax rates at the various income levels seemed to have dropped fairly significantly. I'm sure we will still be boned. We always end up owing a decent amount in Federal every year w/ a small state return.
  10. @MarkB452 Thank you for the extra info. Much appreciated.
  11. Got it - thanks for the detailed info. Much appreciated.
  12. Thanks for the reply. I'll wander on over to Stubhub and see what they have. I knew the team was selling single games - but wasn't sure if that was through the normal tix office or a broker. So - if I follow the link on the Redskins official page - it takes me to Ticketmaster. I'm finding club tix - 4 of them on the side of the endzone for $500 each. When I go to Stubhub directly - they have a crapton available for less than half of Ticketmaster. What am I missing here?
  13. Good morning season ticket holders. I just got a call from another sales guy from my company that lives up in NJ. He had a customer up there ask him for tickets to the Redskin v Texans game. Customer specifically asked for club level seats. Kind of ballsy if you ask me - but whatever. The guy knows I'm a Skins fan and called me to ask me the best way to go about acquiring 4 - club tix. So.....I'm here. I know the Skins have single game tix available for some games. Best way to get those is just call the Skins if available? Any special number? Any idea what the face value of that particular game is in club? I know they changed the face value of games this year to reflect the match up. Any help on where to get started is appreciated. Hail

  15. I liked spending time w/ family and friends at the tailgate - but none of the people I tailgated w/ have kids or their kids are grown up. So we are just in different places in our lives and our priorities are different. It has been problematic for years. I'm super strict when it comes to drinking and driving. I would normally have 4-5 beers at tailgate and nothing in the stadium. Here is a typical football Sunday: Call an Uber to go from my house to my sister's house - leaving at 6:30 AM to arrive at 7:00AM. Hop in the car w/ our group to arrive at 7:30 - 7:45AM for opening of Red Zone. Tailgate from 8AM - 12:15 PM - usually fun. Game from 1PM - 4:30PM that is rarely fun. Sit in traffic to get out (brother in law drives back) - putting us back to my sister's house at 5:30 - 6PM. Call an Uber back to my house and be home around 6:30 PM. It's exhausting and certainly isn't cheap. I think skinfan2k nailed it.....I might be a bigger fan w/o this grind. If I can start recording the game at 1PM and start watching at 1:30 -1:45 FF'ding through commercials - I could turn a 12 hour death march into something less than 3 hours. So much more palatable - win or lose. This all said - to you super fans that can pull off the 12+ hours and really enjoy it. I am so very happy for you all. Have fun and do you. Go Skins.
  16. Tough decision this year. My sister and mother have tickets. My brother-in-law and I had tickets we bought every year from another season ticket holder. Recently I've had to eat 4 or more tickets per season due to scheduling conflicts. Kids are getting older and have more activities that I'd like to be a part of. Besides tailgating, generally an awful game day experience. It was time to rip off the band aid. The guys are now out. We did not renew and the season ticket holders we always bought tickets from gave up their tickets.. Maybe we will go to a game or two with tickets from Stub Hub - but that will be our choice. Honestly - it feels like a huge burden has been lifted from my shoulders. I'll still root for my team, but will do so from my living room or basement. The good news for fans - with us giving up tickets, it should be inevitable that this team turns it around starting this year. Enjoy. You are welcome. GV
  17. That's silly talk. Of course I'm concerned how it will affect my kids and everyone else down the road. However isn't it the mature and fiscally responsible thing to see how it affects your family? Am I to hate it just because it is a Republican sponsored bill and not see how it will impact my family, my community and my loved ones? I suggest others run the numbers too. If that calculator blows and there is another one that is better, I'd love someone to send me a link. I always have believed...... If the Republicans get this through, I'm sure the Democrats will be back in office soon and will over correct for the Republicans over correction. Both sides are totally out of touch and the whole system is so completely broken I'm always going to make decisions based on what I believe is good for the country, my family and my community. Sometimes it is a Dem backed idea and sometimes GoP. On this particular issue, I'm still gathering information and I encourage others to do similarly.
  18. Nope - exactly what I was trying to find. Have some family coming over tomorrow and I'm sure this will come up. Like you said - if it goes through - during reconciliation - it would probably come to a middle ground of not a huge change for us. I was trying to get a ballpark. Some people coming over tomorrow will tell me I'm going to be paying $40K more in taxes next year and others will tell me that I'm going to have so much money - I won't know what to do w/ it all (once the corporations really get rolling). It is interesting to see that it is somewhere in the middle. Hope, whatever happens, the sage advice of a great coach resonates w/ all of you. Stay Medium.
  19. Thanks for posting @Weganator
  20. Hypothetically then, if I had more than 20K - then I'd have to see how everything shook out? My big three are mortgage interest, real estate taxes and SALT in that order. Thanks for the reply Weganator.
  21. I know this thing has to still be finalized and there will be compromises between the house and senate version....but once that is done - will someone come out w/ an online calculator that actually shows what it does to real people's tax bill? I am so sick of the right and the left nonsense. The right says it does Apple. The left says it does Orange. I'm sure it probably does Banana....but I'd like to punch in my numbers and actually see. If the tax law will be so much more simplistic - I'd think it would be easy to devise such a tool.
  22. Jose - Category 4 unfortunately...but tracking north of you at the moment
  23. Really appreciate the info....so to dial it in a little further...I am from the DC market - but I'll be watching it in Maine. Can I sign up for Preseason Live and stream the game on Preseason Live that evening or will I need to wait 24 hours?
