Yeah, I was being sarcastic but if we bring in half of those guys that are younger, know the system and are upgrades that would be a win in year one of Quinn's tenure. Adding other free agents is absolutely necessary too for sure. I have high hopes for KJ Henry as a nice piece, especially if we add a stud on the other side.

You guys are both right. Detroit had Stafford for years and sucked cause they didn't have anything around him. He goes to the Rams and immediately wins a SB on a team loaded in the trenches. Everyone is right that a franchise QB is the way to go, if you can find one, and everyone is right that you need to build the trenches to win. This years two SB teams support both sides of this debate. I'm giving you both a trophy.

Hypothetically, who's to say the Bears don't trade up to #3 overall for the #9 overall pick AND Justin Fields plus a 2nd round pick next year. The Bears get CW and MHJ....NE rolls with Fields and goes with Nabors or Bowers at #9 and they then have their combo. Point is, the Bears are in such a great position that, depending on the interest level for Fields, they could do any number of things to get both CW and MHJ including dealing with Washington if need be to pick up more picks.

Good post. Sam also was captaining a sinking ship where even the fans, me included, were rooting for losses after the playoffs were an afterthought. Can't imagine how many players checked out, including the entire defense, once Sweat and Young were dealt. Sam got beaten up every week and finally broke, at least mentally....I would think a new coaching staff will understand this and give him some benefit of the doubt.

I don't know if I want another season of Howell or not but I do want to keep coaching him up to see if he can become something. Watch the highlight film KLWilkins1977 posted and, when Sam has time to throw, he makes some very nice throws. He's a different QB in the 1st half of the season than the 2nd and that's what needs to be figured out imo. I trust Coach Quinn and KK will watch the film and talk to Sam and then make a decision on what direction to go in. I see Sam as a potential asset to the organization with his value being undetermined at this point. I do know that there were opponents this season who heaped praise on him for his toughness and throwing ability. I really want to see what Sam learned from last season and how he can improve himself.

I'm seeing reports where Minnesota is gonna take a QB in the 1st round and let KC walk; then Atlanta ends up with KC. Who knows?

Harris should be tired....he's had to work non-stop finding a GM and head coach and he just lost Joel Embiid for a couple of months. He could use a Robert Kraft type trip to relax.

I don't know.....After all of the background checks and interviews are completed and you add it all up it could be a difference maker. This franchise needs to nail this pick and if there are enough red flags on CW then it may make a difference same as it did with Ben Johnson supposedly being a bad interview for head coach. For example, I can see Jayden Daniels for example just nailing the interviews and background check where CW may not. Is that enough to sway the pick?

I listened to the Sirianni/Roseman presser last week (or two ago) and watched today's presser with the Commies. The difference was night and day....Quinn presented as having a clear plan and is in sync with the GM/ownership....Sirianni and Roseman had no answers, dodged questions and basically said they're counting on the new OC hire to save the franchise from sinking. I get that any new hire is going to sound fresh and great compared to a team that lost 5 of their last 6 games but I really do believe our organization is going to catch Philly fast given the hires we've made. Quinn is a breath of fresh air and it's gonna resonate....the players will trust him and buy in.

I agree with your first point but this point could become an issue if we want to move up to the #1 overall pick for Williams. You can bet the Bears are gonna ask about Allen or Payne as part of the deal, at least that's what some proposed deals I've seen have mentioned. I know those proposed deals are bull**** but I bet we'd consider dealing Allen and the #2 to move up to #1 if that was the Bears asking price. Doesn't mean we'd do it though....

Quicksand Quinn?

I believe we are in good hands with the coaching staff, now it's time to find some players who can play. I have no doubt Quinn will be a great motivator and will have solid game plans. ****'s about to get real.

London Fletcher is stoked over Quinn's presser. If Quinn excites LF he should excite us.

If we follow the Detroit formula and add a back with some lightning I feel good about BRob as our thunder back, the role that David Montgomery plays in Detroit.

Interesting hire, makes me wonder, IF we can't get Williams at #1 because the price is too high or we get outbid, would Kingsbury be interested in taking Harrison at #2 and someone else later in the draft or would he have interest in dealing for Fields? What does he see in Maye, Daniels and the others available in the draft? Does Peters work closely with KK to determine the plan of action with the #2 pick based on what QB KK most wants? So many ways this could go including trading back just one spot with NE and picking up another couple of picks....this is an intriguing hire for sure. His press conference Q and A will be potentially as interesting as Quinn's.

We may have to get Ladd McConkey with one of our 2nd round picks if we can based on what I'm seeing; He's drawing comps to Cooper Kupp.

What about Nix later in the draft?
