I actually think Banks will not last 3-4 spots down in the draft. He is being mocked to Pitt right behind us in a lot of mocks I am seeing. I think he is underrated relative to the top 3 because he lost his sophomore year to injury

At LB, Anthony Walker is another guy they should talk to who should be cheap. He’s coming off a season ending injury. He’s a solid player who is not a playmaker; he apparently was the Brissett of the Cleveland D where he is absolutely beloved by teammates

Perhaps the biggest issue with the OL has been the inability to develop young talent. They've drafted Charles, Ismael, Cosmi and Paul during Ron's tenure and I would argue, outside of Paul, each guy underachieved vs expectations. It's a point Paulsen made - that the way Matsko works is good for vets but not young linemen.

I think they are comfortable with Gates as the starting center if needed and that is not the case with Wes. If that is the thinking, it's still quite the premium to pay for Gates vs Schweitzer unless that third year is some big dummy year where the base salary is way higher vs year 1 and year 2. Regarding the broader comment of the current OL, I think they cut Roullier after the draft once they take a center and that center may be your day 1 starter. I also wouldn't rule out a tackle with the first round pick. Leno/Wylie/Gates/Cosmi/1st round pick RT is a very solid OL with two athletic stud guards opening things up in the interior

This lineup I almost agree with. I think they grab a center in rds 3 or 4 too. Charles is off the team or on PS I think when they let Roullier and Norwell go, they get the $ to extend Curl

If they draft a tackle Rd 1, he is starting and Wylie moves inside to guard where he is a better player anyway. Lucas is your third tackle and Charles is not a tackle at the NFL level, not even a 4th tackle

I don’t get why everyone is so quick to cut Lucas. The guy is invaluable as a swing tackle who can play both LT and RT competently. I think folks forget that period of time between Nsekhe and Lucas. I would restructure/cut Thomas and Roullier way before Lucas
