      My husband and I came 3 hours to Richmond to watch the Redskins in practice Monday p.m. and was told it was cancelled. I am so heartbroken as it was hard to take off from work and being 63 years old I just wanted to see them. I cried. We live in Kill Devil Hills, NC and I may not be around for next year and was just so upset that I could not see my skins. Cannot come any more this year. But I wish them the best. Linda Sadler

    The Redskins have announced a 4 PM press conference for today at Redskins Park to introduce Gruden as the new head coach and presumably will make position titles clear at that time.

    Editor: Regarding the outcry for the name of the Washington Redskins to be changed because the name is shameful and offensive ("Franchise would be in good company if it changed name," Reading Eagle, Oct. 12): I agree. The word "Washington" should be dropped immediately.
