  1. What had been actually proven when we had Gruden as opposed to now? It showed me that performance didn't matter and Snyder would retain losers while letting McVay and Kyle S leave.
  2. Jay Gruden and Snyder/Allen keeping him is what killed me as a fan. Can't be serious that anyone thinks he should get a job again.
  3. Hell, Brunell vs. Tampa was almost as bad. But at least he was gimpy by the 2005 playoffs (and Gibbs mistakenly went with him. To the tune of 41 yards passing, a pick and under 50 percent completion percentage)
  4. he literally threw a chair https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1986-12-23-sp-86-story.html
  5. it would be idiotic and bizarre for fans of a team that picked a "generational talent" at #2 and foreclosed on the opportunity for other players to not compare the guy running riot over their team who was picked in the first round by the most hated rival in the franchise's history and being displeased with the results. Also, I was saying stuff about Chase before he got hurt.
  6. But you go easy on Chase but criticize a guy who came off the streets. I've noted your presence in both threads and I find it curious. "Leave Chase alone!" but TH has an overly invested following. Curious.
  7. For one, we weren't winners with Candle. Two, when Brunell got his knee injured vs. the Giants, you remember that Ramsey finished the game with a W and won the San Francisco game the next week. Gibbs made a mistake, he allowed his team to win a 17-10 game vs. TB with Brunell looking awful (forty one yards total passing, with a pick and no TDs) then lose what was a winnable game vs. Seattle to stick with a guy who was throwing hospital balls to his wideouts in that game. Really, that was a SB winning team (potentially) or at least could have got there with how the overall team was playing if not for QB. But Brunell was great at times before the knee.
  8. I just did a quick search but couldn't find anything. Why am I remembering reports that Baldy was arrested for like DUI but also possession of other drugs or something like that? Yet I find no mention even though I've had this in my memory banks for years. I even recall feeling bad for him because he seemed like such a jovial guy and I thought maybe he was medicating old pain or depression. Did a dream just persist in the wrong part of my brain?
  9. I was lurking before I joined and even then I joined back in 2003, the nerve of some youngblood trying to insinuate I'd have a fake profile or that I'm even angry. Using a mocking name isn't angry. You talking about "Chase Hung" just seemed a little strange to me so I put it back on you. Why would I be angry about Young and how is it obsessive or taking his struggles personally, I barely care about sports at all and only watch bits of games every blue moon. Were you on this board when we had Brunell limping around or Jason Candle? You don't remember people who were desperate for us to fire Jay Gruden (me being one of them)? You think this is angry, you wouldn't have survived back then, if you think this is anger or even remotely obsessive.
  10. I find his claim highly suspect. A former touted NFLer is probably grifting for free gift cards from DoorDash and Chipotle now that he has nothing better to do.
  11. McLaurin and Lachey, the only good things to come out of Columbus in quite a long time.
  12. Skinsinparadise's post is why I have a hard time rooting for any of these teams or watching the NFL. It's one thing to have a transparent process where the public or tourists get screwed (really tired of paying taxes for stadiums or arenas or convention centers I'm not using because I booked a room to see family or friends) via a car rental/hotel tax, it's another to engage in this sort of parasitism. At least the Skins could have once claimed they offered non-economic benefits to the community, but they can't really say that anymore. Why should any corporation besides the Green Bay Packers get to see a dime of public money (I'd be amenable to public money going to pay for connecting the stadium's utilities and services to the main lines, just as I would for a new neighborhood or something like that)? Raiders really lived up to their name in Vegas. We're in the looting stage and have been for a few decades.
  13. I actually was going to post that about Manning. It's interesting that you don't see how that, for a QB, proves the point. His talent and intelligence were undeniable, but his inability to win in the big moments lingered on for much of his career. Whereas Brady, who was not as celebrated a college QB, by the time he emerged as starter just showed an undeniable quality in the big moments.
  14. It's just that I watched a highly touted defensive lineman actually make a difference in a historically significant game for his school. I know every year there can be a guy who is deserving of a top 5 pick, and that's fine. But people were calling Young generational and "can't miss" and almost every year we get highly touted DEs and DTs so I'm trying to figure out what makes him generational as opposed to "the best this year" (which is absolutely fine to say.) Your wife and your mom should know.
  15. No it's not. Great players show up in big games. Maybe not all of them but many of them. Before he was drafted people mentioned the Clemson gene.
  16. In light of the game Aidan Hutchinson had yesterday, with 3 sacks, multiple pressures and getting Heisman mentions, I thought I'd take a look at how Chase Dung performed in The Game or any big season ending matches. In 2019, he netted a fat zero against U of M besides 2 hurries. But I didn't see it, maybe he rested early because it was a blowout? 2018 he had a PD and some tackles. In big 10 title game vs. Lol northwestern he had 3 sacks and 1 vs. Washington. In 2019, he didn't do much vs. Clemson or Wisconsin before that. Meanwhile, Aidan Hutchinson can lay goose eggs from here on out and will always have his 2021 OSU performance and school record sacks for a season. How exactly is chase generational talent when he's not even as good as his fellow alums or a guy coming out two years after him?
  17. Expansion required the NBA to dilute its rules to free up offense. The NFL has fortunately weathered the storm a bit, perhaps because of the high level of specialization, I don't know, but there is some dilution and 40 teams will mean a lower quality product. But as long as fools keep giving money to the NFL, it'll be fine. Just like the Madden games (which are awful and have been for a decade.)
  18. Chase Dung. Still makes me chuckle. That said, hope he has a speedy recovery and makes of his career what he really wants to make of it.
  19. Where is the real Warhead36? What have you done with him? (actually I just recognize the name, I'm not sure you were ever a good poster for sure, but prolific enough.) Chase Dung. New nickname, get it embossed on mocking signs held up at games. It's even funnier because his name is Chase so it's like he's..chasing...dung. Got him!
  20. Shouldn't see the outside of a prison until he's in his 60s. **** that dude.
