  1. Tom Brady would have stopped the woman from falling, or at least rushed to her aid, possibly laid hands upon her to heal her injury. Stafford is an absolut (vodka) trash person, just face it Stafford-lovers (imagine being one lol) *insert "you're trash, Brock" Bully Maguire Spider-Man meme
  2. Apparently the Bengals had an after party and he invited him. Seems a little different if the team had a function after the game than if he went out to clubs all night but I'd need to verify a bit more.
  3. They just overlook that whole move to Saint Louis where they actually won and went to SB?
  4. Rams to LA fans: We're back, happy to see us?! LA: **** off we're not being fooled again.
  5. Bengals really really need to avoid SBs vs. NFC West teams. Always heartbreakers.
  6. Perrine, with the Super Bowl on the line didn't dive, didn't reach and meekly accepted what he was given. I'd cut his ass tomorrow.
  7. Stafford sucks. SB or not he's a Gump ass loser. All arm talent and ten cent head. Rams got bailed out by one of the worst Def holding calls I've ever seen
  8. He had bigger money waiting from Vito and Crew He had no vision either, had first down to left.
  9. **** team winning the chip. Matthew Corky Stafford getting a title. Lame ass NBA refereeing. One of worst SB Champs of all time.
  10. The thing is, there are a ton of guys in the NFL who don't seem to participate in this sort of activity. SO you're right, maybe it was more of a fight that got out of hand (I still think society should treat stomping someone on the ground seriously unless it's someone who fought off a robbery or battery and needs to end the threat) but there's a part of me that wonders why some segments of the NFL can seem to avoid these situations with almost no effort...and others cannot.
  11. If I saw a gang of dudes stomping on my son's skull, I'm killing them all. That's not a fight. And what if this victim didn't even swing on anyone. You can't batter someone, they put up their hands to protect their face and you call it a fight. but we'll see I guess.
  12. On one hand, I get it, the reality is a jock can also be into sports in a certain way (many of them are gamers, although they tend to like more arcadey **** like Call of Duty and sports games) and the less socially masterful kids were often into D&D. I tended to straddle worlds so I felt less excluded and welcomed people into both (nothing more proud than having a guy who doesn't play sports win a championship with you filling a role that he could fill on the team because you believed in him) but without getting into social commentary (pls no b@n!), I find a lot of the culture around sports disgusting and perhaps moreso tailored to dunderheads than it used to be, but I should be clear I feel that way about music and pop culture. The more appeal the Super Bowl accumulated, the more commercial it became and the more stupid the surrounding elements. ESPN went from showing the drama and artistry of a sport through highlights to having idiots (or people who are at least playing the loudmouth idiot) yell at each other. The culture has changed and sports has changed with it, and in a large sense, been diminished by it (other than revenue maybe.)
  13. Yeah, I didn't even play it (I did read fantasy gamebooks) and that stuff reminds me why I dislike sports fans so often They watch grown men in tights or shorts, wear another man's name on their back, study the trivia of how many times a guy got on base, etc. then call people nerds for liking stories or settings. Nerds who master abstruse rules are usually smarter too but many nerds laid foundation for statistics in sports so whatever. Nerds like they describe are usually a lot more chill (or used to be, today's nerd culture is filled with normies acting like nerds) and frankly, usually lack the ambition and slimy sales persona of the type of business Snyder founded and engaged in.
  14. Wait, why does it matter if someone, during the course of a possibly criminal (or at least immoral act), killed their loved one? Did you really just ask that knowing that this girl tweeted about something bizarre (not at all "relatable" it seemed very specific to her situation) like speeding during/just after an argument and ended up dead when the dude was going double the speed limit? Why does that matter? If it was your daughter you'd want to know.
  15. USA today has an nfl arrest database, apparently. Reviewing the names that I recognize I think the "young man and violent sport" thing is an excuse. At least once a guy is past high school or college.
  16. It makes much more sense based on McDaniels reassurance of Tua here: https://www.si.com/nfl/dolphins/.amp/news/miami-dolphins-coach-mike-mcdaniel-delivers-powerful-message-to-tua-tagovailoa That the rumors are true that Flores and Tua didn't care for each other and maybe that Flores was fine going after Watson. BTW, ghostofSparta that account is not impossible but errs in one key area. Miami has a black GM, Grier. Why would you be ok with that but somehow not be at coach? Again, rumors and actual quotes I posted suggest Flores is a solid coach but not incredibly liked and perhaps not trusted by some players. But his firing seems to be because of a negative and hostile attitude towards Grier and Tua. Both minorities in their positions.
  17. So now the question is was he speeding because they were fighting (that's a form of abuse by the way) or because he was just wanting to go fast?
  18. He is absolutely a terrible person but having had to do the quoted above, sorry but being old doesn't mean you're not an evil sociopath who should be sued into oblivion. His suit, however, does not meet that standard.
  19. as I asked elsewhere, what exactly explains Marvin Lewis' lengthy tenure at Cincy? Herm Edwards got two different tries, and a decent amount of time with the Jets. Was Caldwell that good a coach (I think he was OK) to get Flores seems to have been fired for his relationship with his QB and GM. Broncos had hired a black coach and he had two successive bad campaigns before firing. Guys get fired much faster now, unless they squeak in a good season that extends it. Doug Pederson had issues with wanting more control or whatever, and got fired and he won a SB. This isn't so much a defense of the league but we aren't allowed to ask the tough questions about the reasons for disparities in specific instances or generally, and this isn't just about hiring practices in the NFL. I don't know that Flores or the accusations of tanking are the best arguments if it's about discrimination. Nor do I think Miami or Denver are guilty of it, since they hired black coaches, including Flores himself. Giants are guilty of violating the Rooney Rule or Bill B really did misread news on his phone and has blown everything up. But that doesn't mean racism, though it might in their case.
  20. Flores' 2019 interview with Denver was right after they had made decision to hire for previous two years: Vance Joseph. Is it really his position that Denver must hire consecutive black coaches or they're racist? How is Miami racist if they hired him but fired him because a lot of people thought he was a price, including the current high draft pick minority QB?
  21. digital camo is hideous, get outta here with that. This isn't about today being the end, it's about the last 2 years (really before the name change.) As someone pointed out, Cleveland kept the Browns for a reason. Your name means something, even if someone changes it or becomes known by something else as a nickname, that all means something. It's part of your identity. It may be the first step in recognizing yourself in a conscious and intelligent way that you are you. When your child first respond to their own name, that is the start of their identity. But ultimately, this is different, it's a corporation and I guess some people will get used to it. If you grow up in the DC area, I guess it makes sense for them to be your team. But if you've moved or never lived there, what is keeping you tied to this team? I don't think I'll ever root for another team, I'll just be a fan of specific moments or players. Commanders will be proof that no one with a brain had any input on the name, or that they were not valued enough. Commanders is another tone-deaf, corny, out of touch, obsequious gesture no different than what gave rise to it or really, even some of Dan Snyder's seemingly more heartfelt gestures after tragedies---it's all a front. I don't even know if Dan realizes it entirely being who he is, but he is fundamentally inauthentic, spiteful, an ignoble man and this choice of name (if true) really puts his stamp on the team. As someone who doesn't think all of these changes are just about Washington, its previous name, or even the NFL, I still feel comfortable saying: This is Dan Snyder's Washington football team. It's not yours anymore.
  22. I've always wondered what it was that drove Jordan haters, like how do you hate an Alexander or Napoleon or hell, a Michaelangelo or Praxiteles. But I'm starting to understand now. And really, it's quite human if irritating.
